  • wow thanks this really helps!!! me and a couple of my friends like to celebrate the characters from our favorite show (naruto)'s birthday. our favorite charecter is Kiba, so we all spend the night at my house. This will be really cool because we've never had a good way to celebrate but now we can make an Akamaru pinata!!!! thanks so much!!!!

    Great Tut

  • Will bugs eat this?

  • @horseysoar I wouldn''t count on the project to last for years. But if you put some salt in the paper mache it will keep it fresh and preserved longer.

  • cool i think we will make a black angry bird for my sons birthday next month. had no newspaper so made the phone book useful lol. His birthday is nov 25 but liek you said it shouldnt mold hopefully:) ANy suggestions on what to paint it or how to make it smoother?

  • @Darkvirtue9 If you add white glue to the mix it will come out smoother. You can also sand it after it dries. If you paint the bird after it is dry that will prohibit mold growth.

  • we made shields too but haven painted them...we just made quick ones they cool though even unpainted

  • we did Paper Mache today i forgot to add salt how will that effect the ballon mache?

  • @Darkvirtue9 It will be quite ok without the salt. The salt just prohibits mold growth over the course of months or longer. So, if you are using the pinata within the next few months no problem.
