  • Incredible! Good job. Very talented!

  • HERESY

  • Thank god, I thought this was going to be some shitty distorted metal version. Great job!

  • Oh my gosh...i love it. Such a wonderful song and so beautifully done.

  • didnt expect you to be that good ^^

  • very good, but you have to use a different potato to record it

  • Awesome. Very cool that at it seems a young age you were into this. Good for you. Thanks for posting.

  • Can this be played on a four string bass?

  • @outmein16 yes it can be played. i assume that every cello piece can be played on 4 string basses. for this one there are lots of tabs for 4 string basses on the internet.

  • Very very nice had to share it!!!!!!

  • is that a gitar or a bace gitar?

  • @thewishtofly hahaha worst troll fail

  • Comment removed

  • really good dude

  • tab ¿?

  • nice sound!

  • que hermoso ^_^

  • OOOO someone got told XD

  • I'm likin' your respect for the classics.

  • teach me please :D

  • I have a test performance tomorrow for my music class on Bass. THANK YOU for making this video :)

  • I have so much respect for you.

  • that's sexy

  • ... qué le has hecho a la obra =_=!!!

  • @joooche a la obra no le ha hecho nada =P solo es su interpretación.

  • I'm currently learning this on the cello, and just wanted to here this version. I like it on bass because it still has some of the rich tones you get with the cello, but almost more of a modren feel to it. I'm still a little more of a cello fan though =P but great job on this!

  • Did you use the B string at all? i dont have five string

  • gorgeous.

  • Comment removed

  • @101rocketmail bass -_-

  • @101rocketmail Looks like a 5 string bass to me, just the way he uses his fingers and the sound of it.

  • @Cuteyoshigirl It looked like a guitar to me... wrong again... -_-

  • brilliant!!

  • So talented and beautiful music.

  • it is called a cello suit for a reason. still pretty good though

  • Keep on Rockin' it!

  • Fantastic!

  • i can see so much light and brightness coming from this bass... its sound is great, you play softly and i feel a kind of divine peace while listening to it. I´ve downloaded this, if you don´t mind. thanks.

  • well done man. I've always wanted to learn this on guitar!

  • @VenticeHall its a five strig bass that is a bit to low to be a guitar but correct me if im wrong

  • that's awesome! Love it!

  • Sounds great man! So close to cello sound. I guesss due bass octave spectre

  • dude.. im actually a bassist in a punk/hardcore band.. but i also played in symphonic orchestras.. and this is so freakin awesome man!!

  • impressive

  • i admit i was rather sceptical when clicking this video, but it's actually a very nice job.

  • awesome

  • wow, this is veryyy beautiful :)

  • Do you play other instrument ? I love this song, it's the reason why I started play cello :) You're too Nice ! :D

  • I'm breathless, this sounds so nice and peaceful. thanks for sharing!

  • beautiful <3

  • That is true skill m8, keep up the good work! I know that's not as easy as it looks. :)

  • Me gusto mas que todo el comienzo...

  • Buckethead should play this after STARWARS theme

  • This. Is. Amazing.

  • love it :)

  • As a person who cannot play an instrument to save her life but is ballerina that's beautiful and made me want to dance.

  • Good effort, well done...

    Please find another venue...

  • this is so nice.

  • i salute you for your effort. this is a hard piece, and to play it on an electric bass did not make it any easier. practice more though so you may be able to improve more :)

  • He didn't ruin anything, it's just that you have to play this kind of genius music with an equal genius from your instrument. He's talented, but still this is too much =)

  • He didn't ruin it by playing it on an electric bass. He ruined it by playing a bunch of wrong notes. -_-

  • Hey, by the way, is there any vid of Beethoven's ninth played on a tambourine?

  • east side west side yeaaah

  • @StrawberryJungle <(and anyone else)Thats right keep praising a massive fuck up!This dude goes waaaay out of key at like :36,and that's my only gripe. If I was snobbish I'd prolly comment on the fact that he's playing it on an electric bass and there's Horrible finger noise that shouldn't belong(which there is BTW),Even if the notes were perfect! All I'm saying is if you play classical it NEEDS to be perfect, otherwise don't insult it.

