There is always another side to a story. This drug was used to treat hemophillia which is a clotting disorder caused by decreased factor VIII. Bayer got blood donors and essentially concentrated factor VIII into a drug some of which was contaminated with HIV.HIV has only been recorded to live outside of the body for up to 15 days MAXIMUM. The better question is, how could they get that much of the HIV virus into an entire batch of product? For the batch to be infected in that way, it would have to be contaminated at the mixing source. There is always another side to a story. This drug was used to treat hemophillia which is a clotting disorder caused by decreased factor VIII. Bayer got blood donors and essentially concentrated factor VIII into a drug some of which was contaminated with HIV.HIV has only been recorded to live outside of the body for up to 15 days MAXIMUM. Therefore not causing harm to individuals. Ethical? probably not. But it's the other side of the story. I Highly doubt people contracted HIV from bayer

It was (I believe) some synthetic blood-plasma product that was given to hemophiliacs who lost large amounts of blood, but it contained a small amount of real blood (red cross donor blood I THINK) and that's where the infection came from.

The better question is, how could they get that much of the HIV virus into an entire batch of product? For the batch to be infected in that way, it would have to be contaminated at the mixing source. The mixing source for something that large would have to be done more than once or in multiple industrial vats.

@slliks67 You don't know what cloning is, that's a fact. Because if you did know, you wouldn't have blurted that out. Cloning takes DNA from naturally created existing cells and it (the protein or DNA) is inserted into the egg cell of the same species of organsim the original cell came from, then the nucleus is removed so that the new DNA replaces the old. That DNA then replicates. You have been pwned and you look like a fool. Nothing is created, only manipulated. Oh I've heard of cloning.
