  • Happiest country in the world ? Bhutan , and they dont care about possessions or celebrities.

  • I'm not American, but I love this video! It is applicable not just to the US but all countries that have adopted a culture of excess.

  • ooooh baby. FIGHT THE POWER THAT BE!

  • u go gurl

  • :30 Big oil companies? Putting too much control in anyone's hands is not good for anyone. I agree with "theresident".

However, 1 point of hypocrisy is these same people who fear control by "big corporations" favor total control by kleptomaniacs in the STATE. This is much worse!

A government is a provider of services which you pay for whether you want to or not. It is the coercive sector of the economy. At least the customers of these big corporations don't FORCE you to be their customers.

  • All this can be summarized with two words... Austrian Economics. Less borrowing and spending a la Keynesian Economics, and replace it with more savings.

  • i think u should buy gold and silver

  • lady.. you look pretty, but youre an airhead.

  • For years, the affluent customers that I built beautiful cabinets for, well, at the end, they were off to the next big trip, or the next ostentatious foreign-made toy-- or handing their own kids the money the beat out of my price. I never could understand how they never seems satisfied unless they beat me out of money, or made my life more difficult. Now I know. Their life was fake, and their values were shallow. who would have known, unless you had money yourself. It's not the money.

  • You are an awesome individual. God bless and keep up the great work!

  • I like you Resident!

  • I Think you are completely right about the whole heartly about the recession being a good thing!! Actually it can be a great thing!!!!

  • But they thing is, as soon as the Recession is over, and people get their good money back, they will fire up their SUVs and buy more toilet paper to wipe their butts with like they used to.

Recession does not usually change bad consuming, it just slows it down for a while.

  • @AladdinAAL I don't know. It depends on how long th recession lasts. If it is anything like the Great Depression then that is a whole other story.

  • What about working class people? The recession has serious impacts for them financially, emotionally, and mentally.

Do you have nothing better to do than broadcast your middle class narrow-mindedness. You have successfully reduced the impacts of a recession to a handful of green initiatives such as carbon emissions and over-packaging. Wake up to the other side of the story. Only pampered, privileged, middle class, brainwashed ninnies believe what you're saying here.

  • Hey this recession is fucking terrible lady!!!!! Guess what unemployment hasn't ever been higher. Guess what I cant even get a job at mcdonalds. I have no life cause i have no money!!! I am dead serious I cant even get a fast food job this economy is so fucking bad!!!! Btw i think yur fucking hot as fuck. Im dead serious lady I would stick my tongue in your asshole. Yum i bet you taste so fucking good!

  • @Barnarded

You made one good point but you ruined it with your smut!

  • Marry me.

  • Well said young lady,..the real American Dream is more than gluttony and talentless fame.

  • Well said young lady,..the real American Dream is more than gluttony and talentless fame.

  • Well said young lady,..the real American Dream is more than gluttony and talentless fame.

  • I know this was made two years ago. The rich talented idiots getting paid for doing nothing are still on talk radio, news and running for office. The teabaggers are just what we needed to raise the cultural discussion. Yeah recession ~\~

  • Dont listen to some of the idiotic posts, your videos are awesome! Oh and not just because you're attractive.

  • i am not listening to anything you are saying just thinking about how many hours i could go with you in a night

  • youd be a good thing about my crotch level

  • those big lips must be awesome wrapped around a cock

  • @PooPusher007 - both sets, indeed.

  • Hey! Save water and paper products by using washable toilet cloths! Drive without head lights to save electrical power. Help the planet with global warming by tossing your McDonalds ice cubes from your soda drink into the ocean. Reverse power your personal wind mill to replace the wind that was taken by big wind farms. Consider eating worms because they are full of protein and they don't sequester carbon.

  • she can say god is stupid and still sound and make sence

  • I think she has the right perspective in viewpoint.... Why does there have to be a war every generation....? All of the war money could go to helping infrastructure, and the less fortunate.... But the Federal Reserve, (there's nothing Federal about the Federal Reserve, it's a private bank...), wants to perpetuate the debt of all citizens at the expense of tax payers for generations to come.......Who's really in control...?

