  • ILM RULZ!

  • first frame is for which movie? earth colision

  • avatar the last air bender is a bad movie. it made me implode

  • we need that GPU in gaming!

  • @selearemus JAJAJAJ

  • @selearemus No.. There is a good reason why gamers stick to the geforce line...

  • @thatdude034 Nvidia Geforce Quadro would be nice LOL

  • @selearemus Its like over $4000

  • I really have an ambition to work at ILM. Can anyone help me out with this - what is a person called who gives all visual effects to movies like a shit example like an software engineer or a pryotechnician. Is it like a graphics designer ??

  • @MrSquareZNation Get specialized in autodesk MAYA,find a buddy filmmaker, make a film with him and then do the visual effects for it. Download BLENDER also it's not as good as MAYA but good for beginners.......I hope it helps.

  • @TheShubhkaran No man. i was asking for the name the desighnation. I found - its a digital artist ! ANYWAY THNX. THAT WAS REALLY HELPFUL !

  • @MrSquareZNation "Digital artist" is a very wide term... a graphic designer can also be called a "digital artist" if he works primary on the computer.. so anyone which create/make art primary on a computer but not dealing with the stuffs u mentioned can technically be called a "digital artist"

i believe the term u are looking for is "Technical Director", which is a mix of an artist and a programmer..

welcome to the world of post-production. :)

  • @jakobweiq Really thnx man. I appreciate it !

  • I heard that ILM has their own program called ZENO or something..

  • why is there a mac logo in the minute @6:12 in the left down corner?

  • @jgb1822 That specific clip probably came from a movie trailer on the Apple website.

  • what is this 'Slices' thing?

  • A very long way from POV ray.

  • Y'know, if Paramount hired ME to be the director of "Last Airbender", I would've followed the show a LOT more closely, talked with them about conceiving, shooting and rendering it in 3D, hired better actors and better script writers, expanded the film to 200-210 minutes (so it doesn't feel cramped), done VFX before editing, and hired Tippett Studio to create the digital stunts and creature effects and Scanline VFX, Moving Picture Company and Double Negative to create the element bending effects.

  • 2011----- imagine 2020

  • He keeps saying Special FX...it's actually Visual FX. Special FX are things on set, like fire, dust, ropes, rain etc...

  • @lucidmediatv you are absolutely correct

  • their work is Remarkable

it takes Years for making one shot perfect

imagine a whole movie harry potter transformers all parts . well

    i realy must say

u people work the way it should be when it come to the CGI

  • Tornado of Fire is such a metal image :) It's ironic that it's used on a movie for children up to the age of high school such as Harry Potter :/

  • BUT, WHAT IS THE PROGRAM??? :D

  • disagree with you SethiXzon. Move was bad, actors and acting was horrible, BUT special effects were outstanding and this video is only talking about the technology used to create that effects. So i think they have a right to be proud of the work they did - the FX part!

  • @criticalmassinc - Lol, so you agree then. You basically said what he said. He never said they shouldn't be proud of their work or anything.

  • M. Night Shamalama-ding-dong as Quentin Tarantino calls him made an awful movie with the airbender. Let's hope it's indeed the last.

  • Nevím sice o čem mluvili, ale vypadá to suprově. 1080p video by bylo vhodnější.

  • Wow. Video about HQ-graphics WITHOUT 1080p-version. -.-

  • *beginninng of video*

    "SOMEONE DIDIVED BY ZERO !!!"

  • rather watch an 8 bit version of the last airbender with the full story instead of a shit that lewks kewl

  • people need to realize special effects are not the most important thing in a movie... the story, dialogues and how it's all put together are. Heck, I'm even okay with special effects from 1977 from Star Wars A New Hope.

  • As someone said ILM became trough the years an"emergency ambulance service " for films... when you see this vast majority of crap movies you understand why.

  • He used OpenGL to make those amazing animations? wow :D

  • @GpZ91 CUDA compute the graphic process !

  • 0.00 to 0.05 what's that?

  • @mrguyrun i think its star trek, the new one

  • @mrguyrun the intro to Star Trek

  • @killerman778

which is why the most powerful gaming cards are ati right?

  • The last airbender was good, granted all they needed was it to be 2 hours, 2 parts, all the scenes or the good ones in it, get the right cast (air, white and Asian, Water Inuit, Fire Japanese, Earth Chinese) and it would be even better, my group is trying to get a remake done of it so George Lucas can create it along with the DBZ FMA and Bleach

  • they should have worked harder on the script instead on the vfx.

