What amazes me is the fact the firman leaves the doors open while shoveling in coal, does the engine have a brick arch? If it dont, he is letting the cool ait hit the crown sheet and letting the hot air out. Another thing that supprises me is the engineer yanking that throttle back so hard, he could have lost all of the steam pressure doing that. Oh by the, Im American, what does the word "Floging" mean?
These engines are good, in fact there great, they hold there heat really well, and to loose 175psi in a c17 instantly is a very difficult thing to do, and and flogging is an australian railway term that means your over working your engine, heanse flog the fuck out of it
Should still be running, but because of "questionable" handouts to them by the then Howard Government, along with in fighting they had to close down.
As an ex rail investigator from Victoria, I can see why they were stopped crossing onto the main line into Bethania station, (where they originally went to), had to terminate at Logan Village. I sat in the train once, observing the "crew", not once was a continuity check done on the air brakes throughout the train. No wonder QR was concerned.
get down a bit in the coal bunker. alsot looks like the crew is getting down to business. good job paul. great stuff as always. you think some time you get some cab ride footage in the AC16 221
easy with the cuttof there :))

why, do the guys that run it say they don't want it to be on youtube.
Engineer5344 4 years ago
I already have but strictly not allowed to.
Not sure it's a good idea to broadcast that footage.