  • Get jealous of rich people much? lol

  • Get jelous of rich people much? lol

  • Great vid do more. :)

  • Have you ever had to do without ANYTHING in your whole life?

  • I think I learned more in third grade than I learned from you. Soon your right to free speech will get you locked up, might want to join the dixie chicks band while you still can...

  • Very good points made. Everyone else who commented in a negative way, clearly don't have craniums that can assess things in the way you can!

  • THE GENTRY UNDERGROUND

    ON <MYSPACE

  • your bitter and your stupid. even i know the ressesions not good and im 13.

  • You are totally out of touch with reality. Recession? Paper? There won't be any anywhere to buy. There is no free speach, dare to tell the truth as a reporter and you'll be out of a job and the IRS will be after you for the next decade or two. We are presently ina total systemic collapse of world civilization. The ONLY way to stop it is to impeach Obama.

  • 15 dollers for paper towels where the hell do you shop???

  • We are the greenest Country in the world...As happened with previous presidents in the first world, ignorance took you were you are in the first place... At least there are smart americans who are concerned about something else than their own white asses...

  • She uses Paper towels? She is a EVIL ANTI ENVIROMENTALIST. She should use a Wet Rag instead.

  • She's pretty and speaks very well.

  • Some of us are not affected by high gas prices. Not because we are rich, but because we didn't live beyond our means for the last 10 years.

  • I love what you are doing. If american can't even locate their own country in a map, I hope when they don't have enought water to drink or not enough gas to heat the house don;t come to places like my country to take it, like they do with everything else. World's Resources in the hands of stupid people become bombs of time. Educated People like you Should be part of the NEW industrial revolution. From home. We can't just stay and do nothing.

  • @ecomaganat

We have cities with more people than Costa Rica.

You can go drink your Parasite infested water & Wait to get bit by Malaria infested Misquitoes

  • I think your smokin' hot babe!

  • How annoying are you!!! pretty girl shame u open ur mouth!!!!!!

  • I saw the most toxic locations on the planet in national geographic magazine, guess you had the most? No, not the u.s.a for we had zero!!!! China had the most and russia second!!!! shocking??? LOL

  • who's your lucky boyfriend? A woman like you means eternal happiness.

  • One other thing: that is why GM and the banks should NOT be bailed out. One of the other good things about a recession is that it weeds out the week businesses, allowing well-run companies to become stronger.

  • What you've just described (for example, driving less because of gas prices and the price of paper towels) is the free market. This is the way it's supposed to work.... unless of course the government gets involved and artificially raises/lowers prices, which just messes up everything along the consumption chain.

  • wow you areee beautiful..

  • kinda wished it had of hit harder to bad it didn't because from all of this in the recession I am making my millions from it and enjoying it, now the investment time means my retirement age I will be a billionaire

Out with the old and in with the new

  • True, i agree that this country gives people the right to free speech. Very essential to us. And your mom sucked my cock last night. Don't hate. Freedom of speech. Morons!!!

Only morons believe in the existence of a country that gives freedom of speech.

News presses choose whether to display peoples' online postings.

    Certain comments are deleted.

And they all happened in the country that alleged had given people the right to free speech. LOL.

  • A very attractive, smart, economist brunette which actually gets it... I'm in love !

  • That nice sweet voice of yours BABE definitely have my undivided attention--A lovely BRUNETTE from New York is my FAVORITE.

  • Comment removed

  • I agree with you in almost every subject. specially in this one. I came from México as a legal immigrant not because I didn't have a job, I did have a good one, but since my wife is too used to the US life, I thought that it would be hard for her to live there. I lived very though economical situations while I was growing in my country, but I know for sure that it made me really value things. We value water, toilet paper, food, etc because is not easy to have them like it is in US. We'll learn!

  • WHERE ARE YOU FROM BONITA?

  • carbon smarbon

  • i will do anythin u say in that sexy voice babe

  • curb our gluttony... liberal twat - STFU. every country in the world aspires to be as great as we are. you know those stupid curly shaped compact fluorescent light bubls? They all have MERCURY in them!@ That's right, one of the most toxic substances on the planet. dumb bimbo

  • Yes, down with the media pimping rich talentless idiots.

