And at running back we have Mccoy hes and mike bell and weaver. we are set a rb for now. maybe next year we get a weak side linebacker

I like Graham but I think he'll struggle in the NFL. Not due to lack of effort but his short arms are really going to hurt him going against NFL tackles. You don't see many successful DEs who are short and short armed. I'm rooting for him, but I think Derrick Morgan was a better option. Glad the future bust Pierre Paul went to NY, LOL.

He played LB his entire high school career and said in interviews that he is just as comfortable there as on the line. If he does struggle at DE he can always fall back to LB... His vision is what makes him great so either position he can work with.
@collins1188 Its not as simple as that. Philly runs a 4-3 and uses its outside linebackers in coverage a lot. I really doubt Graham can cover like a weakside backer and using him as a strong side backer is just a waste of his skill sets. You don't draft Sam backers in the first round. Its a lot easier to move LBs to DEs than DEs to LBs. Now you can use Orakpo as an example but remember he played a DE/OLB at Texas so he has been asked to cover before, so it was nothing new to him.
@CDiddy51 You should check out Graham's measurables before you comment. This guy is a Dwight Freeney/Elvis Dumervil clone. Freeney's arms are 33". Dumervil's arms are 32". Graham's arms are 32.5". Graham's arms are like tree trunks... that's why they look short. Average arm length of an NFL offensive tackle is around 35".
@Goer92r Yea but Freeney runs in the 4.4 range, I know Graham doesn't have that explosiveness. Oh and Dumervil was a complete bust as a DE. He is only a fit as a 3-4 DE/OLB. Besides lets see if Dumervil keeps it up before we start calling him great. He has only had one good year so far.

Brandon Graham is going to give us years of great play. As an Eagles fan, i'm happy with this pick. We can still got a good Safety in the second round. I was shocked at the pick but now that I had time to think about it, it's really a nice move.

@Bowers1989 Yeah I think some people forget that Trent Cole is on the other side of Graham. And obviously Cole will be double teamed so that means Graham will be going one on one with a tackle and with his speed Im predicting at least 10 sacks for him this year.
If we have no pass rush then QBs will have a field day with us. Granham is better selection. Would have liked Thomas but it always starts up front with the D-line and Granham brings that extra push we need to get to the QB. I hope this stops us from blitzing all the time so we can play coverage better.

@theRONboii The Eagles didn't have a good enough passrush to make Earl Thomas play as good as he did in college, now they got another good weapon to pressure opposing QBs.
So with that area of the D taken care off, then can now grab a good safety like Nate Allen who will be able to perform well for them. It all starts upfront, if your D can't generate pressure then your DBs will get attacked and will suffer from it: this is what happened a lot to our secondary last season ;)
Don't doubt Andy Reid in the draft... He drafts great. Pressure starts w the line. Reid even said more pressure up front makes everyone else behind them better.

Brandon Graham is going to give us years of great play. As an Eagles fan, i'm happy with this pick. We can still got a good Safety in the second round. I was shocked at the pick but now that I had time to think about it, it's really a nice move.

Nice highlights. I really wanted the Eagles to take a DB and when they traded up, I thought they were going for Thomas even Hairdo Kiper mentioned it. However, I understand the birds thinking. They needed to jump Ten to grab a top flight DE and they got the man that they had graded the highest. Trome... of course, they could still grab Kindle, that would be a smart pick if they ran a 3-4, they don't. As for Dunlap can you say character issues.

@Bowers1989 Yeah I think some people forget that Trent Cole is on the other side of Graham. And obviously Cole will be double teamed so that means Graham will be going one on one with a tackle and with his speed Im predicting at least 10 sacks for him this year.

If we have no pass rush then QBs will have a field day with us. Granham is better selection. Would have liked Thomas but it always starts up front with the D-line and Granham brings that extra push we need to get to the QB. I hope this stops us from blitzing all the time so we can play coverage better.

@theRONboii The Eagles didn't have a good enough passrush to make Earl Thomas play as good as he did in college, now they got another good weapon to pressure opposing QBs.
So with that area of the D taken care off, then can now grab a good safety like Nate Allen who will be able to perform well for them. It all starts upfront, if your D can't generate pressure then your DBs will get attacked and will suffer from it: this is what happened a lot to our secondary last season ;)

Sims was an awesome pickup, a guy who gets about 120 to 130 tackles a year and him being in Philly is just gonna make him better. Here we come Day 2.
