i got this camera as a gift...and i found that the center button doesn't work....seems like it's stocked....i just cant use it...it's the one called FUNC SET and i don't know what to do...coz that's an very iimportant button...any ideas....i will appreciate it...ty

@delikedi17 cameras are meant to take pictures, not video, that's why there's VIDEO cameras idiot, I hate consumers like you because they force these companies to try and put video capabilities on their camera, thus upping the price for a stupid reason. Cameras are for pictures, video cameras are for video, period.

i cant understand their flagship model and no 720p hd mode ive read lots of reviews apart from barrel distortion left hand side it take the best pic for a compact. Torn between 980is, olympus tough 8000, canon 780is. just got rid o casio exilim s12 very poor pics and bad shutter lag

Great picture taker though from what i hear.. I`d go with the SX200 canon 12x zoom high def video.1280x720P

this guy completely misses the point of this camera ..

it has a bigger sensor (1/1.7") than other point and shoot cameras and it has manual controls .. if you don't care about those two things, you should get the sd880 instead

Besides full automatic mode, this camera also offers more manual control for those people who actually know what they're doing. If you don't (like me) the sd880 might be more interesting, since it has a wide-angle lens with 4x optical zoom and a 3 inch lcd screen (no optical viewfinder though), and it's cheaper, too.

the 990 has better image quality than the 880, i have read countless side by side compaisons of the two. I am not chasing megapixels cause i know it's not worth the price and has little use. 99% of the time, the 990 wins in picture quality and less noise, even though it has a way high megapixel count
