  • MCABE WITHOUT RICHARD ASHCROFT WILL NEVER BE AS REAL AS THIS...ASHCROFT IS THE VERVE..MCABE NEEDS ASHCROFT....ASHCROFT DOES NOT NEED MCABE...THE VERVE ..LOSING ASHCROFT IS LIKE REPLACING DARTH VADER....ASHCROFT HAS SO MUCH TALENT...AND I WISH TO GOD I COULD MEET HIM ONE DAY...RICHARD YOU ARE A ICON..AND YOU MADE MY LIFE BETTER EACH TIME YOU PUT A NEW RECORD OUT..DO I WISH THE VERVE WERE STILL A GROUP YES...BUT I UNDERSTAND NOT GETTING ALONG....ME AN MY BROTHER CANT BE IN THE SAME ROOM OR ITS WAR

  • The Unit

  • yeaah i miss The Unit

  • Played in the Unit, S4E19

    Deep stuff.

  • I miss The Verve :(

  • even on an inconsistent album like Forth, the verve can still write a song that is well out of reach of just about any other band. Stunning music.

  • I never saw a smile in Ashcroft's face

  • @TheFamiliaMuitoLoka You do see him fighting one on the music video for Bitter Sweet Symphony! ;)

  • This song will be played at my funeral !!

  • Six people don't have that real soul.

People - let's acknowledge greatness when we see it. The Verve may never get back together, but their work will digitally outlive all of us. If Appalacian Springs doesn't move you, you've got something wrong with you. My opinion at least.

  • best song ever!

  • THANKS...

  • wheres footage from................great song

  • Música e sensilbilidade....

  • AMO esta canción,

    AMO a Ashcroft.

  • step to the dreams

  • pure class!!!!!!!ashcroft for ever!!

  • shit

  • I listened to this song on a plane above the alps. great experience (:

  • i think that the verve can stand up to any classical composer as far as class and skill are concerned.

  • even if i would be fat i could walk this trail with this music in my ears

  • stfu about oasis, they are fierce competitors but i'm going to side with the verve, all oasis has is wonderwall in 1995, thats all they are known for to the average person today. period...

  • Look at the album cover, epic like all these songs,

  • Awsome song :P

It was on an episode from "The Unit"

    Season 4 Episode 19 : Whiplash

    Great song indeed hehe ;)

  • @Natureboyzz That's where I heard it as well... great song, and a great show.

  • Congratulations... you have just won a free nintendo wii

  • orgasmic

  • Omg, this give me a musical orgasm, what a song...

  • @AlvarezGeorge Haha it's a cool song for sure, sticks in your head :)

  • This is fucking class!

  • AMAZINGGGGGGG

  • What a song ? . What a voice ? What a video ?.....Just..what ?...I really love life with the verve.

  • He always owns the songs he sings. Spectacular artist. One of the best every, yet he seems like he is oppressed by the music industry elite.

  • magical, what the fuck is he doing with the UNS now? the Verve were godlike

  • Didn't realie the Verve had so much good music out. While I'm no fan of the new YouTube format, I do like the fact it groups similar sounding music which I can just let run. It has exposed me to so much more than I might've stumbled upon indiviually clicking. So much crap out these days, it's great to run up on something from the past which turns out to be sort of new if never having heard it before. A win win.

  • lol at about 2:20 you can hear back ground spam saying "you have won blah blah"

You have to be more careful with things like that when your sharing a video ;)

  • the video for this vid sucks

  • a great album ending. The Verve are all great.

  • richard ashcroft is working with ian brown at the moment and will plat at oxygen this year

  • Where did you get this info from?

  • from a very close sorce

  • maravillosa

  • maravillosa no... hermosa.... xD

  • great album, great song

  • Lol, some of the lyrics are Cliche, but Ashcroft's singing's great, and it, like other songs on the album remind me of the kind of mood that was found in Gravity Grave.

  • fantastic track

  • Was this ever played live? Any footage on youtube?

  • Sadly not, hopefully there will be a day when they will and I witness it. Fantastic song from a fantastic band.

  • truly, is that nick mccabe at 3:04? it doesn't look like him for some reason.

  • i believe this footage was taken at the time nick wasnt with the band during the second leg of the urban hymns tour when they were touring seattle and canada. ya know when nick left the band because of a rift with richard.

  • where are the clips starting from 2:41 taken from? looks like a tour in the states. wow.

