Lesnar is facing Alistair Overeem, If you follow MMA at all or K-1 (K-1/Dream/Srikeforce champion) you would know who & why this event will do extremely well. Boxing gets the biggest draws, even I watch boxing but they fall short every year in the PPV market just like this year.

A Mixed Martial Artists trains for takedowns, takedown DEF, submissions, the clinch (that boxing refs break up good or bad doesn't matter the point is there way more cardio/preperation need to be a Mixed Martial Artist than JUST being a boxer.

The fact is there's always competition between different brands of sport but what they fail to realise is that as well as being competition for each other they also can help promote each other and create situations where everybody wins, but instead they decide to shit on fans and have stupid rivalries.
You can like both MMA and Boxing it doesn't have to be a constant debate. You can say what you want to about MMA but they do more revenue than Boxing and WWE combined. The next event 107 did 620,000 for the lightweight title fight & only 4 months previously they hosted UFC 100 which generated over 1.6 million PPV buys. They will pull the biggest ratings of the year for MMA guaranteed. Joe Rogan says all the time if someones good at one thing they can transfer that into another skill set so don't count boxers out in making it in MMA it wouldn't be ethical in the long run or in the big picture. But I do think Mayweather's character is what will play the part in whether he'd make it in an actual MMA bout not his skill set.

A Mixed Martial Artists trains for takedowns, takedown DEF, submissions, the clinch (that boxing refs break up good or bad doesn't matter the point is there way more cardio/preperation need to be a Mixed Martial Artist than JUST being a boxer.

Most mma fighters are college wrestlers who learned a year or two of ju jitsu. Or a karate artist who learned a year of wrestling. Or just a pure striker not puncher, but a striker. Boxing has a long history it paid its dues. Boxing is as technical as it is because it wasn't formed yesterday. I give mma another 10 or 15 years if it dont fade, then it will be complex.

You can like both MMA and Boxing it doesn't have to be a constant debate. You can say what you want to about MMA but they do more revenue than Boxing and WWE combined. Floyd and Pac fighting once a year isn't going to do as much as UFC putting on good cards month after month. I agree that Floyd doesn't have a fan base, he plays the bad guy against other guys who have a huge fan who want to see him lose. Dana White said its on, then when the ratings came. Dana got his ass kicked, (metaphoricly speaking) Dana White said it was a fight nobody didn't want to fight, it seemed the one nobody wanted to fight was the UFC bout. MMA still trying to legitimize itslef from their big brother Boxing. What makes me laugh is how they keep saying, "hey I'm a big Boxing fan aswell." Then they go off trying to sabotage it. MMA is cool, but Boxing STILL reigns King. The numbers prove me right.

yea Dana white is just a wanna be Richard Schaeffer and a mayweather hater.He wishes UFC could do the numbers that boxing is doing with mayweather.Bottom line is that weather people are paying to see mayweather win or lose.. Boxing breaks records in PPV sales (as well as UFC SALES) whenever he fights. Boxing has a more diverse market than UFC THIS ALSO EXPLAINS why UFC IS NOT AS BIG. But UFC faces a dilemma when the diversity of UFC finally balances out. THey are going 2 C fewer white champs.

2) I can't prove this so its not researched fact.. but it just seems like the owners of UFC are banking on the HOPE of slow growth in their following to catch up to the popularity of BOXING as apposed to adding more diversity to their list of contenders (and thus a more diverse market and more Ticket sales). Is it just cencidence that 90% of their contenders are all white Is it just coincidence that 90% of their contenders are all white in one of the most diverse countries in the world????

People who succeed in boxing generally come from poorer backgrounds than others. The same applies to football. Why? They're both very accessible sports. MMA is less accessible. More training is involved, and you often can't get it in one place.
This correlates with the fact that black people are generally poorer than whites and some Asians.
Secondly, three of the UFC's champions are non-white. Though I note what you say about the contenders.

HoneyIEducatedTheWeb I aggree with the quality of life comparison of blacks whites and asians.but I don't see how that relates to MMA.sure I can understand your argument in regeards to Football and basket ball because it cost nothing but the price of a "ball" to learn how to play these games. BUT
learning MMA is no more expensive than learning boxing. Rates r very close. Yet ther're MORE blacks in boxing than in UFC. THis tells me there r more factors involved in getting in UFC 4 blacks.
