  • I want to know how anyone can dislike Regina Spektor?? Who are those 44 dislikes from??! She's amazing. :)

  • I'll never forget this day...

  • A great artist could simply duplicate the master, but a real great artist makes the master's art her very heart. Sung with true emotion, absolutely stunning work.

  • she sounds so great live, she sounds exactly like the recorded version I have. best quality of every artist

  • What a beautiful version of Real Love - The Beatles!!!!!!

  • BEST SONG EVER:):):)

  • This is probably my most favorite cover of a John Lennon song. He was simply an untouchable songwriter, but this girl is amazing. Her voice fits this song so perfectly. Love it so much.

  • Oh I didn't realise she didn't write it!! Haha. Well it's a brilliant cover :)

  • This is my favourite Regina Spektor song. <3

  • At first, I didn't think I'd ever be able to give any artist a chance to cover this song... John Lennon's "Real Love" is my favorite song... However, Regina pulled this off with flying colors! Between her presentation, the key she adopted the song, and her beautiful piano work, she really managed to capture Lennon's intention behind the music - Bravo!

  • great piano player aswel, good cover.

  • I love the way she talks, so sweet... and, of course, she plays and sing really beautiful

  • Más hermosa... :)

  • From this moment on i know, exactly where my life will go..

  • Agreed. She is drop dead adorable.

  • It's impossible not to love Regina! Beautiful cover of a beautiful song!

  • she's so adorable :)

  • Her voice is so unique and so great.

  • I love the trill she puts in her voice at the end of a word! What's that called? Other than beautiful? :D

  • @Evangeline30575 Its called vibrato

  • This is the song that made me "discover" Regina as I was searching and listening to various works by another one of my favorite artists, John Lennon. I vaguely had heard some of her songs before, but I never connected them with her personally. I instantly fell in love with her talent and personality. Man, I found a true treasure, and I had a lot of catching up to do. And so I did. I've already seen her in person a few times since then and hope there will be many, many other times to come.

  • My dentist told me today that I reminded her of Regina Spektor. Her hands were in my mouth and I tried to say "I LOVE HER!" It sounded more like "WAGUBSMER" but I think she understood.

  • Love how she respects John Lennon! BTW wonderful singing!

  • makes my eyes water - killer version of this song, way to go

  • @dinelawd tears dropping as we speak

  • is she related to phil spektor?

  • @teagaz23 ummm.... I dont think so...... not phil spektor!

  • Yo siento que la amo!

  • Beautiful! My own studio cover is above :)

  • Regina doesn't say much, but when she does you can't stop listening and she truly captivates you in every way. But she tends to say more when she sings then when she speaks.

  • Regina's cover reminds me of John's original demo, more clear words and more personal. It's a really cute cover.

  • soulful)

  • Regina i love you

  • I love her! she has such an amazing and beautiful voice.

  • I didn't think I could possibly fall anymore in love with her, and then I watched this. <3

  • Her music editor (if she even has one) probably has an easy job. Magnificant natural voice.

  • she is so adorable when she cant speak.

  • Very nice, boy that bought a tear to my eye... well done! xx

  • She's incredible. Just incredible.

  • doesn't matter how long i have waited, you're worth the waiting sweetheart. i love you and you helped me realize that in life...only love is real. **hugs!

  • Lmfao the guy who's like "Y'ALL??!?"

  • nope she shld sing it the way john does it

  • She's so freaking cute!

    Love love love <3 <3

  • *Man Tear*

  • I am really in love with her. Good lord. If I could meet her. I would marry her :)

  • @solariis888 Why the fuck did you send this to me? Fuck you, you rude low life. Just mouth off on the internet, you are super cool.

  • @megatonydeath sorry, meant to respond to lyoozero

  • @solariis888 Yeah, the guy who changed the world for better really sucked.

  • @lyoozero lol, changed the world... for the better? He was a Goddamned pacifist in love with his own popularity ranting nonsense. Tell me how he changed the world, Goddamned britt. Nothing is new under the sun mac". Eire go brah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @solariis888 Yes, he did change the world for better. He and the Beatles revolutionized the world music and messages. Me a brit? Yeah, sure, a brazilian with pretty much only japanese blood is a brit now.

I don't care what John Lennon said or did outside his music. You just can't deny that he did change the world for the better with his talent.

  • @lyoozero No, not you a britt, he was a britt, and keep living in your delusion.

  • @lyoozero beautifully stated!!!!!!!!

  • @lyoozero You said it perfectly.

  • its so adorable when she says yall :)

  • My wife and I danced to this cover as the first dance at our wedding. :)

  • she's so cute :) talented and pure hearted :)

  • I'm glad I fell in love with the cover before I knew what the original sounded like. Beats it, in my opinion.

  • @zhulia Could be. But don't forget the original was just a demo and Lennon never meant it to be published like that.

