After hearing this 25 times, i can still hardly breathe when it's over. It's not about the sand castle. It's not about the canary. It's about the little girl. Mom has the cage, but in a few years the little girl will be the one flying away. She'll never survive there, thinks Mom. But I think she will. Risk, loss, a tear or two, and sweet sweet freedom.

Well done; thank you for bringing a good sound to this video. This song is exactly what I was searching for. Mr Shindell is so very entertaining to photograph with his many expressions.

He gave a story before this song when I saw him live. He had music but no lyrics. The pet canary landing on him broke the writer's block.
He is nasty good on guitar and one helluva songwriter.
