I mostly agree with you about Resident Evil 5. But I will say this: if you watched the initial trailer they released and you didn't know it was a game about zombies, it looked really, really racist. That was how it was for me. I didn't know it was a zombie game. So it was just some white guy going into a village filled with palpably evil stereotypes of black savages, and then killing them all when they went nuts and tried to murder him for no reason.

Apparently this information allowed me to be able to criticize the Israeli state in her eyes. I find that contradictory.

I do feel though that racism is so rooted in this country partly because it is institutionalized. A lot of communities of minorities are like vacuums that don't allow their members to break free from the cycle. It's nice to look at someone different and find them beautiful - be they white, black or whatever shade. Two of the things you mentioned are things I heard members of my (white and conservative) family bitching about a couple days ago: the over-reaction to Resident Evil 5 and only white burglars in home security commercials.
It is so unfortunate that some people (with a typically conservative mindset) will see these things and come back with their own over-reaction: "Why are liberal blacks whining about a video game set in Africa?! See, proof that they all want special rights!"
Ugh. It's just sad.

I was bitching about the racist/sexist over-reactions that some conservatives have when they see any sensitivity displayed toward minorities and/or women. Even when that sensitivity is a little overdone, it still doesn't merit any of the nasty racist/sexist bullshit reactions I've seen.

Most white nationalists oppose homosexuality in European/Euro-American people because it threatens the reproduction of the 'white race'. Low birthrate in this demographic is an often cited cause for dispair umoungst the WN fraternity. Add to that the idea that homosexuality is something that can be indoctirated into people via the education system and media propaganda machine (controlled by the 'international jew' of course).

Cristofer, I don't know if you are away of this, but I live in Germany. It is literally a crime in Germany to question the validity of certain facts surrounding the holocaust story. This is what could be seen as a freedom of speech violation in America. There are also similar laws in Europe. My point is that concerning Jews, you can never criticize or condemn them without consequences. That has to do with their dominant positions in the shaping the ideas and policies of the world.

I think that most people, especially if they have never served in the military (I have) don't really understand the nuances in the military. Unfortunately kind sir, the military is a totally different atmosphere. You are correct about rape, it is a big problem in the military. So- called straight men would rape openly gay men,(not vice versa) similar to the prison system in the U.S. The military has the same type of vicious masculine pursuit of dominance. It just can't work.

A couple of comments cristofer. I believe it is wise to consider the history of racism as a world-wide institutional hegemony rather than isolated episodes of dissatisfaction. So I believe it is nearly impossible to overshadow the history, past and present institutions, as well as modern day applications of racism. There is not enough complaining which could nullify this blood shed. I believe people are being more vocal about their disdain for racial gripes. It is an unsympathetic world..

I totally agree with you Cristofer7 the pendulum has definitely swung too far the other way. Dr. Manfred Gerstenfeld said to TV2 (a Norwegian TV station) that Norway is the most antisemitic nation in Europe because we had a big demonstration against the war in Gaza. That makes me sick because we have, not many but some, real antisemitic and overall racist fucktards in Norway and he's lumping war protesters in with them. Plus it gives the racist fuckers a feeling that there's more of them.

If the argument that bigotted, homophobic people will be less likely to join the military if open homosexuals are allowed might be true, then I would have to oppose open homosexuality in the military in order to push that further, slight, deselective pressure on the bigotted demographic because I detest bigotry. Why should the government have such control? If everyone had a shotgun, I'm sure it wouldn't be a good idea for an army to enter the area, especially if neighborhoods pre-plan a defence structure for just such an occurence.

You have a point. Because in the 1980's, the Soviets lost against the Afghans, which is pretty sad because the Soviet Union had a large Army. A neighborhood defense structure would be good, but you'll have to anticipate the invading Army's logistics, it's support, and it's plans on invading. You'll have to deduce whether the enemy is landing by air, sea, or ground too.

Yeah, air would be a difficult one, since I'm sure not too many families will want to leave a rocket launcher in their closet for little johnny to play with :) But I think it could be planned out, and without taxes paid to the military, think of how much better life would be. I really don't think a government would risk entering such a place: free people armed to the teeth ready to defend their families and everything they love. It's actually a no-brainer who will win in my opinion.

I think if we looked at RV's ancestry we'd find a little more variety than he would like to admit. Most of the "white" nationalists are anything but "white". I can't speak for Christopher but I believe the point here is that given similar circumstances, the range of possible ensuing behaviors is the same for any two people regardless of things like race or nationality.
Even two identical twins, raised in the same home, will come away from life with different experiences. But humans are humans regardless of race and the same potentialities exist within any two people, discounting of course for biological differences unrelated to the color of skin.

It's nice to look at someone different and find them beautiful - be they white, black or whatever shade. Not all people look at things that are different and see it as odd or bad or less than, etc. Actually, maybe it's the minority who see different as bad or less than now. Hopefully most people will see different as good soon.