  • Let woman speak dammit!

  • *sigh* my future wife

  • She brings talent, like Lennon, to the pieces like very many others can bring

  • Lennon's a genius and Spektor is amazing so the combination is just mind bottling.

  • *Gets goosebumps* :)

  • @ShaylaLovesHockey

    Seconded.

  • You hate spam, as do I. However, I would like to mention that I have a bunch of covers/originals on my channel and would appreciate some feedback, whether positive or negative. That's it - no more spam! =)

  • One of the most beautiful cover i've ever heard. She's awesome

  • i am a HUGE lennon fan, and so i hate when people butcher his songs. Regina Spektor is one of the only people that i have heard that didnt.

  • Usually what makes a cover really stand out for me is giving it a different interpretation - changing beat or key or even genre (maybe doing something in a latin or jazz styling. But Regina does this pretty straightforward - and finds every nook and cranny of nuance, hope and pain that Lennon intended.

Great job RS - nothing short of beautiful!!!

  • i've never really heard her 'speak' before...but she's even more adorable to me now.

  • i love lennon's version, i love the beatles version, but this is phenominal considering i usually hate other people trying to do lennon/beatle covers... beautiful

  • the instant karma: campaign to save darfur was a great thing a lot of great artist got together and did. dont hate regina for choosing this cover (and continuing to play it), haters. she covers this beautifully.

  • its a nice cover but i love the original!!

  • I honestly love her version better than the original. I am a huge Beatles fan, but she did this song so much more passionately and her voice is amazing!

  • @harinezumi18 Well remember that john's version never came out to the market as his single, and he never bother on fix it... i think both versions have their good things, regina is more pasion it if you can say that, but john's it's more like well john, you know what i mean ? :P

  • god i luv regina... and a great cover.. soooooooo gooood...

  • i think she did it great justice her piano is better

  • she is so beatiful and i WUV to sing her songs expecial raindrops, two birds, the calculation, and samson i wuv preety all her songs and allsooo eet I WUV U REGINA SEPKTOR AND I WISH TO MEET U ONE DAY

  • she has a nice voice indeed, but I only like this song to be sung by John Lennon

  • she sings as beautiful as she looks !!!

awesome cover of an awesome song :)

  • i love how she talks!!

  • she's so adorable, and she has such a sweet little voice! i adore regina spektor!

  • great:)!

  • Beautiful!

  • awesome, I love her voice, and her piano is so powerful

  • Great performance, splendid!

  • matate

  • Her performance hits you straight in the heart.

There's no time to think abou it , before you know it, you already feel it.

Maybe that's why it's hard to describe it in words. I mean, is her timber? her technique, her cute expressions? Everything is just so beautiful.

I'll just hope someday she'll come to Brazil.

  • so sweet

  • This is great. Lennon would be proud of her.

  • @ajdicu umm isn't that what a cover is supposed to be??? And if you listen to some other covers Regina did not change that much she did basically make her own piano part which I think is amazing and this cover does great justice to the beautiful song lennon created

  • Hard to find a cover that competes with the original... Ms. Spektor's just onna those people though... she quite complemented Lennon I believe.

  • Gives me goosebumps. So hauntingly beautiful.

  • I just looked up M. Jethmalani. Beautiful woman, respectable job. But 'way better'? 'blows her completely out of the water'? WOW! I can't even comment on that. Maybe I looked up the wrong video. That has to be it. That's the only thing that makes sense.

  • Dude, I listened to her.

No offense, she is nowhere close to blowing Regina out of the water.

It's hard to find talent as great and amazing as Regina.

  • Miss Jethmalani's voice sounds quite flat next to Regina's no offense. She is good but Regina is absolutely magic with her vocal chords

  • she sounds like a little girl when she speaks

  • I did not know it was peculiar of the 'westerns', I thought it was universal :')

It's not something intentional, however, it does not mean anything, it's just a form of hesitation, I guess. Shy people 'umms' a lot, while looking for the right words.

I had never considered it as annoying 'cause I thought it was natural, but it's interesting to learn that it is not. Non westerns do not 'umm'?

    ( However, I believe you're overreacting... and it's pretty funny X'D )

  • other languages have different forms of this. Im studying japanese, and their form of umm is "etto..". and you probably use this more often if you are more introverted or just put careful thought into what you say. It is actually kind of necessary since most modern people have no patience for the art of conversation.

  • A very interesting observation, and I agree completely about the lack of patience for the art of conversation. Real conversation is becoming a lost art form....the usual jabber is nothing more than a contrived string of cliches.

  • in march this year i waited for my bride to come down and see me.............had fairytale of new york by the pouges as the bridal (without the lyrics)

  • omg, she's SO CUTE!!! i love her even more now!!

  • I think you all are high... Her voice will never compare to Lennon..

