  • "I mean... Jesus..." -end-

    stay classy dude :D

  • So what about it being loud, as long as it works thats all that matters....

  • easiest thing to do is buy the inter-cooler, take out the stock fan and let the intercooler itselfcool the system, did it to mine and it works great plus its not that much louder, to do this you must take out the entire stock fan or it sucks

  • My xbox is still working to this day.

  • This looks pretty cool and all but I'm not sure if i would do it or not I would probably screw it up lol.

CHECK OUT MY CHANNEL FOR FREE MICROSOFT & PSN CARDS!!!!

  • u know u can splice into the dvd power and get a good 12v source and still keep ur other fans on there for circulation to run really cool, all i did was buy a 10.00 fan from bestbuy and looked up the 12v source for the dvd drive wires

  • is this realy worth doing?

  • dude really dont do what every body else does and talk that fucking paper off it makes it hotter know you would think it would increase the amount of air but it really makes it hotter

  • i did the 12 volt molex power and the xbox starts, 4 lights come green then fan fastens up then 2 red lights come...

    HELPP

  • @iiCoDGoDx your fucked dude

  • @Kennethstupi nope :) looked it up ad the cpu hs isnt on properly... all i hav to do is put in case and its fine

  • "only one was broken so fuck the other one"

fucking funny, this guy sounds aussie

  • my xbox fan controller went bang one day and i fixed it with a cheep fan speed controller so it can be cool and be fairly quiet

  • how do you fuckin people do this shit? the wire will not stick to the 12v thing for SHIT! i fuckin HATE soddering!

  • what is that you have over your heatsinks? Is it to direct the heat towards the fan, instead of up? If so good idea! What material did you use?

  • Great vid dude, good 2 hear a genuine voice on these tip vids! Peace out.

  • LMAO!!! "so FUCK the other one"

  • I had the same problem with my Xbox 360, but mine wound up getting the RRoD. It was an Elite too so it was a big let down, but this is pretty good. Never knew how to safely use the Xbox 360's power to safely power a fan =P

  • ah thanks :) this will help considering that the fan controller chip seems to have broken completely on my xbox.

  • those black chips? do you mean RAM chips because that could be really bad if its the RAM chips

  • @MrMilkshakey I think he is talking about what I think is a voltage regulator, the thing with the three legs, the center one being cut

  • Good vid but some how i was able to make my fans spin a lot faster without doin what you did. proplem is i cant get them back to normal cos thee noise is just to much.

  • Hey man good info here but I don't unemderstab shit, my fouls cause my engelish isn't so good ^^. but what are the wires you have to trim?

  • v bcb

  • overcooling???

  • what web site

  • Come see my video Fan shroud modification the best mod you can do! This is my personal idea and works like a charm! for keeping equal air flow going throe the GPU and CPU.

  • Comment removed

  • can i just use a wire from an old set of speakers then? or do i have to have a certain kind of wire?

  • hey i did this and the wire that was hooked up to the 12v chip this touched the chip that is next to the 12v chip and gave me the 0031 error code does any one no how to fix this problem?

    PLEASE REPLY

  • you more then likely fried ur xbox but idk search the error

  • so does your momma bitch go waste your time on your dad instead of posting shitty comments

  • ur a faggit

  • tried it and it works great thx... defently a big difference in performance of the box. its staying nice and cool now. thought it was funny when u said "its just a piece of paper who f'ing cares" thx for the video take care

  • For people that are going to do this when soldering place the tip on the side of the chip and tin the solder iron a lil bit before . then touch the solder on the other side moving it from side to side without touching the solder iron .

  • epic accent

  • why would you do that when you can o out and buy a brand new fan thats twice as better then the one that comes with the xbox

  • its not an issue of the fan, its the amount of power that goes to the fan.

  • the reason why the one hooked up to the memory card is faster is because it gets the full 12v and the one hooked up to the mother board gets voltage according to the cpu temp.

  • hey i have a question my old xbox 360 it would be in the most open area and in a godd temp room but it will have the fans spin up load as hell then the console would freeze up then it would get the 1 and 3 red rings randomly and then it would turn on again and do the same thing AGAIN and AGAIN plz help me

  • unplug the surge protecter

  • how do u install fans in a xbox like where do u solder them and stuff

  • join scene-x forums

  • do we have to cover the heat sinks?

  • its suposed to make the fans suck the air over the heaksink better. its best to put a partition in the air tunnel too to make each fan dedicated to its own heatsink

  • crapbox 360

  • CANT see SH#@

  • "that went on for sometime" <-- made me LOL.

  • haha "only one was working so fuck the other one!"

  • thanx for helping me

  • i did it and it is to loud how can make it quiter

  • If you remove the fans and turn your xbox on you'll notice the fans don't make as much noise its because the small circle ventilation holes stop ALL of the air getting out causing a loud vacuum noise if you trim the metal chassis and the plastic vent covering the fans this will sound a bit lighter on the ears

  • SORRY i clicked post comment early by mistake . if you buy the one that takes power from the AC from the xbox then yhea its bad but if u buy the one thats plug in the wall AC then its good and that xbox is going to get rrod ur just buying ur self time

  • intercool is asome but if u buy the one that takes power from the AC

  • Do I connect both brown and red wire to the main wire or just the red???? Please help!!!!!!!!!!!

