The original version bristles with disdain and contempt..

I'm sure you/they do great covers of lots of different Cure material but the tone of this one seems to kinda miss the point of the lyrics - or undermines them, at least in my humble opinion anyway.

Having said that, I'm the world's worst bass player and a big believer in playing for oneself and the joy of it.
