I have alot of trouble every year with squash bores they come from in the ground and enter through the roots and slowly kill your squash plants.I decided to plant my squash in an above ground box on my fence then do bores killing my squash. Thanks
I have a silly question. How the heck do I get the text off of the video?!? lol I would like to actually SEE what he is talking about and not the text! Thanks!
Just buy the seeds. Then plant 3 seeds 1 inch deep in large hills 3-4 feet apart. Do not buy them already grown in a 4 or 6pack. Always start curcurbits (Squash, Cucumber, Pumpkins, Watermelons, etc) from seed. They do not do good transplanted.
thx tinkygarden.. i actually planted and harvested some.. most plants don't grow big and yield only a couple of fruits per plant. i live in vegas & it's too hot right now, do u think that's d reason?
This is a good video, but you didn't really tell me HOW to plant squash; you just told me that there are a lot of tasty varieties. When is the best time to plant them? How deep do I plant them? Can I grow squash in a pot or planter? Also, what do I do about the squash beetle, once it has shown up? Is there a plant that I can plant near the squash that maybe deters them, or is a little dish soap and water spray in the larval stage enough to be rid of them? Thanks!
I am so excited about planting this season...Great idea with the soapy mist it works real good on roses a herbacide would be last result. When you can plant these depends on your zone. The seed packs will show you. It wouldnt hurt to use a pot but they tend to spread out far like melons. Good luck.

YW! Yes, probably. People say they love hot, hot weather, but I think they like 70's and 80's the best.Try planting in early spring.
