Richard Nixon's Strategy was Right but it had Huge Costs Human & Financial Costs. The Vietnam War had been so Screwed Up by this Point that their weren't any Good Options at this Point.

That´s right at this point there weren´t any Good Options left!

Actually France was the cause of the War. They lost there Colonies after there defeat in WW 2. After the end of WW2 they wanted there Colon. back!

Ho Chi Minh had other plans. The Fr before there own defeat in Vietnam wanted American soldiers directly under there command for Vietnam!!!!

After the defeat from France in Vietneam the UN in the Form from Charters (led by France) laid the way for a divided Vietnam!!!

Under these Charters France more or less sucked or vacumed America into this War. What´s very sad is that most people don´t even know this and that later the French Gov. became one of the most loudest opposers of the American involvement.!!

As someone not worthy to serve in the military, I am forever humbled at the capability of men and women who give all. During Vietnam and Iraq and Afghanistan selfless sacrifice for the promise of others to live as I do today. President Nixon and President Bush led a fighting force to secure the freedom of others thereby securing our own.

this second half of the speech outlines the exact same reasons why we should stay in iraq until the job gets done. after about the first minute and a half, if you simply replace 'vietnam' with 'iraq,' the message fits almost perfectly. if nixon is a liar, then bush is a liar, and i'm a baby-killer, and you helpful smurfs who have just agreed with the last three accusations are actually patriots.

it is in fact this level of articulation and sincerity that makes liberals burn with hate. the only thing left to say in dissent after a speech like this is "liar." of course, in the heat of the moment, shouting, burning things, and posters with the sitting US president depicted as Hitler, then burned in effigy is more than enough to inhibit debate and call out the riot police (their goal is to end debate).
