@Jtherva I'm Canadian, and yes I am a Muslim now (converted two weeks ago) so my opinion is biased. However, even as a Christian, I understood that the West is the enemy of Monotheistic Religions, being Islam, Judaism and Christianity. Jews,Muslims,Christians, we are all the same, we worship the same God, follow the same values, same prophets, same word. Everything that is valued in The West (Money,power,sex,disrespect for womem) defies our values, and what Allah has laid out for us to follow.
