  • The problem in the condenser. They burned.

  • Step # 1... Check and see if its plunged into the wall..

    Step # 2... Thats. it...

  • @richman3211 its obviously plugged into the wall you stupid twit, watch the video.

im assuming you have this issue fixed allready. the monitor is probably caput. you could try unplugging it and leaving it a week, then trying it again, but from one of your comments, it sounds like you replaced it allready. i just dont like asshat internet douchebags, talking a big game behind there monitors, hiding in mommies basement, when they dont have the skills or balls to back up there game.

  • @TehKazlehoff its the computer not that monitor :P

  • Came across this problem once on another monitor and replaced two transistors on the inverter board. I was very pleased when it worked. Very clear and bright. My joy lasted 15 minutes. Suddenly the brightness rose very high and the other two transistors failed. i gave it up as a bad job

  • ui have that problem twoo i cant play a gome any more

  • you have to check the inverter circuit, because it looks you having problem with the lamps, it could be a bad lamp but also the same inverter circuit. maybe you have to change it for a new one !!! have good luck !!!!

  • You disassemble the liquid crystal screen back board to have a look! Whether is electric capacity's question! Or is the power source supply has the question!

  • Comment removed

  • I have the same problem as you :-) I give you a hint, open up your LCD and change the t3. 15 Ah 250v and the work should

  • Double check your Monitor Connections. If its your connections are good - it could be your Graphics card is taking a hike on you. Get a new one. Its possible your Monitor could be going bad but I would invest in a good but inexpensive Graphics card just to test.

  • It seems the diod is dead. Need monitor replacement

  • pentagon why didnt you say something erlier befoure i threw my lap top out of the air plane window lol

  • HI, I recently had this problem with my monitor, few day's a go suddenly my home electric when out for an hour. • you have a bad capacitor(s) i had 1 given to me with the same problem. Rescued from the dumpster I took it apart & found a cap bulging so i replaced it with 1 that I took off of anther part from something soldered it in & viola good as fucking new!! IF I CAN DO THIS SO CAN U CUZ I AM A DUMBASS!!! well not really but not a rocket scientist either

  • inverter

  • dead screen. have to replace it.

  • You must replace some capacitors. You must check,if head of capacitor is baggy, open,or if they is deformed.capacitors are very cheap....

  • Buy new monitor

  • i will give you one if you want XD

  • buy for it another power cable

  • Hello,

I got a Vaio VGN-A617B when i want to play a game like crossfire it is the same like that but when i shut it down and back on it works. I can play the game before it very fine. Than the same happens like that and i have to shut it down and back on than i can go on playing...!!!!!

In Age of Empires III i had the same problem please help me !!!

  • my guess is a bad inverter board but it doesnt hurt to check the Caps inside also

  • mainboard of lcd is defektive .,.. change this parts.

  • Here is what you do, take a screwdriver, unscrew the frame and you will find a piece of circuit board where the power and other adjustment button is placed. there are also capacitors there, resistors. take out the capacitors and you will see the circuit board as a whole.... now all you need is an AK-47 with incendiary rounds... take it and send that piece-a-shit-of-a-monitor to hell!!! Oh, and don't forget to first unplug the power source xD

  • thats funny...i know bikercc dont think its helpful, but funny as crap. lol

  • lmao thats exactly what i should of done, instead of drop it off my tree house lol

  • @Pentagon1311 mas tambem pode ser o capacitor 1000uf 16v ou 680uf 25v

  • @Pentagon1311 CONGRATULATIONS. YOU SUCK!

  • all you have to do is DESTROY it

  • I have almost the same problem, but on me its the little "Power"- Lamp. Push the button, the monitor will be starting, but short before the Logo "Fujitsu Siemens Computer" appeared, the lamp is going off, then its again On and again off...Can anybody help me?

  • the first thing to do when you have this kind of problem is to disconnect it from the power source. if you unscrew the frame of the lcd you will find a piece of circuit board where the power and other adjustment button is placed. now the problem is with in that area. try to re solder the capacitors, resistors are if you can see a blouted piece try to replace it with the same value, or simply replace the whole circuit board with the same brand and model of it.. hope this helps you folks..

  • hi u no wot problem i got.. basically there r loads of different coloured lines running through my computer screen.

  • check the power supply inside the monitor

  • @X2YeZCAMCNC how do i do that lol

  • Open the cover and have a look

  • i have that problem too

i have looked in the caps but the caps in my lcd monitor has a flat top and i dont know how to find bad capacitors some1 know how to find bad caps without instruments?? help me pls

  • My old LCD monitor did this. Untill i sorted it out good style.

  • Hey bikercc, what's the final result? It has passed 2 years from launching the question.

Here's some answers but not a certain result ...!!

