I had this operation yesterday. First of all you do not feel any of these even because your eyes are numbed. It does not take so long. There is only one part you are asking yourself what the heck am I doing here? it is this very part everything goes blurry because they remove the flap. After this there is nothing to tell indeed. There was only a little pain in my eyes and watering of eyes, blur in your vision. It all lasts only a few hours. Then they all go.Now say goodbye to your glasses :)
i had mine done on the 6th of may. It doesn't hurt but the tugging is creepy. I was curious about the procedure that I went youtube to see it. So, when the dr was working on my eye, it disturbed me. right now it feels like I have dry contacts in my eye but I'm happy with the results.
I Have had this treatment over a year ago, still 20/20 and better. I can honestly say it was worth every pound and penny (£2550 for -1.9 and -2.3). the most uncomfortable (not painful) part was 0:19 to 0:40 because they have to apply fair a amount of pressure to on your eye then plush the eye flat against some glass (you can tell cause of the blood shot at :1:48) . It lasted 40 to 50 seconds per eye for me. Everything else the surgeon does, was painless including the needle part. JUST DO IT! :D
oh god, when they stick the needle to get the peel the cornea flap AHHH. Every time i see this i think of dead space 2 eye scene. Just like this except there is a needle and a laser guiding the needle. It has to go straight at the center of the cornea. If you fail.... a stabbing needle right through the eye. You brave soul.
I so want this done, I hope I'm a candidate.. it looks way fun! no people, it doesn't hurt..they numb up your eyeballs and give you some nice drugs before hand..LOL
I just had my IntraLase LASIK done in both eyes yesterday morning and I LOVE the results. There is still a little hazing from the procedure, as naturally your eye does go through some "trauma," but it is well worth every second under the lasers! I love the outcome and am SO happy to have done this! No more contacts or glasses hopefully ever! Also, people please realize that if you have a good doctor... you feel NOTHING. None of the stuff you see will you feel at all. Your eyes are 100% numb.
@aronnok I did. I had it done yesterday and at my 24 hour check up today they were shocked at my recovery. I have 20/10 vision in both eyes and couldn't be anymore happy.
@SARUJAN5 Yeah, I don't care what people say, the suction ring at the beginning hurt like hell for me. They had to give me 4x the normal anesthetic drops amount cuz my eye kept popping it back out.
@SARUJAN5 No just uncomfortable at the beginning, a nurse would put drops in your eyes to numb any pain and "feel", that's why the speculum I think it is (the thing holds your eye open) does not become a problem you don't feel the need to blink STRANGE!! its kinda scary just after intralase 1:38 and when they peel back the flap cause your eye sight goes VERY blurry and cloudy but during the zapping you can see a light slowly coming back into focus. the flap it replaced all ok again
@SARUJAN5 - nah, it doesn't hurt at all :D I had it done three days ago and I didn't feel a thing! And it's only now that I'm watching this that I'm actually realising what happened to my poor eye! lol :D
(BTW, vision is amazing now! Went from -8.25/-8.00 to 20/20 and improving!)
I had lasik at Dr. Avi Wallerstein's clinic and I'm copmpletely ruined as a result. Constant eye pain and poor vision are my results along with over 50 thousand in lost wages this past year spent on disability.
LASIK centers, their staff and doctors, aren't reporting all of you that are hurt into the mandatory "Adverse Event" reporting system called Medwatch. They aren't reporting you because they don't want you to sue them and they don't want the LASIK GRAVY TRAIN of money to end and be shut down. They know it's not safe, but the money is too good to pass up. Websites warning you below to hear the truth are:
Your one seemed to take ages, mine only took about 3 mins per eye, no messin, now ive got better than 20:20. it was awesome, mucho stinging for about 4 hours afterwards then al better. it is amazing, if ur thinking abut getting it done, dont worry about it , just do it, it looks worse to watch than to get done
the procedure does hurt its like youre dying jokingly

Yeah there are risks associated with this surgery but you run about the same risk as getting into a car wreck on your way to work.
