The YouTube hoaxer's behavior was foolish and cruel, sure. But two years in prison for "felony tampering with evidence and making false statements"? What evidence did he tamper with? And so what if he lied to the YouTube community? Jesus Christ, you might as well put the whole goddamn Tea Party in prison.

@ReligiousZombie Yeah, the sentence is over the top to say the least. In fact, it's downright crazy. Youtube is full of pranksters who fake beheadings, shootings, suicides and write comments on crime videos that they are the guilty ones, etc. Poor guy,...

The funny thing is that law enforcement often hires psychics to help them "solve" crimes. We all know that psychics are just making up stuff, i.e. lying, yet they get paid by the police instead of being accused of "tampering with evidence".

I think Tara was pregnant with marcus' child , he said he was on a "ride along" with another cop that night - cops have latex gloves, why don't the police check the cops DNA swabs too

This sounds more like a case of shoddy police work and a criminal that loved to mess with them. Glove sounds planted, can't keep their info safe, which means someone inside was tipping people off for cash, or the actual offender was playing games.

This glove could have been blown onto her place by the wind....I dont think its worth much.The neighbors say they didnt see the lamp on, yet signs show that she was home that night.....I think she came home quickly to change her clothes and leave with someone..hence the clothes on the floor and she probably forgot her cell phone..or the neighbors were lying.

Maybe the student got someone else to kill her? I wonder if they checked out his friends as well as him? He was angry with her for a reason, why didn't they tell us what that reason was? There are secrets being kept here, it looks like they are protecting her reputation. I hope they find her killer soon, or find her if she is out there somewhere.

I mean no offense to this woman, but don't understand why she was a beauty queen? She had nice hair, maybe a good body, but her face was not beauty queen material in my opinion.

At one point in an interview with 48 hrs. that aired in 2008 Agent Gary Rothwell talked about Marcus Harper, an ex-police officer, about his relationship with Tara Grinstead. In his reverse speech he said "Lad is a cop. May arrest". Yes, Agent Rockwell you've revealed who you believe to be the true offender, & all I had to do is play your interview backwards. In a reversal I found on Marcus Harper he said "And now I wished deceased". This is revealed as he talked about the day Tara disappeared.

@bwd81977 If you mean "amateur" as I don't get paid to listen hrs. on end for speech reversals then, yes. The producers of the show never contacted me, apparently more interested in getting an interview w/ the G.B.I. than getting to the truth. During the interview, a reversal occurs while he is talking about Marcus Harper "More than likely make an arrest". Also a reversal where he says "mostly seen as accurate" in regards to reverse speech analysis as they segway into talking about my findings.

Are you really suggesting that when people talk they subliminally, or purposely, reveal information that if you play their words backward reflect their true thoughts? If so you need medication.

What a sad story! For some reason this episode really struck a nerve with me....Tara was so young, beautiful and seems like such a nice, caring person. I am sure she is missed by many people. I hope to see this case solved one day!
