@JjKrypto Not for teams with little fan support. I went to a panthers-leafs game in Florida for $10. In Toronto, you'd be hard-pressed to find a ticket below $70
i can't fucking wait till the NHL leaves Phoenix, Atlanta, Nashville, and all these stupid Southern cities. the fan support in those places is appalling
@adsbuckeye3 no but there are bound to be more people who like hockey there than phoenix. and plus its right next to Canada, thus the arena would be filled.
@waterlizardz123 So, by your logic, people will drive from all over North Dakota and Canada, possibly hundreds of miles to go watch a shitty hocket team play in the NHL? Wow...that you from that wonderful laugh.
@NessMencesal Damn arrogance. You think no one cares about hockey south of the border? Why don't you come down to one of the Sun Belt games and see for yourself?
@zcm007attack San Jose is different. Them, Dallas (which has struggled this year with the team for sale and a bad US economy), and Nashville draw well. Especially the Sharks, who have been among the league leaders in attendance for as long as I can remember.
@NessMencesal The Sharks have only been around for 20 years, but the sellout streak has lasted for only about the last 5 or 6 years, as far as I can tell. But that's not the point I am trying to make.
You think no one cares about hockey out here simply because you cannot easily play it outdoors during the winter time in San Jose. That doesn't matter; hockey is a very popular sport out here, so popular that many locals go to the rinks to play it themselves.
@zcm007attack Sun belt hockey only works in California, Texas (they have THREE AHL teams there, for fuck sakes, and they all draw decently, though the Texas Stars were in the Calder Cup Finals last year, their inaugural year) and Nashville. Atlanta, Phoenix, and the Panthers couldn't care less, and Tampa Bay is on the fence.
@indierocker12291 not to be one of those annoying people who corrects everything but the coyotes have been under control of the NHL not what you said. makes a big difference though :P

Everyone says these southern teams have horrible fan bases. Have you ever considered the economy into this? Hockey games are expensive.

Phoenix is a joke of a hockey market. Take that team some where north, even North Dakota deserves a team more than Phoenix.
waterlizardz123 10 months ago
@waterlizardz123 I doubt North Dakota even has a city with 17,000 people in it...much less a metro area capable of filling a 17-18k seat arena.

Still for sale... NHL END THIS JOKE ALREADY AND FLIP EM TO TRUE NORTH. Then, the True North will have 7 again.