  • When the dollar is no longer worth the paper its written on, watch out

  • Well,

Not all of us live in Manhattan. And from the looks of your nice apartment, south of 110th street......

You liberal statists love poor people, you keep making more and more and more of them. It is people like you, wacko environmentalists, that seek to halt progress in the third world.

You people, in the words of Obama's Rove, Rahm Emmanuel, "You don't want to let a crisis go to waste." How disgusting. How cruel.

  • I woke up one morning years ago realizing that half the tallent had been excluded from the game. Take a guess as to how this relates to this video.

  • Oh god guys, let's not consume much because it might hurt this liberals feelings

  • whats your number?

  • one day............planet will be gone. But thoughts last.

  • i hate liberals like her

  • Resident, NOOO!!!

Generally I'm with you, but on this point I disagree. Nobody wants to give up a luxury! People will fight tooth and nail to keep them A green agenda will never survive if you continually ask people to give up luxuries. You also have to remember that some of those supposed luxuries are necessities. Some people can't just bike to work- they have to drive.

In the end, the only intelligent path is green TECH! When we come up with alternative, eco-friendly energy, everyone wins.

  • Your Intelligence shines much more beautifully than your physical appearance although that is also exceptionally beautiful too...don't mind some of the damn asses who understand nothing of how this system works thinking it is the rich that make things run! Believe your right!

  • Holy babeness Batman!

  • If you pay 17$ for wiping your ass a few times.. then you are welcome here in Holland. We just pay 1 euro for wiping our asses.. we get them in eightpacks.

  • I was with you until you had to bring in the green issues. I believe in curbing our garbage output but only because it takes up so much space and is ugly. I am as much of a believer in global warming as I was in the global freezing that we were supposed to be going through in 1975 when I was 10. Fear mongers and the almighty dollar. It's all about the money. Otherwise, there would be no such thing as Carbon offset credits that can be purchased. Can you spell SCAM!

  • Sorry sugar, but all of that has yet to happen :(

  • I feel satiated

  • brilliant and beutifull...

  • post a video with you boobs out

  • I will not call you a traitor. Or a commie. Or unpatriotic.

    Neo-luddite, however...

  • Great video, you look HOT......if youre unlucky you might end up in one of those awful magazines you mention, sales, I am sure would go through the roof. More forests would be cut down to print the extra copies and more fuel would be used to get the extra magazines to the stores..damnation, and all you wanted to do was help.

  • You Americans should learn to bicycle... We Dutch are not fat at all... very healthy

Your healthinsurance payments go down, saves you a lot of money on gas. You can smell the fresh air, the wind in your hair. You get rid of all the stress in your body... you don't need a psychiatrist anymore.

If you hate your boss.. just cycle harder.

  • We can't all bike for safety issues. On the country roads where I live I would be run down. There are no road shoulders or sidewalks just very fast moving trucks and cars. Very few people take the chance in walking. Folks drive horribly in East Tennessee.

There are more crosses along the side of the road as memorials to the dead then there are cars on the road. At least it seems that way.

  • Well.. here we all have cicle paths everywhere.. next to the highway, roads you name it. We also have taxprograms that when you buy a bike you can pay that from your incometax... ones in the 5 years.

cycling keeps people healthy.. and there's no polution.

  • Yeah, the recession's cool. Just mindlessly buying junk all the time gets boring really fast. Taking a breather from the consumerist merry-go-round just might get people thinking about what they should be doing with their lives.

  • What a whore.

  • Greatest video on youtube. lol

This girl certainly is the smartest American I have ever seen.

If America understood this earlier maybe they would not have a 11 trillion dollar loan to pay off and maybe China would not have owned America's ass like they do now.

Let the rich feel the pain I say give it to them!!!

Lets see who is going to care about crying over Britney Spears and worthless celebrities that Americans are so obsessed now.

Because they bigger issues now and thats China owning USA

  • Genius, if the rich lose their money then we are all out of a job. Stupid people.

