  • wow,wow,wow just beautiful sista.

  • How did you get your dreadlocks?

  • @JesseAce711 please read the FAQ on my chescalocs page

  • how often do you wash your hair ?

  • @MrsSashee please read the FAQ on my chescalocs page. thanks

  • they are awsome !! your dreads are beauty's ! and your are too ^^

really they are amazing looking !

  • if u have knots in ur dreads will they go away

  • Thanks pretty girl

  • I wish my girlfriend looked like you.

  • Hey have you tried the Take Down Remover to even out your locs and the dread splits?

  • @hairstyleremovers nope. i'm happy with my locs the way they are. that's kind of the point of this video.

  • im spanish and i have been lockin for 4 months my hair is passed my shoulders and they look far from yours , yours are perfect lol i thaught i wus the only 1 that there dreads split ike the way you said ,. i jus wanted to kno how u stitched them to make them thicker

  • Franchesca can I say one thing? you are so beautiful and very smart too :)

nothings wrong with you hair. they're beautiful

  • It looks like you cant

  • can you even brush your hair?

  • @Annabell1885 you don't brush locks

  • @chescaleigh i know right some guy asked that same question in a question video i was like wtf u thinkin and i saw on knottydread website or something they brush there dreads!!! l0l

  • There is nothing embarassing about your hair, it looks so fine and you are so beautiful too by the way :)

  • @LionEntity aw thanks :) i didn't mean my hair was embarrassing, i just wanted to show people that my locs aren't "perfect" and there's nothing wrong with that.

  • @chescaleigh Honey, you and your locks are both perfect :) I know this might not be the right place to say it, but do you think we could get together sometime?...go out for some ice cream, or fruit juice, in a park or someplace nice like that?...

  • i was just bout to say the jamaicain mango n lime i use that v4 both ,my boys dreads

  • how long did it take for your dreads to lock like that?? and yeah thats painfull when they knot together i agree!! haha :D

  • HOT!

  • Ur locs are beautiful. my locs are soft just like that and I have sewn various locs together but my hair healthy. u loc ur hair with black gel..that is not healthy. use carol's daughter loc butter, raw shea butter, or pure raw aloe (straight from the plant-NATURE'S GEL).

  • although i think your dreads are rly nice and to be honest i like the gradient from brown to blond it rly looks well :) keep up with your dreads. no one got perfect dreads there is always work to do :D

  • I think I have a girl crush.

  • Your dreads are beautiful and so are you :)

  • Love watching your videos cause you be yourself and you make me laughbut learn at gthe same time. thanks.

  • you're beautiful!

  • everything u talked about iv been through! haha good to know im not alone : P

  • i like her. shes cute lol

  • to me, perfection isn't the goal of dreadlocks. that's just me.

  • Agreed. The point of this video was to say that my locs aren't perfect so people shouldn't compare themselves or their hair experience to mine. Everyones is unique and beautiful

  • @chescaleigh whatever imperfections you may have, you have beautiful dreads :)

  • @speedboarder87 thank you:)

  • yeah if you use towels with light fabrics that don't stick to the "sheet" and just shreds if you just shake it or rub your hands on it, those are bad.obviously. so you want a thick towel that doesn't frey easily or at all. if you wash the towel every time before you use it for your hair that can help you too.

  • ihave dreads and looking for a girl with sum to lol jp buts ur look good may u need to get a shape up my mom get shape up and it look good with her dreads

  • Love the video...I'm sure your get too many questions here but i wanted to know what should to do about the fact that one dread has formed into several and now it's one big one in the back. Should we cut it and start over with that one, as it doesn't match the other dreads which are alot smaller..help..this is for my Mother and she's scared to just cut that one big one bc then it will prob look like a bald spot in the back while growing back..any advice?

  • @foxxyma1979 sorry i'm just now getting back to you. i'd cut the loc down the middle but not all the way to the root. then pull the loc apart so you can make it int two separate dreads and then palm roll them. regular maintenance will prevent your locs from crawling together though. i recommend 2-3 weeks but everyone is different.