  • one o more backlights are defectives,

also you need to check the inverter,

look for a technician as i to do the work.

    you will need special tools.

  • The inverter will shut itself off if too much or not enough powere is being used. I happened to have another 19 inch monitor (phillips) that had a smashed screen so i pulled the backlights from it and swapped em into the dell. Now it works fine and doesn't shut off after one second. Take a flashlight and press it directly into the screen to see if there is still an image there when it goes black

  • I just fixed a dell 19 inch yesterday with this problem. First I'd tell you to open it up and do as lots have suggested and look for bad caps. I replaced all of em in mine just so none of them were the cheap chinese ones. That didn't fix the problem for me though it may for you. Mine actually had a bad backlight. I tested all four of them seperatly and they all did work but one was about to go and it was throwing the inverter off.

  • CAPS!!! Capacitors

  • Capacitors!!

check all of em and make sure there are none that are bulging ..they all should have a flat top.

  • My acer does the same thing. Pull the back cover off, then the metal sheild (exposing the boards) And on the acer there is a 1.25" cube in yellow plastic on the power side, On mine i just rub my fingers around and it powers up (might take a few tries)

  • for that "Monitor blackout" to stop you can turn off your monitor for 7 to 15mins and turn it on again. It will stop but it will occur or you can have your monitor or your RAM checked

  • Thats for a totally diferent problem and it would be computer based not monitor. The case fan would be at full til and wouldnt display windows like that.

  • the truth is the computer is telling you its time to buy a new one but in reality all computers are like that to make people buy new up to date computers...

  • it is a capacitor on the iverter 100% sure. get ur self a multimeter that tests "uF" to make sure and watch a video about capacitors,

  • high pitched noise... thats the sound that dead or dying power supplies make, i know from experience.

  • my dad's old LCD monitor decided to show a wite screen of death, after the power failure, I tried to fix the dang thing, but it broke. It's probably the power on the monitor. I recommend finding "How to fix an LCD Monitor" on this website. The menu on my 15.4" LCD screen goes away in 3 seconds...

  • take the thing apart and look for swollen melted or leakey capasitors thats usily the problem why the backlights don't stay on it worked for many i repaired for people...

  • The best solution would be to buy a CRT.

  • CRT is out dated now. Get a newer LCD.

  • CRT has a better picture and refresh rate than LCD, and richer colours.

  • Why you stuck in the 1990's or something??

Theres 100Hz and 200Hz LCDs every where now with higher contract radio then ever before, when OLED comes out 1 mill to 1 contrast radio and don;t even get me started with the response time.

  • The CRT technology still provides a better picture, refresh rate, and better colour for a price that is far less than LCD.

Sony Trinitrons, which are the undisputed champions of monitors, and a digital photographer's friend, only cost about US$100. Low-end LCD monitors cost around US$200, which is obviously more than the Trinitrons cost. Do the math, and you will know why CRTs are the best.

  • Can you fit a 50" CRT in a small room??

  • Big screens are pieces of shite, no matter what technology, and are absolutely useless. If you really wanted the theatre experience, then you should buy a movie projector and some films.

  • Projector?? r u mental??

Not even going to start with the disadvantages cos there are sooo many of them.

  • I meant a movie projector, not a projection TV. I would never recommend POS projection TVs. You should buy a movie projector and some movies on 35mm or 70mm for the true movie experience. For best sound, use a tube amplified system with the movie projector.

  • LCd TVs do the job better and is less hassle.

  • No they don't. A movie projector provides an authentic movie experience, as theatrical films are, in fact, film, and not a DVD.

And as far as TV goes, CRTs are still the best. I have a 1980 Magnavox TV (American-made. No Chinese or Mexican-made shite like all LCDs) that still works perfectly after 29 years of use. The picture is sharp and the colour is correct. It never has any problems. I would like to see your Chinese-made LCD TVs last that long and work just as well 29 years later.

  • I dont buy cheep brands so its not made form china.

  • Even good brands are made in China or Mexico. Absolutely no LCD TVs are made in countries like the US, UK, or Japan.

  • Well you can;t get CRT TV brand new any more. I do have a CRT in my living room. But my dad has a plasma at his house and the quaily look far sharper and clearer.

  • The picture on plasmas is shite, the power usage is shite, and plasmas are generally shite. My old Magnavox has a perfect picture, and it looks much better than a flat panel TV. HD and digital are stupid gimmicks that actually result in a worse picture.

  • WoW VaderNES I agree with the Made in USA. But saying your Magnavox has a perfect picture, and it looks much better than a flat panel TV. HD and digital are stupid gimmicks that actually result in a worse picture?? WRONG! Thats like saying a 1955 Black and White tube is way better in over all picture quality compared to your 1980 TV and yours must have been just a gimmick. I guarantee that your TV was assembled in the USA the parts it is made of are contracted threw out the world!