No rich people = no companies= no jobs

I agree however that the big have to get smaller and bring the jobs back home. Just because a business can get big doesn't mean it should at the peoples expense. Better to grow big slower and keep us working.

  • No.. if people run out of good ideas than people losing there jobs. We have some branch codes here in Holland. That means when you want to start something.. and have a profitable idea (something that the bank can say ok we're getting our money back) you can lend money... but you have to pick the right branche.

For instance if you want to open a bookstore and there already are 20 in the neighbourhood, probably a bank would say there's to much competition. But if you go for alternative energy.

  • Than you can lend millions here.

  • Hear Hear.

  • Silly lady, to choose to criticize a countries paper usuage shows me that you're not quite caught up on the poverty level of this country and its living standards. The gluttonest appetites you are speaking about don't exist in America because most Americans are existing on 40,000 or less. There is commercial waste and government waste of paper products if thats your concern, but most Americans wipe sparingly and use dish rags to wipe up spills. Do some research about the US living standards

  • Dear Spurgeon, I think that the most Americans use ShamWow : "They are made in Germany from a revolutionary fabric that can absorb over 20X its weight in liquid. Use them to clean up spills fast and they wont scratch any surface. You can even use them as a towel or on your pets." ...eh I forgot the blanket the snuggie we can not place the order for the fast delivery, they are out because they can not make them as fast ...you can not tell that I did not do my research LOL

  • Yup, my husband has worked at the same company for 7 years and only go one little raise the 2nd year. $40,000 + and holding. The company failed and just got bought up buy a bigger company. He is one of the fortunate few to go with the buyers. We have to sell our house and will lose a lot of money in the deal.

Stop ragging in this country. I am tired of all the political correctness that is ruining us and our values. If you don't like it here I hear Mexico has room.

  • Using less gas and "going green" is great for the US. Unfortunately the rest of the world; China, India, Russia etc. are polluting like the US used to do. Unless they "get the big picture" it's going to get a lot worse. eg global warming, pollution, basically killing the planet. Well, we always have prayer.

  • I mostly watch your videos because you are very hot but i do also listien to alot of your content...this video i like...dont buy magazines they wreck you !

  • I adree. Recession is also good for dating! During hard economic times, women suffer more then men. Every women becomes a demzel in distress who wants to be rescued. I've just met a much younger women who lost her job and can't pay her mortgage. What a blessing in disguise!!!!

  • Unleash your anger honey, by doing some sexy videos

  • You're absolutely right, we have gotten too greedy. Still see plenty of SUV's here out on the island though.

  • let's vote for tax cheating democrats !!

  • Don't Get Foreclosed On Modify Your Loan go to homesaver(DOT)tk

  • go sleep you look wasted!

  • Never heard of her dont care. I do know this is a responce to P Diddys rant about rising oil prices, you idiots

  • She's beautiful and intelligent, and she hates fat people and celebrity's. My dream women.

  • this girl is angry! at the end of the video she provokes the viewer: "call me a commie, I don't care" and then she parades her right to free speech (as if she was bringing light to issues we don't know, like the fact that americans are big and fat, or pollution), did anyone try to stop her actually? Not that she's Che Guevara, Ron Paul, or Malcolm X touching the nerve of the powerful wealthies! Come on people we need to get this girl doing some sexy videos, I'm not asking for explicit content

  • Right, Mate!

  • Let's look up the definition of travesty shall we?

  • I have a STRONG stance against communism due to the tragedies my dad faced in Soviet Russia (I'm a Democrat though). But you say at the end of the video that people might call you a commie or unpatriotic. Frankly that make no sense. Reassessing our values is not communism at all. It's exactly what our country needs actually. So yes, I agree with pretty much everything you're saying in this video but there is no reason for anyone to call u a commie or unpatriotic (unless they were huge idiots.)

  • Good points, and good yams. Finally, something worth watching (and listening to).

  • There's no more Mexican style pizza. the cigar shop is discounting some stuff. Less choices, cheap cigars, I am happy.

Who needed 59 types of salad dressing, no matter how much money you have.

  • I call you my next wife =]

oh just an fyi there are no rights here in America just privileges.

