Why is everyone stuck on size?....it is not the size of the object, its the density of an object that is dangerous....being able to accurately judge the size of an object is only as important as being able to judge its density....

I think the glaciers that covered the northern hemisphere during the last ice age could definitely move boulders. The pressure the ice mass created left an indentation that that can give us an idea about their size and height. I think a 1km /3200Feet +! moving ice mass could pretty much move anything. I'm liking this lecture allot by the way. Interesting stuff, thanks for putting it on.

you have to take into account of how and why that ice formed.....glacier ice isn't actually ice at all, it is compacted snow that forms and reforms over time.....if you stick a rock on the ground, and then let a glacier form it doesn't actually move that rock, it covers the rock and if enough snow forms, and continues to stay it then becomes glacier "ice"..the actualy movement is minimally caused by actually moving of ice, but instead is a result of ice formation and reformation

...models based on earth rotation change over events like metroid impact & earth quakes suggest any stopping force acting on earth that stop rotation in less the 10,000 days from 1revolution per 24 hours would tear the crust apart and separate the mass out of orbit as was shoemaker levy fate with jupitier.

~if these known fact based models are any indication then any force acting over the next 800 days today onward would have turn the earth to dust by Christmas , we woud be devestated already.

The idea of volcanoes heating the Earth's oceans are unlike to. Specific heat of water = 1 cal/cm^3. So it takes one calorie of energy to raise 1 cm^3 of water by 1 C. A google search pegs volume of the Earths oceans at ~1.332 x10^9 km^3 or 1.332 x 10^15 cm^3. So to raise the Earth's oceans by 1 C you would need 1.332 QADRILLION calories or 1,537,486,000 Mega Watts. The calculators I was using were werid this may be a bit off. But that many volcanoes would be noticed. By, like, everyone.

@faszika the next great flood wont be until after the ice age when the earth heats up quickly (like on the graph and quickly doesnt mean a year or two) again. Nothing we as humans can change what the earth and other planets are going through. Its mother nature and if you mess with it like the government is trying to do, you can make things a lot worse!

is that a real question? everybody on earth would die before it hit earth, because it's on a orbit, unlike a meteor that picks up speed the longer it travels. anyways, before it hits us, it would block the sun from the earth, because it's five times bigger than earth, we would be dead before it hit us, because no sun means no plants, wich means no oxygen for us, and no food for any animals who eat plants.