  • @chescaleigh Thanks for getting back with me..we will try that for sure!!

  • @chescaleigh what do i do if some of my dreadlocks are thin at the root? do they jus fall out..or is there a way i can make them thicker at the root?

  • @chescaleigh what do i do if some of my dreadlocks are thin at the root? do they jus fall out..or is there a way i can make them thicker at the root?

  • what happens if you dont twist the same direction?

  • you run the risk of your locs thinning and not being uniform.

  • thanx

  • have you ever curled your dreads with a curling iron?, or just curls in general?

  • a curling iron wouldn't work on my hair. but i've used rollers numerous times. check out the hair playlist on my channel or my hair channel, chescalocs :)

  • i use to use mango lime stuff then i ued blck gel now i use LoCK aND TWiST RooT STiMuLaToR

  • treseme it comes in diff. colors 4 diff hair try it! loL

  • Pause at 3:26 that would make a hot pic!

  • Love your locks chescaleigh they

are looking fantastic : ) Check mine

    out tell me what'cha think : )

  • Your dreads are very very good!

  • sexy sista

  • Black women with dread are the best

Just natural!! Be proud of your hair girls, No braids, no conditioners, no extentions, no wigs!!!

And no lightening creams, colored lenses, fake nails (thoses are for Bees wannabees)!!!

  • your hot...

  • i tried the back combing technique to twist my hair and the roots werent twistin tightly? what am i doin wrong do i need a gel or something

  • how long have you had locs? what type of hair do you have? caucasian or african american? how do you maintain your hair and how often? there are a lot of factors involved.

  • ooooooooooooooooooooooooommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmgggggggggggggggggggggggggg, it grew like that i mean that fast

  • girl, you are beautiful... i'm lovin the locks

  • Thanks for the nice video! I help my boyfriend with his slightly larger locks, so it's nice to see yours. He also had a salon use the dark wax on him years ago. I still am squeezing it out of his hair... On a music note, thanks for the esthero!

  • literally had to do the exact same thing with my hair

  • Did you lose the tips of your locs from using hair color? I'm considering color, but I'm worried that it'll weaken my hair

  • thanx for the towel tip...seems like a no brainer but i guess u just grab what's close by lol anyway, i'm using the prostyle b/c the lady that twisted my hair used it and i agree with the crunchy/dusty part lol where can i get the Jamaican mango stuff? i've only been twisted about 5/6 weeks (have about 5 inches) so no locs yet and i'm getn impatient...i'm doing the new growth myself and it's too often (i'd rather cut my hair short to avoid having to mess with it lol)

  • mango & lime & this stuff that EROCK uses twalhili I dont know but using those products should stop the breakege maybe even taking raw shae butter & cooking coconut oil is perfect for your hair

  • that type of ignorant comment will get you BLOCKED

  • ask me if i care ^_^ i express ma self how i want.

  • can you tel me a recepy for a natural shampoo?i am using regular shampoo, but don't wanna use chemicals no more.give thanx!

  • sorry, i don't have a suggestion. try searching on google

  • i started using "organix" brand its sulfate free & affordable. $6/bottle @ walmart! but there are tons of videos on youtube on how to make your own shampoo.

  • thanks!

  • if its natural you seek use mayo its agreat cleanser and and for your skin use asprin and honey

  • are you rasta ?

  • nope

  • Nice video, I have to admit that i love your skin, your eyes and your dreads. I'm a man but i still envy you :P

  • aw you're sweet!

  • You too :)

  • long beautiful hair tell me ur secreat to get it like that

  • no secret, just patience

  • My two bestfriends have recently locked their hair. And its about 1.5 inches long. I just want you to know that you are these boys inspiration ! I love your hair. They are trying to make me dread my hair , and I am seriously debating whether or not to do it. But my hair is down to my elbows. And to be honest, I`m quite scared.

