Ho ho! I'm such a n00b! I had all my drums pads set on midi channel one. You change it on the controller. Now it doesn't cancel one pad when I hit two at the same time.
I just bought it because of this excellent video. It´s the only one on the net which justifies the alesis control pad. Get one now! They are excellent. I was clever and got two sustain pedals, one for the kick and one for the hi-hat. The hi-hat "relaxation" is reversed which will take som time to get used to. Don't get Yamaha´s cheap pedal, because it gives massive latency on the kick. Get Alesis own or Korg's pedals. They are identical except for the brand name.
I returning mine. It was cancelling one pad if I hit two pads twice. Even if I get a new it might start cancelling one pad if you hit two pads twice. Many are getting faulty control pads, faults similar two mine, or that it triggers the pad next to it also. Alesis are having trouble with their quality control in China. Try Google "alesis control pad problems" and read for yourselves. Too bad for such a great idea. Gonna try Medeli DD505 for 300 Eúr used or even the Roland HD-1 for 500 Euro used.
I tried first the USB 1.1 (low-tech!) which works excellent, but using a midi-cord is rather faster and you almost can't hear the difference. I use a Native Instruments Kore 1 soundcard. Not the best but still gives me 6ms in cubase 3 SX. I was afraid that it would be to hard but you could adjust the sensitivity up to a pleasing level. Though it's not as sensitive as drums. The quality of the program is the key. Battery 3 suck. Addictive drums is fast, but BFD2.0 and Superior 2.0 is the best!
Not to bad. You can hear it, but using a midi-cable instead of the usb 1.1 it's alright. Used a usb 2 native instruments kore soundcard and it worked well with addictive drums on my three year old laptop. Be prepared to return several before you get one that works properly, so don't buy it from mexico.
yeah, this is a MIDI controller so it doesnt make any sounds. it feeds the MIDI signal to the computer where i can control every sound and all sorts of effects
Jesus, I so respect your monster!

Can you tell me if it's possible to put my own sounds on the pads?
I could need that for my band, but the Roland one is to expensive...
Maybe intro stuff for gigs or a bass drop.

Does the sustain pedal work okay as the kick trigger?
loneguitaristyannis 3 years ago
Yes. Yamaha's suck with way too much latency. Choose the Korg or the Alesis pedal.

which software?

Cool sounds, tight beats, the bounce response is very good on the pads, i like the accents you are getting.
I took mine apart!

How about latency? How much is there? It doesn't sound like any..? But that depends on the soundcard, right?