  • @F0rkb0y hah- get off your high horse. You are a snob regardless of your rhetoric. The vid is a decent rendition regardless of it's flaws. Is there some classical committee that has stated that it needs to be played perfectly? No. It's too idealistic for reality anyway. What about when people practice It's not going to be perfect by any standard. So he uploaded it to YouTube. He didn't force you to watch it or call it a perfect version or anything. You are just a jealous hater really.

  • hey do you have the tab?!

  • Wow.I can't believe people still watching and commenting this video..... feels like so many years ago to me.......(havent loged in youtube for the past 2 years).

  • @sinophysiker

The greatest Bass player of all time. Cliff Burton is classically trained. Keep up the good work.

make sure you listen to Master or Puppets album from metallica

  • @sinophysiker You have a very good video here , i like you bass version of that master piece. Good work buddy!

  • Beautiful.

  • i always wondered what this would sound like on the guitar. very pretty.

  • the only people that hate are the ones that dont play any musical instruments

  • Beatifull!!!

  • @ :36 this dude fucks up BIG TIME ,and it's NOT OK,It's classical music, which means,do it perfect,or get lost!

  • @F0rkb0y at least he even tried to make music at all, unlike you... all you do put a video together and then add a music track, he practiced hard to play this song just right on his bass so that people would enjoy his creativity. music is a form of creativity and creativity has no rules.

  • @F0rkb0y oh wait that's right you don't even make videos at all!

  • @F0rkb0y Your image of classical music is so completely misguided and idiotic. You're the kind of person that gives the rest of the classical audience a bad reputation for being snobbish and ignorant. Anyway, he's not giving a recital to the ABRSM! He's only posted a video to YouTube - so what if he makes a mistake?

  • simplemente genial.!!!!!...

  • i have the same bass!!!

  • AMAIZING :)

  • :')

  • Everyone saying this ruined the original r idiots its not about the instrument or anything its about the music itself. As u can see this is a wonderful piece and its sounds very nice on the electric bass. would u criticize it if it were on flute or viola or harp or piano? i thought so.

  • Nice work

  • Hey everyone. Instead of claiming "OMG HE RUINED IT WHAT A MORON" how about you appreciate the fact that he is obviously knowledgable about classical music and understand he respects it too? I think he did a great job, and its not an easy song and he played it quite well. Thanks man, great job!

  • Bach himself was encouraging people play his pieces on many instruments. Way to go, sinophysiker. Good job.

    Haters need to keep quiet.

  • It's about compositions, people, not instruments.

  • This is great! Talent personified. Very nice job!

  • love it awsome

  • Sounds good!

The echo makes it a bit fuzzy, but very nice indeed. =)

    Keep it up, man

  • that was frickin awesome dude. i was on cello in elementary school and wanted to switch to trumpet *which i really don't like now* and bass, guitar and piano it seems are genetic in my family so ya. i think i might learn this too. but on cello like i wanted to when i was like 9. aside that was beautiful.

  • sounds musical indeed but the cello sounds more appropiate for it.

  • @LeoLovesNature

isn't music just an expression in itself? the people drawn to that music and the expression felt by it if so inclined will definitely learn to play it in their own way on the instrument of their choosing to make a similar expression. so shouldn't it be just as good and just as appreciated.....NOT TO MENTION HE DOES A FUCKING AWESOME JOB ON BASS PLAYING IT!!!!!

  • @nezerac cello sounds more appropiate for it.

  • @LeoLovesNature

there's no appropriation in this sense. sorry your stuck on original content but the reality of the world is things get better with experimentation. And it's really all a matter of opinion. i think it's awesome to take piano songs and learn them with a friend (or two in some cases) on acoustic guitars and learn how to play songs that are suppposed to be impossible. i think its awesome to spread the wealth of a good melody.

  • @nezerac it sounds more appropiate in cello mr impossible boy.

  • @LeoLovesNature

meh. your entitled to your opinion. guess your one of those people suffering from xenophobia.

