  • so on the single leg ones, how it starts back right, then middle, then front right, front left, middle, back left..

    would it be alright to do the exact opposite with your left foot instead of doing both feet the same ?

  • @Densone7 you're supposed to do it as fast as you can, it's for agility/speed.

  • @Densone7 5 times for each type of jump, as fast as you can, and do it everyday. it only takes about a minute. so you have all the time in the world everyday to do it. you should get results if keep doing it

  • @wildwestham you usually do 6 of each set. I suck at it in my school, and I get 53 sec. most can get around 40 sec.

  • If you're interested in this drill and ones like it, I urge you to check out an iPhone app called Zigyt. Zigyt is an app for agility training. It calls out moves to make for over 20 different agility drills. The app includes a random version of the dot drill seen here. It's even harder than the regular dot drill as you won't know what dot will be called next. You can find Zigyt in the iTunes store or by searching Zigyt on the web.

  • @JConan23 make the vertical space between them 3 feet then make the horizontal space between dots 2 feet (so its a rectangle). Put a dot right in the middle of em.

  • I did this in high school weight training class. There were 2 of us that could clear it in under a minute. He was a skateboarder, I'm just very leg active

  • @sexiw0lf Yeah I do them in weigh training too, I'm not that good but working on it lol, we work on speed wednesdays. on mondays, tuesday, and thursday we work out, and on friday game day, pretty good class.

  • Great drill. It feels like you ran a mile in about 1 minute. It helped me go from the last guy on the bench to an all conference player in high school basketball. Do it every day. You'll get great results.

  • @yogotah about 5 weeks. I did this 3x a week and also did a lot of drilss from the book Jumping into Plyometrics.

  • ya man im in football i was a line backer. i did this everyday (a full drill) and i got so good i could do it in about 37seconds. It made me really quick I could go from the 2 hole to the 7 or 8 (depending on play) in 2 seconds or so. it helps alot! you just gotta work at it.

  • @Shadower6 oooo well im in track also and that happend to my knee after i got my shit rocked trying to do shuttle hurtle and falling on my ass. The way i dealt with mine was i just excercised it normaly by doing some daily walks and then icing it and warming it up under some hot water and fluctuated between hot and cold for a little bit everyday. my knee felt better after about 4 days or so. is ur knee hurting because you fell or something or did it just all of the sudden start hurting one day.

  • I've been doing and teaching this drill since the late 80s -- when I was younger and quicker I could do it in about 50 seconds. Great drill for increasing quickness!

  • you do each cycle 5 times according to this guy(we did 6 at my high school). and sometimes you do them as fast as possible, sometimes you do them for accuracy, not missing the dots, and sometimes an intermediate between the two.

  • This is the dots complex from bigger faster stronger.  Need to wear high-tops at first until your ankles get used to it.
