  • In war I have discovered there are "No" winners, only losers on both sides. In war is it not the poorer people who feel the biggest pinch? How many innocent people were just collateral Damage? other peoples Mothers and daughters, fathers and Brothers, friends or other loved ones, They will never again feel the intense heat of the Sun nor the very bitter coldness in the dead of winter. How sad.

  • Is all this happening during WWII?

  • Where did Braun come from ? I know he was German , but what was his past?

  • Mao was an amazing military strategist and general. Too bad he never took an economics course. If he had, for sure Mao would be regarded a hero by all.

  • @ugoodHomeBoy

Mao didn't govern much over the Chinese economy. It was mostly Zhou Enlai. And he did pretty well, considering the grave difficulties it faced.

And he would never be regarded a hero by his political enemies: as he himself told, the more they' d be afraid of him, the worse they will portray him. And he was perfectly correct. While China gains might and influence, Mao is portrayed as the worst criminal and mass murderer in human history.

  • @ugoodHomeBoy It is surprising to see that, actually Mao is still being regarded as hero in mainland China nowadays

  • what channel was this on

  • It is hardly fair to call Chiang a "coward". He recognised, correctly, that the Communists were ultimately a bigger threat than the Japanese. As for pulling back his troops when the Japanese advanced on Nanking, he had no choice after the lost battle of Shanghai. Again, it was a correct military decision.

The biggest irony in all this is that the China of today is actually much closer to Chiang's vision than to Mao's. Historians like Jay Taylor or Rana Mitter make a very good case for that.

  • whether you agree or disagree with mao's political philosophy, you have to admit that he was a brilliant military commander. I mean, i think what he did in the great leap forward and the cultural revolution was criminal, and even the chinese state admits those were disasters whos responsibility laid with mao. But as a commander, he was decisive, and he not only united a divided china, but gave provided it a vision of leadership

  • To think that many, many 21st century Maoists and their comrades utilize the Internet to spread their doctrine, yet they fail to realize these technologies exist because of the efforts of University students and corporations, both which Mao detested and many purged to death. Communists and their doctrines are groundless and have zero credibility.

  • You know you have a good commander when your men start dying when you don't listen to his ideas. Mao was an excellent leader, whether you agree with his politics or not.

  • @ramberghini

I think Mao is one of the greatest military leaders in the 20th century since he has done many things which could not be done by anyone else.

  • @inferno0020 I agree. He schooled McArthur during Korean War. Had Kim listened to Mao about guarding Incheon, McArthur's US marines would've been ambushed.

  • I wanna read those books that Mao read.

  • @AnthraxMuffin I'd read the Art of War by Sun-Tzu.Great read :)