  • the truth is everything has an atomic clock a life span. They did not know how long a product would last back than so they built it the best way they know how at the time to outlast the warranty. Now that they know of the life of each component they build everything to last threw the warranty some last longer that others. So when its time for a new one you wont hold out 29 years. ;) have a nice day.

  • P.S. Standard Definition looks like crap on a big LCD cause all your resolution (pixils) are being stretched from a small picture. Thats why the air ways have switched to digital so it can handle the 720 and 1080 resolution loads. So you can have that crystal clear picture you don't have on your Magnavox.

  • It is, in fact, much sharer than an LCD Telly. Keep in mind that it was made by Magnmavox in Greeneville, Tn, USA, in February of 1980. Magnavox made some fine electronics then. That is why my set works 100% after 29 years, and has a sharp picture.

LCDs, on the other hand, have a shite picture. I used to own an LCD monitor, and it looked like shite. The picture was blurry and overly-bright. It was a computer monitor, too, which usually have a better picture than Tellys.

  • What was the brand? Its all in the specs and calibrations for room light. Dont be mad cause there not plug and play. A LCD set up right, will look as clear as a clean window looking outside. And I still guarantee if you open that 1980 TV up the capacitors, resistors, boards and so on will say made in china, Indonesia, Taiwan, Malaysia, ...... It will.

  • Out of all of those countries, only Taiwan made outsourced goods in 1979 or 1980, and even then, Japan made most electronic components then. In fact, I've cracked-open many '70s electronics, and even Taiwanese-made ones have Japanese components.

The tube was made in the United States, like most tube tellys of American brands (even as late as the '90s.

Also, my LCD monitor was set-up correctly.

Furthermore, the movement is smoother on my CRTs, thanks to my great refresh rate.

  • Your 60Mhz to 120Mhz refresh rates? Don't think so. Maybe you should start a North American CRT manufacturing corporation. I'm sure demand is high. lol

  • Like LCD monitors are smooth? LCDs cannot even come close to a CRT's refresh rate. The technology cannot do so. Furthermore, CRTs lack a native resolution, and look good at any resolution that you want. LCDs cannot do that.

Furthermore, there are no LCD monitors or tellys that are made in the United States or Japan. They are all shittily made in Red China or Mexico.

  • Very Smooth. The last time I remember hooking a CRT TV to a PC was in the mid 90s and you cant compare it looked like total garbage. Very blurred no clarity and all the colors were washed out I think it was a Magnavox. So like I said Bring back the good ol days of the Red White & Blue start a North American CRT manufacturing corporation. Or invent something. Cause when yours does go out you'll be going to the thrift stores.

  • 1. Tellys are not made for usage with computers. If you use a CRT monitor, you will see how excellent it is.

    2. I haven't the money to start a company, nor the equipment.

  • CRT's are great, i got nearly a whole room full of random computer pieces, and there's loads of CRTs in there, got most of them for free off people, my mate once gave me a whole Packard Bell computer and 17" Hi-RES CRT for free! :)

  • you know you can say "Shit" right.. -.-

  • Wanker...

  • yeh and the bub is one of them... if it blows then thats £3000 to get a new one

  • i ment bulb* lol

  • ac adaptor is broken

  • destinato in pattumiera

  • Mainboard Corrosion is the cause for this problem... Better buy a new Monitor than fix it.

  • u should try taking it apart to see what the problem is cause the ac jack could of blown

  • this may sound weird but one of our computer moniters at school had it press the on butten and very quikly hit it on thew top...trust me it worked for me...

  • I can't help you unless i had it hear to test the tbord thats the only way to tell whats going on with it!

  • troca 2 capacitores na placa de video que fica bom

  • i know that how many times i encounter that problem your problem is your capacitor is blowted in your LCD power supply replace it...

  • WHOOOOOOOOOOS GAY?

  • lcd panel light inverter or a capacitor or the power supply

  • I'm having the same problem and it's pretty frustrating.

  • Tienes un condensador averiado, abre el monitor y en la placa tienes unos condensadores que normalmente son negros, mira el que esta abonbado por la pate de arriba y cambialo y ya tienes monitor nuevo

    un saludo

  • that same thing happened to me ad i just kept hitting it for a while and it would work but then later on when i would try to go on my computer, it would just go on and off over and over again and i could only get on every couple of days and now it's not working at all so i need to use my moms but she doesn't hav any of stuff on it so i need help with this also...

  • hey i have the same problem did you ever get too fix it ??

  • Did u check ur viedo card, and invertor

  • Open your LCD and check your LCD back light connector clean it by eraser I think your problum will be solved...

