Goddammit, I wish that I could have been born an authentic cajun, a samurai or a fuckin't gypsy. Anything other than a north dallas consumer. Please keep Lafayette CAJUN !!! Do not support giant corporations. Please!!! Support your local cajun business and resurrect the beauty of the land. The land that gave the cajuns their strength, music and soul. I will now drink more wine and pretend that this means something.
Ca sent bon nos vieilles racines. On se croirait dans les fins fonds du Berry. Que c'est bon de voir préservées les chants de nos lointains ancêtres.
It's smell very good as our old roots of the deep Berry. Wonder to see the old songs of our far ancestors well preserved in this country with nice old french names of the deepest France. I hate Napoleon.
That Dirk can sure play that thing all of these people look like a nice bunch and are sure enjoying them self's I'd like to know what Christine is saying because the bass player has a big smile after the second verse this tune has got to be one of the best tunes on here I've listened to a lot of the other ones but these people out done them self's on this one.
Never been on this far on the other side of the lake... except to visit my cousins in Breaux Bridge. I live down on the Northshore, over round Manchac.
LOL, I grew up in Ville Platte and often "visited" L'anse aux pailles. Great little community grocery store there with the best slogan ever....cold beer+hot boudin=good company
Don't forget the lovely and wonderful Linda Castle on fiddle, and I think I got a peak at the also L&W Scooter on guitar. Any gathering profits from their presence.
Thanks tons for this vid; I'm working on this song right now.
This is Christine Balfa - guitar, Dirk Powell, accordion --- check out "Balfa Toujours", their group, and also the original version by the Balfa Brothers, you're in for a treat!
