the downside to the cops cracking down on 'em bungholes who were cheating the public with all those meter hacks is that now they have stopped turning the meters on. the taxi drivers simply tell u that the meter is not working and will ask for the amount they would have in the meter with the hacks which can be up to 3 times the amount they would have charged is the meters ran fair. maybe the cops should address that too now?
