I am harried from us- or european music. For me it is heaven on earth to hear your music, i do not understand the words but i love the voices and the sound of asian pop or rock or hip-hop. But to love ASIA is a big problem here in germany. ....

theres still loads of ppl listen to cantonese music,, and i mean loads... all my uk fdz they loved cantonese music,, because the voices are different from foreign singers,, its not great,, but is soft and comfortable to hear if u chose the right one to listen

It's same as the Western side. But East Asian go by Last Name first and 2 chinese-characters first name.
Not much Westerners like things that are associated with Chinese nowadays. I'm glad you are the one.

Yeah, East Asian names are very hard, but Japanese names are easier. Actually, 8 out of 10 Hongkongers use English first names instead of Chinese first names, because we all want to avoid that ugly-sounded romanized name. Only parents call them in Chinese first names.

China Chinese love using Mandarin romanization on Hong Kong celebs, so you get two romanization names.

Treat Cantonese and Mandarin as two languages, just like French and Spanish, but both languages use the same writing system - chinese character. Hong Kong born Chinese use Cantonese romanization while China born Chinese use Mandarin romanization. We only have romanization in birth certificate.

Chinese government only use Mandarin as official language and they suppress Cantonese, so every Han Chinese have to use Mandarin romanization. Hong Kong use cantonese romanization because the British didn't care about what Chinese language people used to romanize their names.
People are quite afraid that Cantonese the language will extinct because the Chinese government suppress it. They allow Tibetan to use their own language but not Southern Chinese.
