I was in this Video Productions class. I was the girl asking the last question at the end of the video. We were Honored to have Mr. Pryor come visit us. We also made (and gave) Mr. Pryor a short tape thanking him for coming to visit with us.
what. a. bloke. to give his time and wisdom to people trying hard to get something together back in his hometown while working on one of the hardest jobs in his life is just VERY COOL. whatever problems he might have had or caused and whomever he was as a person - this shows another side...
not the most informative of interviews but what the fuck. rest in peace, rich...
HardKore5250, this was taped in 1985...he was 65 when he died in 2005, so he was 45 at the time of this interview. I think he was just being humble, being back in his hometown.
i think the guy is being coy on purpose. its a school/college interview, he's not gonna kick off. As a recovering alcoholic/drug addict, he's not gonna be jumping around, is he?
Actually this was for an actual TV broadcast started by the gentleman interviewing Pryor. The TV show, "CAPtions" is STILL being produced and aired in Peoria, now in its 35th year.
You said he's calm , i said i dont think he wants be there, you can tell by the tone of his voice but hes obv going to be calm becus hes trying to be tactful, its not hes gonna be rude and just tell em to fk emselves, but if he was doped up he wud of lol
i remember richard pryors movie jo jo dancer at the time it was one of the most inspiring movies ive ever seen it made me want to leap into life headlong with and lIve it ot the fullest . ILOVE YOU RICHARD PRYOR youll be missed greatly
My only regret was that I was not working for this agency at the time this interview was taped. I didn't join CAPtions until August of 1986. It would have been great to meet him.
ok well i am truly grateful for being able to B the 1st 2 post a comment for this rare footage of such a GREAT INFLUENCE on my life, this man was..and IS a fanatastic pioneer on the whole "African American" comdedic genre...I love the fact that this particular video has been shared with us b/cI for 1 I have never seen him able to be real.. he had a chance to speak his mind and represent for his hometown...much respect to one of the best pioneers of African American comedy ....