  • A top song off Forth. I don't know how one lives without The Verve's music...

  • WONDER WERE THEY WERE TOWARDS THE END

  • love it

  • The worst part is this song has nothing to do with the wind ensemble, Appalachian Spring.

  • Very profound!

  • you are talking about undeground and mainstream.you have no idea.this is mainstream also.and not very innovative.

the verve sounds always the same.

    its just boring.

  • so why do u comment under the video of theis song if its that boring to u....richard aschcroft is one of the most talented song and lyric writer in the whole world and this can beeasily proved just by listening to his songs...who could thought of such a genious melod in the song bittersweet melody or appalachian springs?and I have many more examples like that...so plz if u dont like them just dont watch them and dont tell em boring because u cant recognise the masterpieces they have created..

  • it will be years my friend before these masterpieces are appreciated

  • wow what a loser it takes to comment on the verve videos when u dont like them.

    now thats boring

    And really sad

  • top tune!!

favourite from forth....1st time i heard this song was in switzerland after mountaineering!..top song 4 a top day!!

  • Awesome song!!!!

  • I hope that music like this is continued to be made. Not this pop crap that is dominating the charts all over the world. The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Queen, Pink Floyd and The Stone Roses have gone, Oasis reached their peak in the 90s, it looks as though both The Verve and Radiohead are splitting up...the only really good band we've got left is Coldplay...let's hope they don't turn mainstream on us.

  • unfortunately coldplay have turned mainstream already..

  • Simply Brilliant.... This song takes me to a an unknown good world... very psychedelic

  • What a song, ooooh. Can`t stop to listening it.

The Verve is a new Pink Floyd.

  • pure class. The Verve forever...

  • pure class...best tune on the new album by a mile......they look like they are splitting up again though

  • Richard ashcroft is the new Lennon!!

que espectacular!! canción del grupo "The Verve"

  • Comment removed

  • really psychedelic song.. great!!

  • Why have they been so under rated all these years? The band is absolutely amazing, this is what real music is, this is what real talent is. Not those fucking puppets you see on MTV who don't even right their own songs.

Richard Ashcroft is the greatest singer and song writer of the modern era.

  • Yeaaah Come on!

  • I agree .. The Verve have to be one of the most underrated bands of all time.

The only band of the modern era that come close are Radiohead.

  • It will not be till Ashcroft is long gone before the world realizes his talent! He is a shaman and maybe the greatest poet since ian curtis.

    GOD LISTENS TO THE VERVE!

  • @wtfisjesus

Find a new handle? If you don't have faith or know anything about Jesus, you'd probably look better and not cause such inflamation with such a name, especially on a song from your boy Rich.

  • @wtfisjesus they're not underrated. they are probably one of the most influential bands in the UK. Yes, Richard is a genius....

  • @wtfisjesus MTV still exists?

  • @wtfisjesus mtv has like no music.what are you talking about? MTV is a reality show channel now.sadly.

  • @wtfisjesus you got it dude your got it right

  • @wtfisjesus Couldn't agree more man!!

  • @wtfisjesus dude your so right man they dont even know what is the song a bout when they sing it

  • wats up with the random advertising in the audio?

  • I dont have Idea, when i download the song in august of 2008, the advertising was there...

  • this song is the best for thier new album the forth, but bittersweet symphony in thier album urbyn hymms is the best out of everything

  • exelente video =P

  • omg....is all the song from the verve beautiful or what??

  • i love this oneeeeeeeeeeeeeeee....the verve rockkkkkk, all their songs are just mind blowingggg... ohhhh so lovleh

  • Best song ever wrote by anyone called richard. or anyone called anyone.

Why can't all song writers be this good...

  • aaayy this song spin my heart and soul, not only the lyrics ,but the music in this song!good song for driving away from problems

  • What concert is the footage from?

  • from 0: 14 to 0:40 (Glastonbury 1994)

    0:40 to 1:15 (Oxegen 2008)

    1: 37 to 2: 30 (Glastonbury 2008)

from there, I take a verve personal video from usa Tour 1998...

  • thanks Mate, well done,

  • Yeah you cant beat the Verve and depression. Love Will Tear Us Apart by joy Division is good "downer music" though

  • top banana!!

  • Fantastic song!!!!

  • one of my 2 favorites songs in Forth

  • nick mcabe is by far the most creative guitarist outhere.

  • the best song in Forth

  • god i cant wait til they play this song live! MIND FUCKIN BLOWING!!!!!