  • @nezerac all right mr musical virtuoso, psychologist know it all boy, but now tell me from what school of music have you graduated? can agustin barrios be played on the violin? and if beethoven either preferred stratocaster or les paul?

  • Comment removed

  • @LeoLovesNature firstly i would like to comment that their is no such thing as inappropriate music and secondly if you do feel playing Bach's cello suite on electric bass is inappropriate then i would ask you what modern music's equivalent to a cello is? i think its somewhere along the lines of electric bass and i will also ask you to tell Victor Wooten that his version is inappropriate because he likes to play it on electric bass aswell

  • @LeoLovesNature Notes are notes no matter what instrument, go outside the box and explorer.

  • @justyoustupid lol how ironic!!!!

  • @LeoLovesNature huh?

  • @justyoustupid Dont try too hard, your can have a headache :S

  • @LeoLovesNature I think you mean you can get a headache

  • @justyoustupid bingo! :D!

  • Fantastic, Man!

  • Comment removed

  • i really think u r playing some

    wrong notes at 0:34 aprox

  • Dude, quite simply: YOU ROCK.

    I guess that's about it.

  • i absolutely am in love with this... <3

  • I think its good to see people try to learn things like this on an electric bass. Lead bass like this is way cooler than just playing some simple 4/4 G-C-D-C boring pattern. Let the bass player shine!

  • @matthewbbb1978 I agree yet everything has it's time and place. I love exploring the bass. I also like hearing the whole band take turns in the spotlight.

  • tabs man???

  • Beautiful job! Seriously this is great!

  • god, you losers should just chill, music is music, whether its pop, rap, or classical

just learn to appreciated it -_-

  • No hay como el cello

  • very cool for a young person to know what the classics are Rock on!!

  • try playin it on the 1st position (the other end of the neck) on a 4 string p bass...(like me).then i'll be impressed.

  • @0tt0kruegar let's see it then. that's big talk.

  • @atranos alas...no camera..but i will record 'em tho..so far i got about 14 bach cello pieces nailed inc. presto in g minor..all on a p bass with flatwounds and played on the written octave (which is the other end of the neck) try playin down there its not that difficult.

  • @0tt0kruegar why so many cello pieces? I would think someone who twice references the fact that they have a p bass would play some real bass. I also don't find anything more or less difficult about playing on different parts of the neck.

  • @atranos i been playin since mid '80's,played all styles of music,100's of gigs, semi retired now..play occasional jazz with a couple of friends.nowadays i sometimes jam to band in a box proggram on the pc but the suites a more of a musical challenge.

  • @0tt0kruegar haha...time to buy a cello!

  • this was quite the rendition. beautiful playing. dont listen to the fucking haters. they wouldnt know talent if it stuck its finger up their ass

  • Nice. Thank you.

  • OMG

  • 5 strings!?

  • Nice...check out Pipixcan69 to see LAGQ playing Bach (rare video in You Tube)

  • neat idea. i love this sort of thing and this was super well-done.

  • there's nothing wrong with playing this on electric bass. some people are just too narrow-minded. haters gonna hate

  • wow, some of you people are the biggest piecest of elitist shit i have ever seen. This piece is so beautiful it would sound good as a midi recording, but you snobs bitch about details. he played it without messung up and i applaud him for trying. fuk u haters, this is why kids wont try difficult complex music,

  • @sandoval7 chill out mate ! maybe going a little far !

  • absolutely amazing! and i love this song!

  • I truly love you from the most inner core of my heart

  • you people calling this blasphemy or claiming he has "ruined" a classic piece are the same ignorant minded trash that breed the same snobbery that hinders progress in human civilization. You are the ones that need to get a life! This is music! Can't you see that? Your definition of music is as limited as your juvenile intelligence!

  • @PresidentJones lol shut the fuck you fuckin pussy boy. its like they seriously hurt your feelings. u must be one sensitive male. or a prissy bitch

  • @Hifcrea yep that's it. i got my "prissy bitch feelings" hurt. you got. nail on the head.