  • id like to bang ur next wife;)

  • I can call you genious. Feel the same way in Brazil. Very nice video, thanks for posting it.

  • I think its a great Idea you have came up with the idea of speaking you opinion on you tube. Here is a suggestion: I would really like to hear you talking about the domestic violence that occurs right here in the U.S... For what I've been hearing the United States every 15 seconds a woman in battered one out of 5 abused victim will go back to the abuser or will be attracted to the same type. So PLZ I like to hear your opinion, and Thanks.

  • Will you marry me??? :)

  • You seem to be very passionate about freedom of speech, is it now you realize it does exist. That's not that smart as you think you are.

  • girllll, you're too smart

  • In a way, it kind of sucks that gas prices have come down so much over the last couple of months. Now we can go back to overspending and buying homes that are too big and unnecesarry that we can't afford and buying cars that are too large and make no rational sense but we feel the need to own anyway. I love and hate my country sometimes. I love it for what it stands for, and hate it for what it has become. Wake up America..stop being owned by corporations, and dont buy the new britny album.

  • ...and continue a finacial system that doesn't work, and endlessly try to expand government because the problems in society are a result of too much freedom. We need to tax people more and more, but pretty soon there won't be anything left to tax.

  • Wow, what a lot of comments you've had! I like listening to you. I agree, there's a tremendous amount of greed in America. The rest of the world are quick to point it out.

Five percent of the world, have 99% of the stuff. That's all of us!

  • Have respect for other people so they may respect you. Asshole

  • RESIDENT - 100% in agreeance with you. Other capitalist countries take a more humane and wholistic approach to the free markets and we should listen for once. To be in the minority is not to be wrong.

  • I really want to do you. I am a 25 year old virgin, will you please have sex with me.

  • I hope you will stand up for free speech when the Democrats try to pass the "Fairness Doctrine" to allow some Gov't Board to pass judgment on talk radio shows and demand more time for "the other side". The first amendment guarantees the right to express opinion without Gov't control. Period.

You are talented and smart enough to have a talk radio show. Would you want the Gov't passing judgment on your opinions or the public.

  • Every hill has two sides. If we are going to inflate the economy by celebrating vacuous egos - then a correction is just around the corner. The stock market is not the race track. Excessive greed leads to a need for socialism, and the greedy then start pointing fingers - calling people commumnists because they question the need for billions and billions? No, its time for some correction but how this is achived without destroying all that excess and worship of capital?

  • You've provided excellent points, however we're not officially in a recession yet :P. Let's wait and hear about next quarter!

  • Thanks for being REAL. Americans are mostly fat slobs, it's true. And thanks for the Rich Talented douche bit too!!!!

  • your pwetty :)

  • what are you ppl smoking?

A.)It's cool that some ppl can't feed their kids or keep a roof over thier heads BUT we'll eat less McDonalds, stop cleaning up household spills and quit buying tabloids??

    ...yeah, great logic.

B.)Celebs make too much money for nothing...which is essentially what your trying to be (granted, on a much smaller scale) ranting in front of your webcam "doin absolutely nothing"

C.) I work 14 miles from my house. A bike doesnt really work for my situation....asshole

  • Obama = USSA

    United Socialist States of America

Do you think Obama is going to change the flag??

  • America dosen't actually have a great deal of free speech.

When talking to Americans I know, I discovered that ALOT of American news is censored and a number of massive issues are practically unheard of in the united states.

  • uhmmm...nice mouth for a BJ. Eyes though are a bit crazy/lunatic.

  • You Rock!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wake up Guys, vote Republican again and even "Friend Countries" will be against you...

    ML (Canadian)

  • You already are when you butt into the US democratic process. Nobody tells you who to vote for - where do you get off telling somebody else?

If you would like to terminate the friendship, perhaps the US business and investment in Canada should return to the US. Canadian access to the lucrative US market will be subjected to punitive taxes and tariffs. Much of Canada's prosperity and security is directly related to its proximity to the US. That can change as well if you like.

  • Wrong. The problem is US butt into every country affairs on the planet. So we are all watching you now. And this is precisely because we want to keep your market lucrative that we recommend to put stupid politics out of Washington. Got it?

