  • dede, when i make chile pastes i usually crack them open before soaking. it goes much faster. thanks for the recipe! i think caraway is what was missing , for me.

  • epicure.com sells authentic harissa. A simple tasty recipe is sauteing large shrimps in olive oil seasoned with harissa.  Yummy.

  • Very popular Arabian Hot Sauce , thanks . For extra red colour try adding Kashmiri Red Chilli to the mix , found at Pakistani / Indian grocery stores .

    Where does Harissa come from? I think it's from Tunisia.. (originated)

  • @amoura289 yes harissa is 100% North african. used in Bastilla's, Harira, and tajines. also BBQ.
