HSDK has been around for years as a manga. Its not all that new to some people. I started reading it in 05 I think and it only had about 70 chapters. They put the anime characters for HSDK over the top, way to intense.

I know, they should roll with this series than Naruto. Sexy jutsu, ha. This series cuts the chase and fillers. The female characters are way cooler than Naruto's female. Some of them act like man, not cool.

I believe that if they make a continuation into the Yami arc and have a ending, Kenichi can be just as successful as Avatar The last airbender. Authentic use of martial arts, ideals and life lessons: the effect of bullying, courage, friendship, family, power to protect vs violence, and jokes that older audiences can laugh at. It may not have the deep dark seriousness of naruto (until the Yami arc) but the archetype of "to fight to end all fighting" is very much present in Kenichi

to me Kenichi is funnier and the fight scenes are more exciting because they feel more real: regular humans training in martial arts on modern day earth fighting for their ideals with no ninja "magic". (im not talking about ki, chi, or chakra). Naruto is way too dragged out with pointless fillers that i cant laugh extended fight scenes and a super villain that wont die. (yes i know the manga is still going on)

@ziferzero7 yup, I'm super bored with the naruto anime. It simply turned dead serious and emo when Sasuke abandoned the group and I've hardly been able to watch it since. Also, I feel that Naruto is becoming such a boring character because his powers pretty much revolve around the nine tail's power.

@ryuan1 the real ninja is dead. Buried by the shitty American-Ninja movies of the 80's, Ninja Assassin (that wouldve been good without the FBI story) and lastly, NARUTO!!! the only true ninja story is Tenchu: BIRTH of the Stealth Assassins, but that game was almost a decade ago.

@ShadowCrowX The Naruto series was a lot more emotional than kenchi is, Naruto was liked by no one, Kenichi was just a normal kid. I do think Kenichi the series is better than Naruto, but I never really saw Kenichi as an underdog, he was usually on par with his opponent.

@severath19 Thats what Kenichi is all about, its about being a bit more realistic than most of the popular manga out today while still being entertaining. Kenichi has to rely on his training, why? well its because he doesnt have a demon fox in his stomach that gives him random power ups. Every technique that Kenichi uses is a result of some training that we got to see on the show. Naruto on the other hand pulls new jutsu out of his ass... I'm a fan of both, naruto is just too unreal though.

@Zofnok Kenichi realistic? HA! my freakin ass! There are a list of reasons why kenichi is just way too unrealistic. I dont really care about that though. I'm looking for a story. Naruto might have the nine tails, but he still has to train to develop new moves, and no he doesnt pull it out of his ass. But besides that cliche point, Naruto not only has to train, but he has to bring true peace to the world, and stop the cycle of revenge and hate.Training doesnt help you achieve those goals.

@severath19 Kenichi and Naruto both train, its because they have to, without training it wouldnt make sense for them to get stronger. Kenichi doesnt use his training to solve problems, he solves his problem with his fist and with the help of his Masters and friends, namely the shinpaku alliance. But as far as training goes, all anime characters have to train, even vash the humanoid typhoon trained his ass off to become strong.

@Zofnok Good Point. Training is a giant necessity to succeed (especially in anime). Though...what I probably meant to say was....that Naruto doesn't always solve his problems with his fist. (Examples: Pain, Nagato, The Kages, Kurai and Omoi). I like seeing anime's with problems that....fist fighting can't always put an end to. Doesn't mean i dont like Kenichi, I like Naruto a lil more because it gives me those traits im looking for. I could go on further...but then I wouldnt shut up :P