  • I don't recall Americans weighing in on the recent Canadian election, other than leftist pricks like Michael Moore. Anti-American bigots in Canada don't seem to mind him butting in.

The stupid politics is just beginning, if the polls are correct. If you're so concerned about 'lucrative markets'- feel free to start your own. If you're so concerned about world affairs, feel free to assume a leading role and show everybody else how it's supposed to be done - anytime.

    Got it?

  • Most of the people here think one finds the best and the worst in the US. So may I tell you that I find approx. half your people extremely friendly?

Don't forget that Canada is the next Saudi Arabia now (bituminous sands). So you should be on your knees and beg us... Unless you use force as usual...

I am joking Helmut, have a nice day. By the way, USA is no more a Democracy but an Oligarchy. Buy a good book on this topic and compare...

    Cheers

  • You presume to speak for 'most' people in Canada. As one with extensive travel experiences in the US, Canada and elsewhere, may I tell you that you seriously underestimate American friendliness?

There is as much untapped oil reserves under US soil and offshore than there is in Canada. The eco-idiots are the problem, not the supply.

As far as oligarchy is concerned, Canadian democracy is less democratic than American. I don't need to buy any books on the subject either, thanks.

  • You are right Helmut, the international scientific community and 85% of the people in Western countries are dumb. Sarah Palin and you will probably the only 2 wise persons on the planet soon...

    ;~)

  • I'm talking about the production and refinement of crude, not the global warming hoax.

Energy is needed in numerous forms for society to advance, progress and improve life. To continue to rely on nutty Islamic countries to provide it is foolish. Canada isn't relying on the Arabs, why should Americans?

  • Everybody rely on everybody, it is just a matter of fair redistribution and justice... INCLUDING environmental equity. The focus now should be on the reduction of overconsumption and WE North Americans should take our part of responsibility... Environmental technology is a great opportunity, not only to consume as much as we did, but to really help rising countries like India, China, etc. etc.

  • Speak ye of socialism? Socialism is just a big step on a path to something else. I'll pass, thanks.

"How do you tell a Communist? Well, it's someone who reads Marx and Lenin. And how do you tell an anti-Communist? It's someone who understands Marx and Lenin."

    Ronald Reagan, 1987.

  • Environmentalism is just another idea rooted in redistribution, or socialism. Of course, we should have laws to better control pollution, no argument there. Hold everyone world-wide to the same standard we have and it would be a step in the right direction.

Wealthier countries paying poorer countries does nothing for pollution, it is simply redistribution.

  • Your State is capitalist when it is time to increase the profits of the Wealthy, and socialist when comes the time to pay for their abuses. Like any phenomenon is the Universe, you must try to find an equilibrium between extremes. The best is to try to govern at the center, sometimes you turn the steering toward the right, sometimes toward the right. Ronald Reagan? Come on, you don't believe everything that comes out of Hollywood, are you?

  • Oups, lapsus, it is true that you have turned the steering toward the right 2 times in a row, though...

    ;~)

  • I don't believe in corporate welfare, sorry.

I also don't believe in the affirmative action housing policies which have led to the housing bubble, its burst and the resulting financial crunch. The Barney Franks and Franklin Raines' of the world should all go to jail. The problem started when socialistic housing policies were forced into the system. The vote-whores did that, nobody else.

  • As far as Reagan is concerned, when he was in Hollywood he was a liberal Democrat. He was a convert to conservatism.

Remember too that Hollywood then wasn't the liberal political hotbed it is today.

  • Oh, by the way, true conservatism is not extreme.

  • Your diagnostic is oversimplification, as usual with Right Libertarians. Don't read only the columnists from National Review, Hot Air or Power Line...

  • Your over-simplifications are through this thread. Some simplification is necessary due to the 500 character limitations.

My information is not from columnists. The laws themselves and the policies enacted are easily checked. From the Community Reinvestment act of '77 through other legislation in the 90's, the fingerprints of the vote-whores are all over the housing bubble. The collapse and subsequent nationalization of Fannie/Freddie started the avalanche.

