As much as I think AR15 pistols are silly there is a purpose. That purpose if you can have a barrel less than 16'' without having to file an ATF form 1. Because of the buffer tube, and it not being considered a buttstock by the ATF, it is like having an "SBR exempt" (so to speak) short barreled AR15.

@gumptionman just get a tarp lay it down where you be shooting.. thats what i started doing... i mean having almost 10 firearms out per shooting and firing couple thousand rounds a shoot.. yeah definitely invest in a big tarp! not to mention gives a nice clear firing line and keeps ya clean for the prone shots=3

Do you know how the gun works? The bolt is in there going back and forth. Sure you could take it off. Just make sure you make that one shot count.
