  • Great work Great work... your my go to guide on youtube for beer reviews... Keep up the great work

  • @AutomotiveReverie Thanks so much! I'm glad you like the reviews. I'm planning on doing a lot more great reviews so stay tuned!

  • I commend you for introducing a new element to my own beer reviews: creamy vs soapy head. I think it's an excellent way to get a better picture of the appearance of a beer and possibly even the potential mouthfeel of the beer.

  • You're welcome! I don't know if it's an official term but I try to explain things as best as I know.

  • I have tried a classic blond pilsner but never a dark one.

However it seems a strange combination..pilsner dark.. but if it works...looking forward to give it try myself!

  • Black Pilsner is a bit unusual but Stone likes to mix things up a bit. It's a good beer and well worth trying if you can get some.

  • I need to look for this one, but I heard it was not shipped to PA :(

    Great Review!!

  • Hopefully you can get some of their collaboration beers, they are very good. It sucks that some states/distributors don't carry all the beers that are available to them. We need to "nationalize" the liquor laws and make it consistent and open across all the states, not like that will ever happen though.

  • Woah!! Them are some short shorts! Lol. Nut huggers

I've never seen a black pilsner before. I didn't know it was even possibly to make a plisner black.

I've seen dual brewery collaborations but a trio?! That's really cool. I would defjnitley like to

try that beer just for it's unique qualities

  • The short-shorts are supposed to get more female subscribers :-)

The Juxstaposition was a very good beer. Get it if you can. They are coming out with another collaboration tomorrow (9-21-09) with Kona Brewing. I'm hoping to get it and review it w/in the next week or so.

  • good to see the green egg fired up!! brisquet looks great, can't go wrong with any stone brew, great review, have you tried alesmith ipa?

  • The brisket was absolutely delicious! The Big Green Egg comes through yet again.

I haven't had a Stone beer yet that wasn't good. I've got another one in the fridge that I'm planning on reviewing here this weekend to so look for that next week. I don't think I can get Alesmith here in Georgia but I'll check.

  • I love it when a beer is so unique it's hard to figure out the flavors. This looks like a 'must try'. I'm going today to look for one. Thanks.

  • This was definitely a slightly mysterious beer for sure. I really enjoyed it. Hopefully you can find some and give it a try.

  • I have a bottle of that cooling in my fridge as I type this. Glad to see that you find a good brew, and that I have a good buy.

  • I'm interested to hear what you thought of the beer. Did you get anything that I didn't? Let me know.

  • Hey Mark,

Wow its not often I see you stumped for words on describing a beer. Im impressed with the head on that for a 10% ABV beer. Ill have to look for this one, it really sounds unique and interesting.

    Thanks for the great review,

    John

  • LOL! Yeah, I guess I'm usually not at a loss for words. After I reviewed the beer I looked on BeerAdvocate and read some of the reviews & found the "missing" flavor I was looking for but I won't reveal it just yet. I want to see if you or any of the other reviewers pick it up.

  • I love stone beers, havent had a single bad one. perfect glass, and that has to be the darkest pilsner ive ever seen. good review

  • This was a good beer, dark as night and very flavorful. I'm really liking my Pilsner glass, it shows off the beer very well.

  • The next collaboration has a release date of Sept. 21

I have a bottle of Juxtaposition in my fridge so I will review sometime soon. I might want to review it in a wider mouth glass because even though it's a pilsner, it's 10%ABV

  • I was going back and forth between using a Tulip or Pilsner glass but decided to go with the Pilsner. Even with that, I got a lot of aroma from the glass. This is a very good beer.