  • You can take this back to the creation of the GSEs as a part of the New Deal during the depression. The New Deal was socialistic in nature, though there is no way FDR wanted them used as they have been recent years.

  • Helmut, all G20 countries agree for new rules regarding neo-conservative economics, except maybe USA if McCain is President. So let's see what smarter guys than us will decide regarding this matter? I'll get back to you in a few weeks, after your elections and some sound reports on this crisis...

  • I have read an online article a few days ago by an economist precisely on the fact that involvent were not, fundamentally, the one to blame. I have tried to find this article but didn't succeed...

  • You'll never see an honest analysis of the cause of anything in mainstream media, never mind economics. When you start throwing words like neo-con around, I suspect you really want to believe what the media tells you. Pity.

You simply won't see unbiased media reports of the cause of the crisis - if that was actually out there, Obama would never get elected.

  • McCain's understanding of economics isn't good - he's not a good candidate either. His only asset is that he is simply the bad choice, as opposed to the horrible one.

Ask yourself why Reid, Pelosi and Bush pushed for the bailouts. Bush's motivation is easy to explain - now try to explain the motivation of the Democrats.

  • Bush warned of the poor financial structure of the GSEs in 2001. The Republicans tried to institute regulatory reforms for Fannie/Freddie in 2004. The Democrats resisted and stopped them, turning the whole issue into claims of racism.

    /watch?v=3p1Wc2NFa3w

  • Why did they resist? That is the question. Somebody should ask the vote-whores on that committee.

Maxine Waters, Meeks, Davis and Barney Frank aren't being asked any questions by the media or anyone else - Why? The Republicans aren't perfect, but why did the Democrats oppose regulation so violently?

  • Campaign contributions. Some money went to Republicans but that's just hedging their bets. Huge contributions have flowed to the Democrats over the years.

The incestuous relationship between the GSEs & their employees (Frank's boyfriend, for one) and the Democrats reeks of political corruption.

There's no place for any of that in the media while Obamamania is going on. Let's just get him elected first, then the facts of the case can be buried.

  • Naturally the criminal elements in the market took advantage of the situation. But without the socialist vote-whores assistance, it does not happen. Some people benefit more than others from socialism.

Who do you suppose gets better health care in Canada - you OR former PM and vote-whore Chretien?

  • Don't be afraid, what are your sources then?

  • How much time do you have? How much digging are you into? You can read until you're bug-eyed if you like.

Check out the Community Reinvestment Act and its changes, the Federal Housing Enterprises Financial Safety and Soundness Act of 1992, American Housing Rescue & Foreclosure Prevention Act of 2008.

Information on the GSEs and their structure, specifically Fannie and Freddie is easily obtainable on the net.

Campaign contributions numbers are available from a number of sources.

  • 'Trusted' media sources are a myth. They will only tell you what they think will translate into ratings, which translate into sales of ad time or papers. Right now, Obama-mania is king. Bashing McCain and especially Palin is popular too. Nothing changes with the media and never will. It's the lowest common denominator.

  • I agree with you on that, mainstream media (TV and most newspapers) is more brainwashing than information. This is why I read from a lot of sources. You now have critical infos on Internet and some books. All scholars, specialists or simply authors cannot be wrong.

  • Depends on the subject. No doubt a person has to find information from a variety of sources. I allow for bias on every source. What I like to do is gather info and work backwards through something. The net enables me to do this, the media rarely revisits or analyzes anything.

  • But if you dig through information (e.g. those Acts) with the same mind frame and interpratation, you will sure find any social of State policy to be of "socialist" and leftist in nature. Personally, I believe Economics should be subordinated to Sociology, not the contrary. Economic sociology is better positioned intellectually to find the best answers to societal problems.

  • That's possible I suppose. The problem is that many of them are socialistic in nature. Many of these ideas are packaged and sold to the public as something to 'help' the poor or the average guy. Essentially, it is pandering.

Intentions and results usually end up different, especially with gov't. A basic rule is that it is easier to give something away than to take it back. So the vote-whores pander and promise, yet will never take it back if the thing doesn't work or stops working.