  • @killerman778 Hey fanboy, why won't you go and cry rainbows other place?

To be honest I love nvidia. But ATi is good as well. That comment just showed how much you fail.

  • @FOGoticus I've used both, I'm sticking with NVIDIA from personal preferences now because every computer with NVIDIA has worked well, every one with ATI has died, and so from personal preference and test with both types, i know which one I'm sticking with, people should make a fair opinion before they tie themselves to just one brand, it really depends on what type of processing you'r looking for/at.

  • @killerman778 Hello, my name is no-one. I am a satisfied ATI user. Glad to meet you. :)

  • weta digital rocks

  • I'm really hoping that this new technology will start to get integrated into programs like maya and 3ds. At the moment most, if not all of the simulations are CPU based and take forever. Proper GPU integration would speed up the work flow tenfold .

  • @maccollo Mental Ray IRAY GPU renderer has been released for maya, 3ds, and softimage for a 2011 subscription. Also Vray RT beta testing is still going on. Happy Hunting.

  • why not use videogames cards?

  • @juanp756 quadro series has better performance when it comes to rendering/simulations

  • @juanp756 Standard videogame cards are designed to render in real time. The NVIDIA Quadro series is designed to pre-render. Pre-rendering allows the use of more complex graphical models.

  • so much work on a shit movie....sad

  • @laidt0rest it was better than Dragonball evolution...

  • @willfullcookie Everything was better than DE. And I didn't even WATCH IT.

  • @laidt0rest yes, but at least they acquired experience from it.

  • whats the film on 0:05

  • @hasonap I think it's the latest Star Trek

  • @hasonap Transformers 2

  • It is interesting...

  • i wish i can afford 4 quadro 6000 series cards.

  • Nice, nVIDIA got a new animation to there logo

  • Please release the gtx475 soon, im waiting for buying that! :) also, very nice video nvidia, im really impressed !

  • @orkie55 EVGA GTX460 FTW!!

  • can u guys come up with some breakthrough cooling as well for your high end cards?

  • 6:32 of adverts

ah well, I enjoyed it anyway

  • very nice outtro...

  • playing maxed out games on my nVidia system is like having EpiChips dipped in AwesomeSauce :P

  • nice video :D

  • @BCCMightySanta go watch halo wars ending and then tell me lol

  • very cool video more of this ..

    thksss

  • those trophies in the background are well earned!

  • Way to go NV :)

  • Awesome.....

Nvidia you always make things much easier.....whether its for professionals or for gamers.....

  • how long is it gonna take to see games in cinematic Quality.

  • @3dkiller

It's too darn expensive to make a game with serious cinematic type graphics, but we'll see.

  • George Lucas owns the world

  • crazy

  • redwood....

  • nice to know it could all be dont on ATI cards.

  • alright!

  • Halo wars for the first scene then Transformers 2 for the second scene

  • @larlar752000 Star Trek first, then Transformers 2. Know your movies/games ;)

  • i love nvidia

is there any plans what so ever on a gtx 480 refresh i would love that

  • @taltigolt gtx 485 fermi 104 will have full 512 cores lower power and a lil more ram expected by xmass

  • doesn't my GTX470 has some programmable shaders?

  • Notice how at the credits of basically every movie is Lucasfilm? GO LUCASFILM! WOOOOO. :)

  • 'Last Airbender'

Sorry, but that movie might have had great effects, but it was TERRIBLE.

  • @SethiXzon true so true

  • @SethiXzon

I was about to say the same thing maybe they shouldn't be to proud being a part of that movie:)

  • @SethiXzon

ILM dont give a shit tho.. they get paid to make it so if the movie is shit to bad for the makers of the movie :D

ilm dont make any money from the movie they just get paid from the makers of it

  • @InsightCinema Amen , I was thinking the same , As long as the director PAYS them ILM doesn't care if it's shitty movie.

  • @MrTestNTune

hell yeah :D A mechanic wouldnt refuse to work on a shitty car if he got paid. So why would ILM refuse to work on a shitty movie if they got paid.

So many people are clueless. They think ILM made the movies.

  • @MrTestNTune

Actually, people at ILM will care if it was awful. I mean, I talked to one of my teachers, and her brother, Victor Shutz (Pirates of the Caribbean, Watchmen, Spiderman 2 & 3, Star Wars Episode II), who did the gigantic water wall sequence, absolutely HATED this movie and thought it was NOTHING like the original cartoon.

  • @KTKomedy2813 STOP TROLLING !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Still doesn't beat Gollum!

  • FIRST :D

  • @noname973 really?........ lol
