I think they were all pretty good, except for the Town Meeting Song and Jack's Obsession. Those were complete and total crap. Poor Jack wasn't all that great, either. And where were the words in Oogie's song?

Manson and Amy Lee were pretty great, and I'm not even a huge fan of their other work but...

Jack's Lament is one of my favorite songs..probably ever and...his voice was so...UGH.

The emotion of the songs are completely f*cking butchered for the most part, except for the exceptions named above.

this was a good idea of making the album and all but i think overall it didnt work with the majority of songs have terrible choices in artists (not insulting the artists im insulting whoever chose the artists)

I wouldn't keep this cd if i got i for free. The remakes were horrible. The only good one was Marilyn's,and I can already get it on the deluxe addition. Although it was better than the original i disagree that amy lee's version of sally's song is the best. Fiona Apple's version is better. I'm a huge nightmare fan and this cd made me alittle depressed.

I'm in total agreeance with ShadowGirl.. Marilyn's cover was on another CD but the rest of these are brand new. I was really expecting a lot better from most of the bands. They completely changed the conotations of a lot of the songs. Although I did like the Shamesin in "Nabbed". Rodrigo y Gabriella did amazing work on Oogie Boogie's song. I absolutely love their new age Flamenco style. But some of the other bands could have put more into this wok.

I don't care what you guys say, Disney could have done a MUCH better job on covers for these songs. (yes there are the few who did a great job, Marilyn (who i think did the best remix), Korn, Rise Against, Amy Lee (who i think did better than the original actually) and the Plain White T's. Though some could do better, though they where good)

a lot of the joyus songs became slow and sad and really just aren't that appealing to listen to. (and there was one that reminded me of salad fingers...)

Marilyn Manson = delightfully creepy All-American Rejects = bad Flyleaf = soft but captures the astonishment Polyphonic Spree = very nice touch! Vitamin String Quartet = awesome! Sparklehorse = not good for a Jack song Korn = fun and frisky! Rise Against = a bit too fast, but ok Yoshida Brothers = great rhapsody! Rodrigo y Gabriela = nice Spanish twist! Amy Lee = beautifully sad and hopeful Plain White T's = surprisingly amazing! Datarock = awesome instrumental Shiny toy Guns = pretty good

I don't think they really excel in acting exciting in their songs, it's always something a bit more laid back, slower; so not really the best song for them. they don't capture the joy jack had when he sang the song
