  • That Spahnnie looked like a beauty! I'm a Phillies fan and I love that '62 Callison card with the Connie Mack Stadium signage in the background. Johnny's career and life were too short, but the nice thing is that the cards make them all live forever.

  • luv the vid

  • Love this video.

  • Very cool! How much did you play for the box? Would love to have watched you rip open the entire box.

  • It's funny how much Hardy looks like Maris in that picture

  • 62 Spahn...did you get it graded? I like the woodies, I'm interested to see if you got the Spahn graded.

  • The good old days, when most of the players knew how to speak English.

  • @DwighttFrye Hi racist...What does speaking English have to do with playing baseball?

  • I cam to this video...

  • Nice

  • thank you for sharing this experience ..as soon as i pay off some old college debt in 2 years ill be clearing over 700$ a month after bills andi plan on doing alot of vintage pack breaks on youtube since it would be fun for me and of course fun for the viewers..any plans on doing any more of these?

  • @sciontcdude I opened up over 100 packs before I ever thought of taping any. I may do a couple more, but not soon. Thanks, Bill

  • where did u get the pack at

  • @kevinww2 Hi. That is just one of the packs from the lot of full hobby boxes of 1960s Topps Baseball cello packs I got from an old toy store. They were stored away for about 40+ years before they were uncovered and offered to me.. Bill

  • I'll take a Spahn any day of the week. Perhaps the greatest pitcher ever.

  • I'll take the Warren Spahn

  • i notice that the cards are curved. does this diminish their value? or do they become straight again after putting them in a top loader. sorry if this question is dumb, but I am new to collecting.

  • @philaboston Hi. Some of the cards are slightly curved from age, but it does not affect value or grade and they do flatten out easily in a top loader or PSA grading slab. Bill

  • nice hit on the spahn but damn dude your allowed to get a little excited over it lol

  • @redzebra16 After opening up over 100 of these packs, the Spahn was actually a disappointment...

  • @decobill ok i hear you there man i understand had that feeling many of times...good luck on your next pack

  • That's a nice Spahn. Worth like 30 bucks!

  • @RayzWin make that 35$

  • Nice pappas. I wanted that. I got some 1962 topps myself. Got a Clemente and a mantle soooooo very lucky. Sick Warren!

  • Hi, i love this pack, great cards! i need a Pags and Hardy PSA 5 or better, I'm a REDSOX collector. Regards, Bill

  • @3443bh Hi. I have ungraded a #101 Hardy and a #81 Pagliaroni, both are 1962 Topps and are fresh out of cello packs and should grade at least a PSA 6 or 7 each. Let me know if you are interested. Bill

  • Cool stuff. Thanks for sharing. I have to say though, the combination of white gloves and no sound is a little freaky...

  • @dzolot I completely agree with you, but I had reasons for both.

  • hello i was wondering if tose were for trade

  • @THEPHILLIESROCK1 I trade my PSA graded 1961 and 1962 cello packs for other 1960s high PSA grade cello packs of different years, but I have almost everything right now. I do need a 1963 pack in a high PSA grade if you can find one.

  • I absolutely love how they are going back to the classic style card looks now a days. These cards are classic.

  • wow, now I have seen it all!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hi Bill. Thanks for sharing this! I'm a 1962 Topps collector and have won some of your cards on ebay. So, what did the Spahn grade?

  • I did not get a chance to send it in yet, but even though it is nicely centered, there are some printing defects on that card. Bill

  • @doncogi Hi. The Spahn graded a PSA 7 mostly based on a few vertical printing error lines.

  • Great looking Spahn, nice pull.

  • Nice find!!

  • What kind of grades have you gotten for some of the packs?

  • I probably submitted over 50 packs and have gotten grades from PSA 6 to PSA 10, but most were probably PSA 8s or 9s since I tried to pick out the best ones to send in. I got a few PSA 10s in the 1961 packs, but for the 1962 cellos, the best I got back was a few PSA 9s. The two packs I opened for these videos would have graded a 6 or less since there were at least minor cello tears at the corners or along one side.

  • Very cool. Nice pack and thanks for posting!

  • Why does it say there is purposely no volume yet I hear sound?

  • Since I did not talk through the video I was going to remove all sound, but forgot to. I suppose what I should have stated is that there was purposely no talking throughout this video. I hope this clears things up for you. Bill

  • very cool, thanks for sharing!

  • Very cool! Thanks for sharing.

Quick question though. What is the wax box in the picture from?

  • Hi. That is just one of the full hobby boxes of 1960s Topps Baseball cello packs I got when I first bought these cards. Bill

  • Thanks Bill. Again, neat neat stuff!

  • Why is there purposely no volume? It would be nice to hear your insights on the cards and how you came about them while you open it. Just a thought. But great break, fun to see those opened, and get that Spahn graded!

  • I tried to talk through it at first, but just wasn't good at "public speaking" so I spared everyone the agony of listening to my voice while I stumbled through the process...

  • @joegrimesofcourse

    why?

should he have coverd it with music?

i love the no sound..to many people feel the have to put music or talk over everything...

    the cards speak for themselves!!!

  • Wow, nice Spahn!

    Again, thanks for sharing.
