  • How did the bike carbs perform in the end? have you changed to something else now or still running them?

  • @jonofd3 I gave up on them, Running a four barrel Weber carb now.

  • it sounds like my mower

  • would this fit in a metro?

  • @stephen88hox yeah they put this engine in minis, so i would of thougth so.

  • What did you do with the jetting on the carbs to alter it for the Rover?

  • i think you need to break that engine in ...pop its cherry :)

  • any cooling?

  • @Volga2402 didn't see any........

  • sweet carnt wait to see it finished m8

  • What the F--K made you think of using Blade' carbs...? I can't decide if it's genius or insane, what are the benefits if any..? Either way, clever engineering!

  • to qure it run it without water that always helps plus reving it till it goes pop jokin like to c more off the chavette

  • what alterations/modifications did you need to do to fit the fireblade carbs? looks pretty cool.

  • Custom inlet manifold

  • thats the way me and a friend broke engines in

  • To brake in an engine it must be loaded otherwise cylinders will glaze!

  • I was only seeing if it would start :)

It was broke in many years a go :)

  • I was replying to someone who said they used to brake in engines this way!

    LT77 u say?

Land rovers use same box, do rover sd1's use lt77?

If they do this means a land rover tdi would bolt into an sd1!

I owned a chevette saloon, lowered with a tuned 1256, a standard nova engine would have been more powerful!

A nova sr1.3 in a chevvette? be a good first car! then a v8 later!

Any clearance problems, like inner wings?

  • Yep the LT77 was in the SD1.

I've not altered the inner wings but have moved the bulkhead/firewall back 6"

  • @tpvalley can you break my engine in BIG BOY!!

  • @kevrs2

    oh good...I think?

  • @tpvalley talking of glaze, i can feel my eyes starting to glaze over:))

  • god vauxhall chevette brings back memories i wanted the hsr but never got one the first hot hatch to handle well i say was the hs and hsr

  • How hard is it to squeeze one of those into a chevette?

  • twin pellum in a ShoveIt !!

  • godbless ya a v8 in a chevette hope it goes well for ya! think you are very talented!

  • Cheers, i hope it goes ok too, still lots to do and the nights are drawing in.

  • What gearbox etc?

    rear axles brake with 75bhp!

  • Hi, the gearbox is an LT77and the rear axle is from a Isuzu Piazza Turbo, good for 300bhp.

  • looks good sounds a bit rough from here tho where is the rest of your exhaust?

  • It was running rough, only the first time i had started it so nothing is set up. see my other video for the rest of the exhaust.

  • Wow, thats ace. Had the same idea a few years ago but never did it as I was not sure it would work.

How did you build the manifolds for the carbs?

How do you make sure the mixture is correct?

  • Cheers, I had the manifold made by a company called Bogg Brothers in Yorkshire and they have jetted the carbs to match the engine it will need setting up on the rolling road when the car is finished. should have the engine running in the car in a couple of weeks so i'll post another vid soon.

  • Great setup, love it! Like downdraughts but superior and without the costs :P

Will definitely sound a bit better with some exhaust and a fettle :)
