This song is a nursery rhyme compared to complex indian songs. Very very few westerners sing well, most are garbage that cant sing worth a shit.

Don't know where to call on this one. Sonu is so well established as an icon within the Hindi Playback genre that perhaps he feels the need to experiment and seek challenges elsewhere. This performance somehow does not add up. I have heard Manna Dey sing Bing Crosby's version of ' Oh Danny Boy' and reveled at the sheer versatility of his voice.. This one isn't one of those performances. Sonu himself keeps a very high standard.. an hence as fans we expect better things off him... fingers crossed!

I love sonu, and never missed any of his concerts. I will say, it was definitely a good attempt by Sonu. But there is something that can never be copied from Cheb Mami, and that is his accent. I have had shawarma in every region of the world made by arabs, but none of them got even close to the original taste of shawarma as in Lebanon. Thats all I am saying. But it was an excellent attempt by Sonu, but the biggest thing missing is the Arabic accent!!!

Well said, Sir!! A very true observation. Most of the so called "singers" from the west couldn't carry more than one meter in the same song. Forget about the vocal range. I think it was a nice effort from Sonu. Truth is that Sting is legend, Cheb Mami is legend and Sonu is legend as well. So please don't compare them. He just tried to do something new. Obviously he can't get 100% of Sting and Cheb Mami but still appreciated. Keep up Sonu. You are the king. Love Sting, Cheb Mami and you all.

Sting is Sting, and Sonu is Sonu. Sting is legend, and Sonu Nigam cannot even sing the Arabic singer's line very well. Sonu Nigam is a good singer, but he is the best in India. Like Kumar Sanu can never be Kishore Kumar; Sonu Nigam cannot be better than Sting. Sorry!!!
