all the idiots that say nothing like jimmy page obviously don't have his solos ingrained in your fucking mind i can hear multiple licks where they sound like they came straight from a transcription of one of jimmys solos. EXAMPLE: 0:33
Lol you are basically playing things from "shine on you crazy diamond" from pink floyd...not original at all.. and NOTHING like jimmy page...but nice try :)
@lespaul457 these videos aren't that great. He's just covering jimmy page solos and putting a twist on em. I just watched No Quarter live at earls court in '75 and that blew my fuckin mind way more than this.
It does sound like Page if you compare it along side of "Since I've Been Loving You" or the Chopin piece he did a few years back that is floating around youtube.
yea dude if you look at the live version from like 73 he plays all these licks in the song since i been lovin you it might not be on the studio but he deff plays this live ive heard it
the chord progression is pretty close to Since I've Been Lovin You, and it has the same beat and it has the same organ sound. And the playing is similar to Page, especially Ex. 2. So, I don't see why you're saying "THIS IS NOT FROM SINCE I'VE BEEN LOVIN YOU!!!"
hey my friend, wow this really sounds like a jimmy page solo, incredible...
mmm but i want to ask you if this song is yours, sound very good and if is your song please please let me write a song whit a little part of the song, clearly i cannot use everything only a part i think than the 1 excercise to the 3 excercise, this really like me to much, please let me use it, ok bye i hope your comment
hey my friend, wow this really sounds like a jimmy page solo, incredible...
mmm but i want to ask you if this song is yours, sound very good and if is your song please please let me write a song whit a little part of the song, clearly i cannot use everything only a part please, ok bye i hope your comment
I have to agree with the others; this doesn't sound as Jimmy Page, but it was damn fine licks! Really nice tone, I have to say. Anyway, thanks for the video.
I don't think these licks are particularly characteristic of Jimmy Page, apart from the repeated note at 1:35-1:36 in exercise 4. They just sound like electric blues lead. He does actually have his own licks, but these ain't them!
@ksatia newb, its just the chord progression, jimmy plays alot of his solos in a minor seventh which is why this sounds like since ive been loving you, he did a great job of playing in the tone of jimmy page, who are you to disagree?
Nice work guy, I'm now picking up those plans. You take good inspirations from Page's Since I've been loving you's plans. Perhaps you don't play like him (heavy style, all that) but nevermind, everyone has his own style. You play, I think, very well, nice sound ;) ... and there's here good plans to work.
Why do you call this Jimmy Page lessons? Theres a couple of things here Page may do but not done the way he does them. Pages brilliance lies in where he goes with what might be a standard blues riff, how he shapes it unconventionally with bends, phrasing, tone, speed, string position, and squence. This stuff while nicely done sounds like thousands of other blues players out there. Page always sounds like only Page. That's still why very few guitarists(myself included) cover him successfully.
Listen Jimi...yes it's just a video but it's with a misleading title. I complimented the playing but to call it Jimmy Page exercises is simply not accurate it's standard blues licks so call it what it is and don't mislead people into checking something out by calling it something that it isn't. Dont we have enough bullshit in the world? I am a huge fan of Page and I came to this site hoping to get info on playing like Page not some standard blues riffs that's why I made the comment I did.
Why say it's not suppose to be "Since I've Been Loving You" if you put it in the same key, play it at the exact same speed and take licks directly from the song?
