And if they do make a film, they don't stay true to the franchise, so hardcore fans give the film a wide berth, while non- gamers pass it by for a regular fanboy's "thingy", so the film normally ends up in no man's land [e.g., Prince Of Persia film]

There's cases like avatar, where the game sucked. It's just that Games and films have different approaches to the same thing(game puts you in the boots; movie pulls you along for the ride). ...Personally, I liked Halo: ODST the most out of all the Halo games, but maybe just just me liking a little bit more stealth as opposed to being Master Chief and just being able to jump into the middle of any battle :/ It was a change of pace from the usual Halo game, and for that I think ODST deserves a little recognition. About 5 spartans or so are still left there, along with Dr. Halsey and Admiral Whitcomb, who plants a NOVA planet-killer bomb into a covenant carrier. In the next book, taking place before Halo3, the Nova bomb detonates over the covenant home world, destroying it.
@Alien11Boy Brutes kill the Elite's leadership caste and a lot of their warrior and take their place in the Covenant. So Elite allie with the humans to end the war.

@simplemindz1 its just a different type of handgun that makes less sound than other halo handguns, the addition to the SMG is used for close ~ mid range targets since they dont use battlerifles, the assaultrifle is their smg in a way since they lack the phisique to wield 2 weapons

this game was great, and one of the only other games i liked other than halo 1 and Reach. just because it wasnt jumping into crowds of covenant and unrealistically eliminating them all, doesnt mean it wasnt great. for mature players, the eerie, alone, darkness was very sastisfying. and it depicted out the lifestyle of this soldier very well, along, with a very satisfying story. this was a large improvement from halo 2 and 3 imo. only downside to me was the shortness of the story. bungie was dumb

The point of the game was to have you deal with situations with tactics other than 'Shoot fist, think later' as with most other conflicts in Halo. Played on legendary you'll find that some of the Rookie's missions are far more rewarding if you think up some strategy first.
However, it didn't suit the style as well as it could have and it would have been fun to have a team of ODSTs fighting through waves of covenant to push to some kind of goal together. Still, was kinda fun.

this game was great, and one of the only other games i liked other than halo 1 and Reach. just because it wasnt jumping into crowds of covenant and unrealistically eliminating them all, doesnt mean it wasnt great. for mature players, the eerie, alone, darkness was very sastisfying. and it depicted out the lifestyle of this soldier very well, along, with a very satisfying story. this was a large improvement from halo 2 and 3 imo. only downside to me was the shortness of the story. bungie was dumb

The point of the game was to have you deal with situations with tactics other than 'Shoot fist, think later' as with most other conflicts in Halo. Played on legendary you'll find that some of the Rookie's missions are far more rewarding if you think up some strategy first.
However, it didn't suit the style as well as it could have and it would have been fun to have a team of ODSTs fighting through waves of covenant to push to some kind of goal together. Still, was kinda fun.
