  • You can't go wrong w/ a rear entertainment system

  • where the "F" is the Mitsubishi RVR GT! BS!

  • The Journey and Equinox is a lot bigger than the rest they shouldn't even be included in this test. Besides, bigger isn't always better.

  • The Kia should have won..clearly it is the best looking out of all the SUV's up there.

But I can see the Chevy winning it..it was clearly the best bargain up there :)

  • Good review! Thanks

  • What a shame...The Kia drives terribly..looks great. Subaru forester is the best overall vehicle in the pack. If you include, visibilty, safety, handling, cargo capacity, clearance, superior awd system to the competitors etc...

  • Now, I've never driven an Equinox, but I have driven plenty of Chevy's sedans, and their interiors are terrible! Whenever I see a Chevy interior I have flashbacks of a Cobalt base-- and throw up in my mouth.

  • The main problem with most of the not selected finalists, were that The Escape, Rav4, CRV, and Rogue are all very dated. They need their midproduction refresh, or a complete redo. And the equinox is the newest update other than the sportage. But you cant pit kia quality with a grain of salt. Familywise The Equinox has the safety of onstar standard, and that interior is dead on sexy

  • Where's the totally reliable best handling suv with the most advanced all wheel drive system Mitsubishi outlander?

  • lack of credibility....who paid for this review.USA auto association.

  • technically the equinox is in a whole other segment, only this new generation is smaller, putting it amoung the cute-utes.

  • They should've brought the 4Runner in. I'm guessing that the only reason they didn't is because it would be unfair.

  • @taitai907 No, because these are not real SUVs, this is for soccer mom, and have no ability off road whatsoever. As the mad said 8 out of 9 of them are front wheel drive... Don't tarnish the likes of the 4Runner by comparing them these crossovers.

  • Hmmmm, good point.

  • why isnt the escape in top 4?!

  • best part 0:00-0:03

  • wow...dodge?..really?....this was a bad comparison.. the list should go

    1. subaru

    2. honda

    3. toyota

    4.ford

  • @coandcaiv My god you are absolutely correct. These fools don't know what they're talking about. Clarkson, Hammond, and May would be turning in their graves if they were dead.

  • Remember, cars.com and USA Today were the ones who rated this list. Your opinion or decision on your next car probably won't reflect cars.com, USA Today, or Motorweek.

  • crappy review, wasting my time

  • that Kia looks nice!

  • id go with the subie

  • Where the hell is the Volkswagen Tiguan? That's what I would buy!

  • @cabrioglx yup me too.

  • @cabrioglx

The Tiguan did not qualify for this because the max price is $29K. To match each of these features of those that were compared, the Tiguan is one of the most expensive small SUVs around. The fully loaded Sportage tested was around $27K, the Tiguan with the similar features is around $33K.

  • @76carmel Check your research. On Chevy's site "build and price" Equinox LTZ - it starts at $30,070. The Sportage with AWD and "premium interior" package shoots up to a chilling (for a Kia) $31,999. In any case, max price is a poor excuse to exclude cars from a comparo. The Tiguan is more expensive, but it's more car. Have you driven one? Please do if you're shopping! Maybe I'm insulting the Tiguan by asking it to be included in this comparo!

  • i have #3 and i love it :)

  • I was cracking up when I saw Joey Lawrence, I'm not going to take that sissy actor's word for buying a 30,000 SUV

  • I love how at 5:03, GM makes no radiator fill available, and the pressurized overflow tank is black so you can't see your coolant level or its color

  • American SUV's ftw! don't park your Japanese car or "SUV" behind me, park it in Tokyo!!! The Journey is the best in my opinion with the powerull V6, nice interior, rugged looks, flexible and practical interior with nice seat arrangments. The Chevy looks a bit too bland in my opinion, tough the interior is great looking and roomy. The Ford is very good looking to me because it has real American SUV-ish looks, great fuel economy and good proven quality and dependability.

  • The Journey surprise me, i didn't expect the car be that good !

  • b-o-r-i-n-g

  • I looove the Journey. ...and the Equinox.

  • What a joke. They put the two biggest vehicles in the top spots. What is with Americans and their obsession with space? I'd rather have a lighter more nimble vehicle over a overweight pig.

  • @xoquixxoqafxo and cramped.

  • @undeadkillers

The CRV is small and def not cramped on the inside.

  • @xoquixxoqafxo I'd rather get a RAV4 instead of a CRV at all costs (especially the V6).

  • @undeadkillers

ugh the Rav may be fast with the V6 but the cheap interior bugs me soo bad, it looks like a rental car on the inside and enterprise actually carries them for ppl to rent! lol

  • Why didn't they rank five of the other contenders?

  • Hmm American Companies make good SUV's weird. I actually am surprised that the Dodge beat out the Ford.

  • gm paid them.........again.

  • @MrCarGuy20 No they just chose shit cars. but i think the Escape should have good atleast 2nd

  • @MrCarGuy20

GM HATERS! when GM puts up a class leading vehicle, u just cant accept it.

  • The dodge journey is gonna leave hella door dings with doors opening that wide

  • @PiNoYEp3SI

I also don't necessary compare the Journey to the Equinox or this list. The Journey to me is more like a minivan alternative. Its main comparison to me is the Mazda5.

  • LOL they pick kia as the 3rd place?????? LMAO...... that shit cant even idle right all those rough and weird sounds .....

  • @erdoganog You'd be surprised how reliable those fuckers are.

  • @erdoganog What rough and weird sounds? I heard none of that.

  • Comment removed

  • Really shocked about the Dodge ranking so high.

  • ...and Joey Lawrence? How random is that?! Hey MW - I hear Haley Joel Osment likes cars, too!

  • @radudeATL Took the words out of my mouth. Random!

  • @radudeATL

His car of choice; he owns a really large SUV, a Ford Flex. His Flex is somewhere in one of these YouTube pages.

  • Chevy Dodge 1-2 i like the kinda shocked LOL...i wonder who came in last...hmmmm

  • I love the Journey!

  • Looks like America's learning!

  • this is what i being waiting for!!!!!! can you do a $45,000 SUV/CUV shootout?

  • American cars are making a come back especially dodge even though the journey didn't win this dodge is improving there quality

  • the escape looks the most suvish...but the sportage looks the best.

  • kia looks really nice, but they should make a sport version with 50+ more hp to go along with the aggressive styling - perhaps even put in a manual transmission

  • @poopeater14

whoa! A manual transmission in a vehicle for the US market lets not get any crazy ideas here. The key to the American market is, great exterior styling, shit everything else, especially gas mileage and transmission choices.

I really wish more Americans though like you, then maybe we could have more then 1/4 of the cars in the market offered with a manual transmission.
