@kismutt1 u sound ignorant. U don't know what a midwife is? Why would you say its false? U sound a little preachy and uneducated about this birthing choice and very defensive about your own.
@nephilim249 - If you go this route, I suggest taking a class, if available (our hospital offered them - and I thought the idea was a little crazy at first), and plan to have a supportive mid-wife at delivery (who you should meet with well in advance). There is definitely no harm in trying hypnobirth - it can only help with your state of mind in delivery... and having a mid-wife is EXCELLENT no matter what - they are not rushed to get the baby out like doctors and nurses.
What a beautiful thing! Congratulations. I want to do a natural birth and am researching different methods. Birth is a natural process womens bodies are made to do, it's not some sort of emergency that women need to be saved from and I agree that with the right coaching and frame of mind it is possible to go without drugs.
why didnt the mother scream at all. also if the baby is born with no complications fine but if there were complications i would rather be in a hospital
I'm another Momma who had a similarly incredible natural childbirth, but at home. I immersed myself in the hypnobirthing process while I was pregnant and with complete honesty my birth was PAINLESS, BEAUTIFUL, MAGICAL and so EMPOWERING! Women are so amazing and so capable if we only have faith in ourselves! You did wonderful, I'm curious to know would you consider home birth if you have another baby?
BTW - having a baby by hypnobirth, in a hospital, with waterbirth and all this medical support, is safe, beautiful for all, and costs a small fraction of any other birth method I know of other than homebirth... which is probably why few healthcare providers in America promote this method... the hospital where this birth took place has no interest in doing more such beautiful deliveries... they just want to use drugs and knives and go for the Big "C" and the $20k.
@NormRoulet This is completely false and and biased. I had a WONDERFUL birth with an OBGYN and nurses. Would NEVER go this route with midwives who are NOT trained in medicine. At least go to the hospital and if you can do a natural birth, great, but if you can't, then at least you have an epideral not far away. You also have the safety net of REAL OBGYN's who know what they are doing.
@kismutt1 This is in a hospital with a licensed midwife, which is a trained healthcare provider, and the best neonatal care unit was down the hall in case - our hospital bill was probably 30% what it would been for more intervention and nothing more was necessary. Third time we've gone this route...
Assuming a normal pregnancy with a healthy mother and baby in good position - get a midwife or Douala instead of a doctor... don't let anyone CUT the mother unless there is good medical reason - don't let anyone drug anyone (including the baby) - if you have time, take hypnobirth classes... if no time or not available, find a program online... I'll post info on the one my wife used (for all three of our LARGE children).
Maddie was abducted May 3rd 2007 in Portugal. She is just seven years old. Please if you have any information call +44 845 838 4699 now. Go to my youtube channel for pictures and more info.
@mem0o0 - this was my wife's third hypnobirth and all three went great - no meds no medical interventions were necessary. This was her first waterbirth and it seemed to make things even easier... she was able to get in more comfortable positions throughout delivery. Yes, it really is that natural and easy. Of course, she is healthy and it was a completely healthy birth situation - each situation is different. Highly recommend exploring these birth options!
i might consider that way of giving birth all i need is to get pregnant first lol
(just married .. still think it's too early)
you have a beautiful wife and a beautiful baby girl and i think it's so sweet that you're so happy to be a father and proud of your wife's courage that you actually post it on youtube. good job mom and dad !
just one more question .. does this mean that she didn't take the Epidural shot ?
@mem0o0 - Congratulations. As for meds, not even an aspirin... and not a drop of blood through the whole delivery, until I cut the cord... it really is mind and body working as one. The midwives were amazed.
We did go to a class before her first delivery and she listened to a CD each night for a few months before each delivery and during the delivery... relaxation and affirmation stuff - let me know if you want to know the info on the CD or first hand info from my wife