  • If you want both to spin yes

  • WOOT, Australian FTW

  • i have this mod, it does not get u banned. and i also have an intercooler =)

  • idiot

  • both my fans stopped

  • hey can someone help me my xbox fans r spinning backwards so its putting cool air out the back of the xbox can sombody help me so itl spin the right way

  • you are retarded

  • your kidding right? its supposed to blow out back.

  • thats what there suppost to do

    sucking the warm air out

  • it's supposed to put air out the back of the xbox. as for it being cool just means your system is not running hot enough to heat the air that it has already pulled thru the system which is a good thing. So the fan is a exhaust not a intake so it going the right way.

  • never cut the wires unless u know what youre doing!!

  • hi i have a falcon 360 that broke but i fixed it with the x clamp but i wanted to do the 12volt fan mod instead of buying a talismoon fan but i heard live can ban you if you do this volt mod does anyone know if this is actualy true ? :)thanks to anyone who can awanser this

  • Live cannot ban you for performing such a mod, because there is no way of them detecting it. Besides, technically I don't think its breaking any rules for performing such mod.

  • thanks that made me feal a lot better and confident lol i might just get a mini fan from pc world and put it onto the mini heatsink to draw the exces heat !! :) thanks

  • so ur saying dat they only ban for privacy reasons. I want to install a fan inside my xbox 306 jasper, but before i order it, i been trying to get the information to see if u get ban for just installing a fan.

  • Bullshit live can detect if you tamper with the system. I bought a used 360 from GS went to get on live and the system was banned.

  • thats different. You get banned from live if you have your 360 modded to play illegal burnt games or copies. Fan mods, case mods, and other mods doesnt affect game companies to get their games stolen and ripped off.

  • @RANDOMMRJAMES as faras i know only jtagged and boosting are banned

  • Ok u can be banned for hacking the firmware : i extreme firmare mods like that , but adding liquid cooling windows lights , and doing a 12 volt fan mod will not ban your 360 . ms claims they can but they cant they do this to scare people into not modding there 360 ! the warranty is shit any way so why not mod your 360 after all its your 360

  • You get baned if you run your xbox without the dvd drive. once you turn on the xbox with out the drive on it, the xbox itself WILL record that and report itsefl as a *modded XBOX 360* the next time you connect to LIVE. SO I ADVISE YOU NOT TO TURN ON YOUR XBOX WITHOUT THE DRIVE ATTACH TO IT DURING A MOD SETUP, IF YOU ARE GOING TO RUN A MOD TEST, KEEP THE DRIVE CONNECTED,

  • :) thanks !!!!

  • both the fans refuse to run now. even if the LEDs arent plugged in. can i run the red and brown wires to a new 12v source just like you did? or did i screw over the fan too? and if so, can i do the same with the LEDs. thanks. PART 2

  • Maybe you screwed your fan too, but I think if you just run them to a other 12V source it will work.

BTW. I broke one of my stock fans with the 12V mod :(

  • ok. so i took my whole xbox apart, cut out holes and put acryllic and all that fancy stuff. i pulled out the fans to figure out the voltage. when i saw that the fans said 12v i ASSUMED that they were being suppliued with a full 12 and not 5. so i went out and bought LED lights that were 12v. when i got all the soldering done i used a y-splitter to connect the LEDs and fan into the same plug. I screwed something up and i dont know what to do. PART 1

  • Can I solder two fans to one 12v power source?

  • yes

  • Thank you. I found this a very very very great alternative to spliving the DVD Drive.

  • take the two positives and twist them together and wire it to the many 12v power sources on the xbox and also you could have just bought the wire that comes with the fan plug adapter it splits the dvd drives power souce and gives you 12 volts

  • I don't like doing splicing. Not very good at it. How many 12v sources are there on the motherboard? Will it affect the Xbox 360 in anyway. Besides cooling the heat down lol

  • If you can, pics would be nice of showing where the 12v sources are.

  • Just use the DVD drive.

  • Why is it one of the fans is running at 12v and the other 5v. How can you make both of them run at 12v? And what tutorial did you follow on the internet to do this. I couldn't really see where you soldered the end to. Not to connect both of the wires.

  • Thankyou!!!

I soldered both red and brown wires with another longer wire to that spot then took the black and blue wires and grounded them to the metal frame.

Works great and is much faster (and much louder) but it works!

  • Im about to try this mod out, although I haven't received the rrod, I sure as heck dont want it either... Thanx bro

  • thanks for the tip, mod works well. i used hot glue on mine.. i mite use tape to secure it, just in case.

  • i have been looking everywhere for a tutorial on the 12v fan mod and this ONLY one i could find xp

    awesome vid anyways thanks

  • nice vid
