He has always been surrounded by a lavish lifestyle what changed is he stopped rapping for his love of the art and started doing it to stay on top of the charts.

the reason why drake switched up his style is cus it would appeal to the mainstream. All real hip hop heads luv this drake version. But main stream equals autotune and making more and more music for the ladies which the ladies luv and they actually buy his albums. Thats why he switched it up. Tho I prefer pre autone era of drake. Thank me Later was cool and you can see how his lyrics and music styles has changed alot but I don't think that's gonna cause him to fade into obscurity regardless of what it used to be he's still a great artist.