One thing I can say from this performance.. Her emotion flows so much out of this song, and her piano arrangement is "spek-tacular". Overall though, I really liked it.

Not a big fan of her, but that was good.

  • @KPmook31 You'll hate me for saying but I never thought Lennon was a great singer. He's a pretty good lyricist but not a great singer.

  • Interesting subject. To me good singing isn't just about smooth, & vibrato, & Pavarotti type quality. It's about being on key (unless you meant not to be), individual style, attitude & passion. You can pick on all the Beatles if you go textbook. Regina too. But they all have that thing that makes them great anyway. Just like Neil Young & Dylan. But holy cow! How can any Lennon lover deny this version. It's beautiful. I'd never say it's better. But Lennon probably would :) (sounds like him)

  • @AnthonyMinsky

You know interestingly enough I heard this song for the first time in Regina’s interpretation. It touched me deeply. Then I thought,- well now let's hear the Lennon original and I felt... almost nothing. There is no sense of urgency and desperation in Lennon’s version. In other words it doesn't sound like a revelation. Regina's version is more credible in my opinion

....Just listen, - even if you feel dead inside it’s still there, it’s still real, ….Love

  • amazing! love her so much :D

  • Seems that I all I really was doin'...was waiting for yooooOOOOOUUUUUUUUuuuu! hahaha

  • OMG!, going to c her tomorrow!!!!!!!!! cant wait!

  • I'm going to see her next month, it's one of my biggest dreams coming true! Sooo happy, it's gonna be awesome! <3

  • lol, I know, it really is an amazing experience!, lol, she was awsome!, check out some of my videos I uploaded of the show, they are tight!`, lol

  • you will not be disappointed:D just had the pleasure of being in her presence last night. indescribable..

  • ooh I'm so excited, I can't wait!! bet it's going to be the experience of a lifetime.. :D

  • Wow she is amazing. i absolutely love John Lennon, and i think he sang this song incredibley, but it's impossible to beat Regina Spektor.

  • yeah.. this cover is better than the way that he sang this song

  • she's so cute!

  • amazing the way she sings, I love her. I hadn't heard of her before this song. Now I have all her records. She's so great

  • nice to see that modern music has great talent even though you have to search

  • never heard of here till the other night on SNL. now i can't get enough. wooooooooow.

  • same thats how i found her too! how did i live so many years without hearing this...

  • beautiful

  • Regina Spektor is awesome.

  • chocopandadeamor you obviously have no eye for talent. take your flames and shove them up your ass!

  • Once again, makes my heart pitter-pat.

  • this is sublimely beautiful, but i think the live lollapalooza version (also 2007) is better -- it's more raw and immediate, less polished, and all the better for it.

  • her rendition of 'real love' is so heart-breakingly beautiful.

  • GUH! (that's a good thing)

  • She looks so nervous

  • if i was jewish i would so be marrying her

  • is she jewish?

love her rendition (sp?) of the song and the origional. such a soothing, pure, beautiful voice.

  • @miryamstein777 yeah, she's Jewish. :)

  • thank you =)

  • @Oddnessxtreme

    I thought she was German?

  • russian

  • hot russian ;)

  • @julieannlevine she's a russian jew <3

  • OMG I love that song!!!! and she sings wonderfull!!!! how can a get this track?

  • i love this song, especially by her. you all are missing the point. and she is helping to raise money for darfur. soo, stop hating on eachother and talking about other people and concentrate on the beauty of her voice, the piano, and the lyrics.

  • Because they are legends they remind us that enforced little change in this modern world, John Lennon definitely deserves credit and respect for what he gave back to people who were unfortunate... and only hope he is at God's side.

  • maybe you should listen to abbey road, then everything else :D

  • Abbey Road first? Really? I mean don't get me wrong, I love Abbey Road, but that wouldn't be my first choice.

  • Well, the four guys themselves believe that it was their last hurrah before separating, so Paul and Ringo would probably agree that it is the best, but I think that the white album was the best, because there is so much great songs to choose from, then magical mystery tour is full of my faveys :D

  • Yeah true enough. And I would pick The White Album too, its my favorite album by them,.

  • How can you have a great voice but have no talent? That's a stark oxymoron. Haha you foolish child.

  • She sounds like such a sweet girl

  • Interesting take. Kind of sounds like a more classical piece to me for some reason. I like her rendition. I prefer Lennon's acoustic version (from the Imagine soundtrack) but I really enjoy this too.

  • Aawhh I love her :) She's adorable.

  • I keep coming back for a hit of this song from time to time.

  • It's almost funny how most of these comments contradict the song being sung. I understand it's a cover, but does it really have to start a flaming war of the fanboys? Just appreciate the song.

  • She's so cute and shy.....

  • This is indeed special.

I love John Lennon's music, and this version tops his original demo.

  • She's so cute
