What is really sad is that this is a marketing campaign. They have the same song for Wisconsin, Denver, Calgary, Canada etc... They just subbed out the name.. Made me kind of cry inside.
I found out a few years ago that WXIA and WUSA (Washington, DC) are sister stations within the Gannett company and have shared the same graphics and music recently.
11Alive sure imported lots of talent from the competition. John Pruitt and Johnny Beckman from WSB and there's Chuck Moore from TV5. Atlanta TV folks do get around! Great seeing Joe Washington again!! And with no gray hair!
11 would run in third place ratings. Alot of people in Atlanta hop from one place to another Richard Blecher and Pam Martin from WAGA to WSB....John Pruitt, Johnny Beckman from WSB to WXIA...As well as Wes Sarginson would work at WSB and WXIA. Brenda Wood, Guy Sharpe and Chuck Moore, Angela Robinson all WAGA to WXIA....Jill Becker went from WSB to WXIA and Karyn Greer from Channel 46 to WXIA....Yup your right they get around in hotlanta

At WAGA Morse Diggs been at TV5 for 25yrs and Paul Yates been there for 35yrs and at 11Alive Kevin Rowson and Jerry Carnes been there for at least 20 years

Are you serious? At one time, I was WSB and WAGA fan, and couldn't stand 11Alive. However, ever since WAGA became a FOX clone! 11Alive News is better than ever before, and their news outlet more polished in their news content, and their news pours out journalism. When WAGA was CBS they were the homemade CBS station that your grandparents would watch, but not anymore! I like WSB, but their news has alot of sensationslim. If WGCL would stick with a branding name and an anchor team, but oh well!
Now that you said that I take it back. I just got 11Alive back when I switched my cable company again two months ago and last I watched was 2001, and the station is a million times better than FOX5. I never watch FOX5 News anyway, I like to stick to WSB. I dont have WGCL though, I guess Ringgold is too far away to recieve it. Or my cable provider just doesnt want to add it, seeing as how weve got 3 Atlanta news stations anyway, plus WDEF which is the CBS affiliate in Chattanooga

Nobody does the "Hello News" jingles with all the syrupy goodness of Florence Warner! Just remember to brush your teeth after listening or they'll rot out!
KOMO-TV in Seattle also used (and still does, with a different logo now) the "For Kids' Sake" tagline that's seen on a banner here.
Did any of the ATL stations try to get Linda Alvarez?She was from Phoenix and LA
