  • i just got the the xl-5 and i blew the motor. time to upgrade to a brushless i guess haha. maybe i shouldnt have used the 5100 battery and stuck with the 3000.

  • @mustang01man Once you go brushless, you'll never go back :)

  • i put talons on mine now just waiting on the speed control cant wait o and is this car durable?

  • some good driving there mate.....

  • is this car completely stock?

  • @uchiha7443

Other than being geared down to 16/86 - pretty much completely stock, yes.

  • that is probaly the worst skate park ive ever seen

  • Little Kid For The Win!!! Lol... Sweet vid

  • dang your useing the hell out of your hood... lol

  • lol all i see in this vid is u crashing.. but no offence mate

  • is it durable and is it have the necessary power to climbing all the ramps?

  • @slash4x4lipo

Yes, quite durable. It has plenty of power to go up the ramps. However, because they are metal, you have to get some momentum beforehand, or you will just spin the tires.

  • i have the same car and i seen it get beter air time then that

  • what is that batteerie

  • what is that blue car on 00. 41

  • @bjornke123456789 It's an old-style (original!) Rustler from before the XL-5 days. We put a new motor in it and stripped the old plastic idler gear just before taking the video (that's why it isn't running in the video.)

  • @bjornke123456789 i think its a rustler but different tires and body.

  • where is that sk\atepark

  • @MegaNickT Norman, OK

  • kenta did a little better

  • 00:09 crash

  • Haha I think David almost beat the record!!

  • awsome where did you get the rustler

  • what were the ppl thinking when they built that? those metal bars would easily knock out someones teeth. otherwise, neat vid

  • that is pretty hard core. i must say. very fluent.

  • lets see the car grind a rail LOL

  • how much does one of those cost?

  • @mattcomo1 i think $175 on rcplanet.com

  • @mattcomo1 Aprox $185

  • Looks pretty fun

  • AWESOME thats in norman i live in tulsa and every saturday we go up to norman for OU games ill have to find where it is!!!

  • Just north of the public library & police station, right beside the railroad tracks.

  • I'm seriously considering buying this truck and it will be my first one. How good is the battery life? And would this be good on dirt? (dry, not mud) Great vid by the way :D

  • Rustler is great on dirt. Battery life is good, especially with VXL models in training mode (which goes as fast as the brushed motors, but with better torque and run-time)

  • get the traxxas slash its more durible and all around better truck with a 3000mah 7-cel batt it will run about 28mph and get about 10min run time

  • i got a slash and a rustler. rustler is faster by a landslide, but slash is a better beginner truck because it is very tough and durable.

  • lol, how many gear sets for ur servo did you have to buy?

  • None. Those servos savers must really do their job. That servo lasted a good long time... at least a good year and a half.

  • hahaha the second driver def won!

  • nice to see someone else in norman that likes to race

  • This vid is neat =] That looks really difficult- props for doing this with a 2wd Traxxas vehicle!

  • i love ur rustler and i weantch them alot when i get mine im taking it 2 the skatepark so ill send u the vid

  • yes traxxas is a good skateboard park because of clean and NO dirty, NO muddy

  • but with the stock gearing , it goes faster than here ,right?and what you sujest for torque?and for top speed of 35mph?

  • You will need to gear it 28/86 with a 7 cell battery to get 35+ speeds. And yes, it would be *way* faster than what you see here! I can't imagine it's even getting much above 15 in this video.

  • cant this car go 35 why dose it look so slow!?!

  • It only looks slow because your eyes are on fast forward.

Seriously - it's geared to go slow, much slower than stock. Gives longer run times, cooler running motor, and faster acceleration off the line. With the short distances involved at a skatepark, it'd be silly to gear up.

  • yea i kinda read other comments after i oposted this 1!

well i might buy like the same car

whats with the gears u can replace them?

what all do i need or it all comes in the box!?!

  • You have lots of gearing options. It comes with a couple of different gears, but I'd buy a few extra (smaller) pinions, which are only ~$3 each. That'll give you lots of options to change gearing depending on what you're doing, where you're driving, etc. I had on hand 16T, 19T, 23T, and 28T pinions.

  • how do u get rustler to do wheelies (xl-5) not brushless?

  • by gearing low, and giving plenty of volts and amps. In other words, small pinion + 7 or 8 cell battery of decent quality build. (a Venom battery probably doesn't qualify!)

  • when u got it was it already made??

  • Yes. Traxxas only makes RTR (Ready to Run) vehicles - no kits. All you need is batteries and a charger.

  • what battery brand would you recomend?

  • SPC is great, especially the ENER-G 4600 cells. If you can construct your own packs - you can buy cells and make your own packs relateively cheaply.

  • ahahah that is awesome

  • you need some street treads

  • Agreed. Or, at least just *some* treads... instead of worn out/bald stock tires. I'll be getting some new tires soon.

  • Great video! Some nice driving there!

  • how many people were at the park?

  • Lol, very nice vid, but doent listen to poor misguided gustavohuink, just go BL. Cheaper, faster, better.

  • Buy a Nitro Car =D BTW great video
