10 years back i was struck by a car in my right ankle from behind. I applied bandage and it was ok. But recently while walking i felt pain suddenly behind my ankel , i did x- ray and everything was normal. But i feel pain in and around may ankle , some time at heel , sometime on top some left side of ankle. can you help me plz.
I'll just get down to brass tacks. I skateboard as a hobby, and frequently sprain my ankles. I've noticed that as time goes on, the sprains occur in closer proximity to each other. That means my ankles are weakened. Does this rebuild ankle strength?
Hello, Sorry for the delayed response. the good thing about these exercises is there is no weight on the foot. try the exercises with a 10lb bar and see how it feels. my sprains were not as serious as yours and consisted of swelling and pain but no tears. ill refund you if it doesnt help.
@SimpleHomeFitness Thanks for that info. But due to the ligament rupture called the anterior inferior tibialfibular ligament I can't put weight on my ankle. The doctor now is looking at putting me into a cast for 8 weeks. Movement in the joint with weight is causing more spread to the tibia and fibula making further tears between them. If I was an athlete they could put a screw in or a band but I was told it has the bast chance of healing if kept imobile and non weight bearing. 5 weeks in.
What stage sprain did you have? I'm currently still 3 weeks in with a stage 3 complete tear of my anterior tibialfibular ligament and class 2 sprain of talofibular ligament. Two doctors and one says PT and the other says no because it could do damage prior to tendon repair. I've done light pt but still told to reduce weight bearing. Only relief I get is resting still. The one that wants me to avoid PT wants to cast it for 6 to 8 weeks. Just looking for shared input.

whats the tibia machine do if you dont have an injured ankle?t ive noticed improved balance(which might be caused from calf exercises too) but other than that it doesnt seem to have any affect
Hi, the tibia machine at the gym is a machine that you slide your foot into and flex the weight up. it has bars for the weight plates on the side. with the resistance bar you just place the spring on top of your foot and flex up.
Are you saying that you have improved balance from doing this exercise? it will certainly give your ankle more stability for running and for me it has made me more resistant to ankle sprains when i play basketball. i used to wear braces on both ankles and now I dont

Hi, Use the 10lb bar and do all three ankle exercises for 5 minutes a day.
at 1 repetition per second you should flex the bar up right or left at least 500 times if not more.
then ice and heat in a bucket of ice water then hot water for 3 min each then do 5 more minutes of the ankle exercises and see how you feel after doing this 3-4 times a week. please respond with your results and post them. thanks

im afraid when i go back to my sports my ankle will give way again,
The sports i do have lots of contact , like Rugby , Mixed Martial arts and gaelic football