  • The Verve, best band after Pink Floyd.

  • great but underrated song! one of my favorites from their new album

  • amazin tune

  • where's this interview about this?

  • Where did you get the footage from?

  • hey he's no longer in the band 4:12

  • Fuckin Right! Love The Verve!

  • the outro to this song is amazing... the last 2 minutes

  • Thought this was the most Verve sounding song on the record. The other seemed more like they came off of Richard's solo albums. I think they need to bring out Nick Mcabe's guitars more. His guitar playing is what gave the Verve they're signature sound.

  • Not that I disagree but Richards solo efforts certainly were no garbage. I think Nick's space/atmospheric sounding guitar along with Richards voice will always be one of the best sounding combos in music. Such a sound!

  • No, I like Richard's solo records, I have them all. I just think that they have a different sound than the Verve.

  • I love the Mccabe interview about this, apparently he really pushed it and credited the vocals as Ashcroft's best performance to date and really pushed the band to get this track right. Every single lick he is completely real and it's great to know they didn't just reform purely for a quick buck

  • The verve have re-defined themselves.I'm loving the evolution of such a great band.

  • The most beautiful song from "Forth"

Shivers down my spine all the time

    Gio

  • Best song in years.

  • i love the verve and always have done, gosh i do love this song, their new album is pure and truly amazing :)

  • Already one of my all-time favorites. It gives me the same feeling as "Weeping Willow." Some sort of sadness...

I wish I could see them live, but they will never come here. This song must kick so much ass in person. It already sounds out of this world when I turn it up on my headphones.

  • why upload the song with that shit advertisement at 2:19?

  • mmm the song already have it :S so i don't know... I download it 2 weeks before the album was realeased.... maybe this is not the official song...

  • I have that same error on the version of the album I downloaded... maybe some sort of copy protection bs? Amazing song, can't stop listening to it...

  • Pure magic.....

  • Pieza Maestra!

  • sit and wonder pisses on this...has the groove and hook

  • nice song man, typical of the band

  • omg¡¡¡really incredible¡¡¡ magic the verve

  • fucking brilliant

  • best song since weeping willow

  • the guitar work on this song is similar to radioheads in rainbows album. This song is a masterpeice

  • *goes to get In Rainbows*

  • the best song of the album

  • any official vid

    ?

  • nope

  • Any guitarists know the chord sequence to this?

  • try... Bminor/G/A/G and if you want quickly whip in another A before repeating!!!

  • I dont like the voice of 2:18 - 2:33

  • yeah wtf is that? i was listening with headphones and thought another browser was up but no, it's in the song. wtf?

  • That's some kinda error on here, it doesn't show up on the CD version of the song.

  • That's some kinda error on here, it doesn't show up on the CD version of the song.

  • thankful everyones efforts! does anyone know where i can listern to track 9 columbo. cant wait till i get it tommorow.

  • IM GOING TO UPLOAD COLUMBO IN 30 MIN :D

  • richard just gets sexier and sexier with time & the band continues to get better & better. i'm always amazed by them.

  • The Verve do it again, they are truely the band band.......xoxoxoxoxo

  • shit hot

  • Great music! This album is as good as any other previous work the verve have made. It only needs time to sink in. In time it will be remembered as such. It is immmensely well elaborated for my taste. To get the full effect, try to listen to this song very loud, specially from minute 2:24 to minute 5:00, It'll blow your mind! You won't regret it. It's just an amazing tune. I get goosebumps when i play this song in my car. ...Oh my God, it's so unbelievable. Brilliant song!

  • this song is great...

  • by the way the last minute and a half of this song is gorgeous.

  • Well I like the new album. I think I probably, like most people, anticipated something gigantic but the album is pretty strong. They've never done anything like Columbo, which is my favorite song on the album, and Noise Epic. I like that they moved from the ballads of Urban Hymns, although the ballads were great, and created something like Northern Soul but different.

  • Pity Mc Cabe and Ashcroft cant co-exist, they make a good songwriting team

  • can't wait for the album to release here in the states. 3 more days! definitely buying it.

  • As stunning a track as Sit and Wonder. Pity about the rest of the album. These two tracks are the only songs that make the hairs on the back of the neck stand up. By the Verve's standards, they've gone from sublime to human. I would rather have waited twice as long for this album to grow into a finished masterpiece.

  • cant wait for the album
