Great response. Intelligent guy. But sadly my man, too many of our blk brothas dont wanna grow up and dress like men, they want to dress like boys til their old and sillylooking.
well here in the Caribbean we have dress codes up to secondary (high) school and polytechnic (which is tertiary) and for college there are certain regulations... ignoring the whole homophobe thing... i dont honestly believe that you should be going into an exam in pajamas and going class in a dress if you're a male...wth..it's inappropriate max plus it's also inconsiderate to other students gay str8 or otherwise. you go to an institution to focus on school work and learn. do that. anything after
The issue(s) with students & attire has been a problem at Morehouse for years, and it's unfortunate that President Franklin inherited this mess. You're absolutely right, if the students don't like the rules at Morehouse, transfer elsewhere or don't apply at all. Great video...5 Stars Brother!
I agree with you bruh! And you also make a good point...at college there should not even be a need to have a dress code. Unfortunately, in this day and age more and more kids are growing up withotu knowing the rights and wrongs of apprpriarte dress or otherwise. There used to be a time on the Morehouse campus where all the men were walking around in shirts and ties becasue they took their education that seriously....not becasue someone told them to.
what is normal? I am totally confused on this issue. If a dude can wear a dress and get straight A's let him wear the dress, how is that hurting me? Unless I am checking the dude out it does not matter.
I totally agree with Mattluvzunot. This whole notion about men wearing feminine attire, or doo rags, or flip flops being distracting is silly, much sillier than men wearing dresses. This is college we're talking about here & there are much bigger distractions, i.e. peer pressure, partying, substance abuse, jobs. And who exactly is the supposed majority to coin what's "appropiate." Shortyrock u are right, Morehouse as a private institution will get what they want-stuck in the past.
I Hear that!! There shouldnt be a dress code set up for college, but it should be appropriate. Like you said, its detracting to see someone dressed in an extreme manner while in school. It takes everyone away from the lesson. its distracting. I wouldnt take the route of a dress code. I would just say to be more aware of your surroundings & dress accordingly =-)
exactly...like is was a direct oppisiton towrds homosexuality...but thats so besides the point.. we need to start teaching young men how to dress way earlier than college...
I totally agree with you on this. As Morehouse is preparing these ADULTS for the corporate world they should already know that certain things are unacceptable. Implementations like those at Morehouse should really begin in high school. I understand that maybe these people want to express themselves but there is a time and place for it. Work and school aren't on that list. I see where Xem is coming from but I believe he took it more personal than it was meant to be
this is the deal. The A is full of homos. Morehouse is one of the last thing left. homosexuals should not attend this school.

The men dressing up as women are doing this intentionally in order to stamp out any vestige of conservative tradition at Morehouse.