  • get a new lcd monitor

  • Maybe a bad capacitor...

It might be almost pop out!

If you don't know what ...

Try to search on youtube bad capacitor... you will see...

and if you cna a capacitor don't invert it ... it will blow ...

  • u must check your power supply and the adapter, and the invertor in the lcd panel

  • you buy a new inverter for the backlights for 5$,replace it and enjoy

  • what happens if you push and hold the button??

  • that problem is in the power supply, you must check your regulator, capacitor. diode. and also check the exactd.c voltages, disconnect the dc supply from the main and measure the voltage...if is correct the problem is in thenext stage....

  • i think u buy a new hammer hehe go to your neares hardware

  • Power converter. I got a free Dell E17FP monitor from a friend, turns on and you can see the screen for about 1/2 a second, then turns off and the power light flashes too. Its trying to power up. im waiting for a part to come in the mail... anyways... but it IS the power supply in it.

  • i would recomend anyone to get a new or one of your old computer screens, i just got my old screen, pluggged it in, and it worked like a charm...:)

  • !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i'm having the exact problem with my VE700 I'm using it right now lol but it takes some time to get it work switching it on and off once and again :S did you manage to fix it? if so please help or somebody else

  • the problem is the power converter, replace to a new one and will work just fine.

  • thank you ! I'll take your advice, I hope yours is working fine and so will mine..

  • i had the same exact problem. The problem is your back light. A fuse whent. This fuse is funny though, instead of opening to cut power it increases it's resistance, which is why the back light comes on for a brief time. Just replace the fuse. It may be hard to find though.

  • same i got the same problem but my is

when i press the monitor on button once then it will keep blinking .i dunno is the monitor spoil or the video card? anyknows?

  • Call MR Jestine yong I am sure you find a good answer! believe me!

  • Hey man are you serious?

If you want to help this guy, think about something diferent,

i been examining this jestine yong for a while now, and i came

with the conclution that he is nothing but a ripping people off

i was thinking to open a forum to open the eyes of many people

that is buying jestine yong ebook.

i know many places that sale the same jestine yong is saling...

and what jestine sale for $47.47 this other places sale for $4

    Open your eyes dude!

  • did it ever get overloaded?

probably the transistor of some ELCO's burned up.

    If never overloaded, then CCFL

  • the CCFL Backlight is broken easy to repair and you can find parts on ebay

  • Take out the power for a week (7 days) .. and try angen !

  • I have absolutely no clue what is wrong, Maybe you should contact customer support?

  • Check the picofuse. this is a known issue do a google research.

  • I had that issue, there are two neon lights inside your monitor. I took one out and I had it run with only one. The screen is not bright as it use to be, but it works fine. I disasembled myself, and I didn't had to pay to fix it.

  • The back light capacitor is broken i think. Mine did it comes on the off. You have to switch it on and off to get a picture. Best thing to do it get a new one

  • i know that problem: it's the inverter circuitry... inverter is the circuit that supplies current to the backlight fluorescent lamps. it break easily on lcd monitors!

i repaired 3 lcds replacing the original (broken) inverter with ones taken from old scanners.

  • shut up

  • You don't even know what you are talking about, do you?

  • Do you realize how long that takes?

Only computers and stuff at schools that continuously have the monitor on with the login screen have these "BURNS"

  • no idea mate sorry

  • MY LCD does this too suddenly. I shipped it via UPS, and now it turns off after 3 seconds. The power light stays on,it just goes back. Flashlight test shows no sign of desktop, telling me its not a backlight issue. WTF!!?!?

  • check ur power lead is pluged in properly

or maybee smack till it dies completely:D:D

  • Make sure that your video card works. Also make sure that all the cables are tight it may also be the monitor going out.

  • Did u check all the wires are connected in the right spot on the computer and also check to make sure u have a right video card in your computer and also check to make sure that the monitor is set to the right input (Analog or Digital). Try that and see if it works, If not u got to options.

    1. Return it to the store and waite 2 months and get it repared or

    2. THROW IT IN THE GRAGABE!

    HOPE THIS HELPS,

    MCLAINE33

  • "GRAGABE"

    WTF?!

  • the best way is to throw ur lcd monitor in your garbage.......and burn it..and buy another one....hehehe^,__,^

  • please dont send it back cause i will have to fix it! you have a short somewhere i would have to take it apart to fix it. i had a lg one that did the same and i had to replace one of the pcbs in the back. the piece of junk

  • Mine does this exact same thing, although it does come on when I wait till my pc gets to the desktop after turning it on. How do I fix it, gateway's warranty doesnt apply to my monitor after 1 yr

  • Check the capacitors on the inverter/power supply board if they are bulged replace them.

Just be sure to replace them with low impedance caps and not general purpose ones.