  • @PresidentJones Exactly! I play this piece on the cello, and it sounds pretty cool on bass. I play Stairway to Heaven, and One on cello, yet I don't get crap from idiots like these, telling me I cant cross instrumental barriers.

Good for you wanting to play classical on another instrument!

  • @PresidentJones actually sir, i would very much enjoy it if you didnt blame all of us juveniles. yes there are a lot of idiots out there, but there are also many of us who actually enjoy this kind of music. dont put us all in the same bucket

  • @PresidentJones Couldn't have said it better myself. No, I really couldn't have.

  • @PresidentJones thank you for that. I'm gald to see there are still people out there who can think for themselves

  • 如果滑弦的時候的噪音能夠處理掉,光聽主音是很不錯的享受。

  • @oman43 dude you can never ruin music you can only change it.

  • @mdenny19 see thats what i thought then i saw this ! cello: best instrument in the world and you have just made a mockery of it ! get a life

  • @oman43 - You are NOT a Musician, if you did then you wouldn't have such an upright snobbish and Stupid attitude to trying Classical Pieces on different Instruments. I think you're a Troll, but prove me wrong, put up your own Video of yourself performing this Piece and put your Money where your Mouth is.

  • @oman43 Dude music can never be ruined(unless its Bieber) and actually I think he did a fine job on this. So calm yo tits!

  • Nice to see someone playing bass like it is meant to be. Not like music now-a-days ''pick a chord, step down, repeat'' o/

  • well done boy, Great job!

  • thats awesome man.

  • uau very very good

  • Wow O.o that was awesome

  • you're amazing:)

    Awesome choice of song!!

  • SOOO much easier on the bass... i learned it on the cello and i ALWAYS mes up :/

  • dude, some notes must be done with pull-offs (it is clearly shown on any sheet, no matter who transposed it), you strummed almost everything. That makes it less "interesting".

  • @iagoliimatainen I'm learning the same song on the bass, different notes but all the notes are plucked bc it sounds messed up with pull-offs. each note has to be crisp.

  • suckssX(

  • it is very easy to tell apart the sound of a bass and a electric guitar.. this is clearly a bass.

  • The bass and guitar are very similar and if you do not realize this you need to pull your head out of your ass.

  • That Is a Bass, not a Guitar

  • @Taitanio

    It's also called Bass guitar.

  • Some people posting here seem to think this is a guitar, but it's not. It appears to be a bass with an extra string. There's been no "octave-dropping," it's being performed in the same key Bach composed it.

Except for the already-mentioned missed notes at :36, this is very well done.

  • It is understandable that it sounds like a lullaby. Bach's took common melodies and played them in different keys to make them more interesting.

  • i'm not sure why, but this sounds like a lullaby kinda.. <3

  • like it! u play very well =P

  • hey asshole i know that . i play the cello. i was trying to give you a complement

  • now go straight to the cello and i bet you dont even need to practice...all it is is it has a bow and instead laying horizontal its upright

  • @jrodthegreat1 You're an idiot. Cello and guitar are as different as night and day. The only thing they have in common is they both have strings, and not even the same number.

  • @jrodthegreat1 Remember how the cello doesn't have frets. Remember how it's harder to learn how to use a bow than a pick. Remember how any 15 year old stoner can learn how to play a guitar but a cello takes talent.

  • @goatseforever

Complete silliness on your part. "Any 15 year old stoner can learn how to play a guitar..." Well, it depends on how one defines "play the guitar." If your idea of "playing the guitar," consists of learning a few chord shapes and strumming, then you're correct. However, one can approach ANY instrument on such a rudimentary level. Yet before you render yourself any dumber, do a youtube search for Joscho Stephan and watch him play "Django's Tiger." Ok, simpleton?

  • @goatseforever You sir, are a douche... I don't think you have ever taken a proper music class. Every instrument is very hard to "master", and allthough initially some instruments may be easier to fiddle a bit that does not make them easier to use. Talent is not very common and is generally developed through very hard work... For some talent may come easier than others yet without enough work you will never play "more or less correctly".
