  • I bet new car dealerships got a huge boost in business after all the used cars got ruined

  • That nasty salt water will essentially destroy the vehicles electrical system. Once that highly corrosive salt water get's inside the engine and the fuel injectors, the whole vehicle is a worthless pile of shit.

  • nobody ever thaught of putting up the roof in the convertibles??

  • It looks like a lot of those cars could have and hopefully were saved...

  • 500,000 cars in New Orleans alone. That's 2.5 million tires counting spares.

  • I saw a Mercedes-Benz 8th Generation E-Class interior, then I saw the E-Class exterior after. It's so sad to see such fine cars gone to nothing. It really is. It's funny though, how the safety features still kicked in on the cars that had them, such as the Volkswagen Beetle, the top lowered because the car sensed water above the bumper. Which the car thinks it could potentially be underwater in which case the top lowers to free the driver. Interesting but logical. It's sad about those Mercedes.

  • @itisian and the nissan 350Z

  • here in mississippi there was a 40 acre field full of cars, trucks, motorcycles, ect.......it was awful some of them were old cars that could have been restored

  • ill take those saabs. and that 350z. and that benz suv.

  • 1:08, poor, old mercedes :(

  • Great vid!!!!!!

    Even better music!!!

  • Ooooh... Moldsmobiles...

  • Hah,

    Moldsmobiles.

    Perfect Humor.

  • To be honest.

I dont know much about american laws.

But how would someone go upon aquiring a viechle kinda flooded away and if nobody claimed ownership anyways .... god im a noobie haha.

  • @atari26003 Salvage rights and get a 907A title. Can only be used as a parts car.

  • Oh really?

so if i found a car that meant alot i could still rebuild it using the body of it if the flood damage wasn't to bad? and use it legally in the USA?

  • @atari26003 Or you can clean it and play car in the driveway. Make motor sounds with your mouth and beep the horn

  • Hope the owners did get some money back from the insurance companies. It is a sad thing to watch.........

  • the first car loked like it had a paint job done on it

  • ya the white VW looked even more cool in person like it was ready for the car show of new trends..lol

  • EVERY vehicle in these pictures were cleaned up, detailed and sent to Mexico for quick sale. Oh, and some made it to your local used car lot, also.

    Enjoy !

  • who knows, back in the 90s my car was in 4 feet of water and the insurance company cleaned it up and replaced the interior and i kept it for another 4 yreas.

  • it's extremely sad to see that Black Mercedes-Benz ML out there like that.

I would get somebody to buy that car for scrap, refurbish it, and then I would drive it!

and that poor S-Class - i could tell by the interior - so, so sad.

  • i looked like it was brand new. I am sure someone had a reason for leaving it.

  • They may never run again but they still have alot to offer in parts. Older vehicles would be much easier fixes.

  • its illigal to sell the actual car or the cars parts if the car was in a flood for Texas, Mississippi and Louisiana that i know of. i wish u could buy parts there would be alot of things i need 4 my truck.

  • omg that was sad when i saw the two saabs

  • i love saab too. so i hated seeing those wonderful cars like that.

  • @griffplus did you say you got footage of the dealership? Link?

  • I took pics of the Saab dealership and a little bit of around town and Also in new orleans east Near the Little airport. I was shocked to see what kind of damage the cars had and the force of the water broke window glass. I wonder did the dealerships leave the convertible tops down on purpose or did they go down on their own....

  • My cousin had a Nissan 350z and during the storm his windows went down by them selves because the car had some kind mechanism that rolls the windows down when the water goes above the bumper

  • can you please post or send me the other pics of the saab dealership and around town???!!!

  • I remember seeing news helicopter shots of a Toyota dealership. Hours after the flood, the rear of many

cars were still floating because of the airtight trunk seal. Buyer beware.
