It's nice to have landmarks (great when you're lost!), but one hates to see this sort of cold, impersonal architecture gaining credence in London. Yes, it's new and it's newsworthy, but the reality is that it's got nothing to do with the community around it. It rises like some great carbuncle towards the sky... the winds howl around its base... and at the end of the day there is no life in it, only lights left on to impress the tourists. It's a sad reflection on the Amercanization of the UK.