  • aaaw

! thanks! that's so sweet. i don't blame you for being nervous. it's a huge step aaand, if your hair is permed you're gonna have to cut all of it off :( there's no rush though! take your time! and if you aren't ready, don't do it! dreads aren't for everyone and there's nothing wrong w that.

  • damn u are beautiful. are you single?

  • nope :) sorry

  • you're supposed to have nappy roots if you have locs. How is that a bad thing? Also, I read that you use pink oil moisturizer. That contains mineral oil and is bad for your scalp and may even cause build-up. Jamaican Mango and Lime also causes build up after a while...it may work for you after all but pink oil is def. bad for the hair. Maybe you should try using olive or coconut oil.

  • there's nothing wrong with that. if you listen carefully, i didn't say otherwise. it's a personal preference. i like for my roots to be tight and manicured. thanks for the info on pink luster and jamacian mango and lime.

  • if my dreas looked that good i would never cut them off

  • you have the greatest hair idc what you think

  • aw thanks! i'm not saying anything negative about my hair though. i just wanted to show people that i'm not perfect and neither is my hair. we all have flaws that make us unique and we should be content w being ourselves and not aim to be just like someone else. that's all. thanks for your comment :)

  • wats ur hair texture?

  • hmm...i'm not really sure. i mean, my hair is naturally kinky, but i don't know the exact texture classification like, 1b or whatever...sorry

  • You're hair is beautiful and great just the way God make you!! Best believe dat guh! It is perfect in God's eyes...mi sur bout dat!!

  • Ewwrk

  • ummm...what does that mean?

  • it was the answers to toolw23 , nothing personal :p

Anyway, love ur hair, especially the Lady Gaga Bow video. Keep doing those vids :D

  • ooh thanks for clarifying. i didn't see that it was posted as a response to someone else. thanks!

  • i love you....

    you are the perfect woman....

i need a woman like you.....

    bless

  • i like tha mango and lime gel also, but i stopped using it because tha orange gel was causing somewhat of a bild up in my locs..so now i use the clear murray's locing gel...u can get it at ur local family dollar =]

  • hm. i've used mango and lime for awhile now and have never experienced build up. but everyone's hair and their maintenance routine is different. i just started using the organic root stimulator loc and twist gel because i cant find the mango and lime at my local beauty supply here in new york. i'm not a professional, i just share w you guys what i use. to each his own!

  • how do you keep your dreads so skinny

  • That's just the size they were started at. I wanted them to be thin

  • I understand that's how my hair looks when I wash it. That's why I don't wash mine as often as I should. Lol! :-)

  • i love Esthero. Great song sweetie. Your hair in beautiful.

  • love ur vid

  • Hey Chescaleigh! My name is Tiffany and I reallt dig your style. I've watched your videos and never commented. I just enjoyed from a distance. This video made me have to tell you that your awsome. You inspired me to do my own loc tutorials. I have 10 yrs growth. I know that alot of women and men that once they get to my length they are at a loss for styles. Thanks for the inspiration and keep of the positive vibes. Try Olive oil for your hair too. Also a il product called Natures Blessing...

  • thanks so much for your comment and tips! i'm so happy to inspire, can't wait to see your videos!

  • i use that exact same pro style gel that you used to.... my hair is crunchy at the roots for a while, but in like a day or so, it's all good :-) i might try that jamaican stuff though

  • Jamaican lime is a lot better than prostyle. it's not crunchy at all and it smells really yummy

  • n da shampoo feels great wit cold water lol

  • I love your dreads. You're an inspiration for everyone who wants dreadlocks :)

  • wow, you're gorgeous! :D dreads (especially at that thickness!) totally suit you.

  • 3:28 was prolly the sexiest face ive eva saw.....beautiful dreads nd im soooooo glad u switch to mango nd lime lol

  • Such a gorgeous complexion, right? Great features...INCLUDING natural textured hair. So glad a sista embraces her natural attributes.

  • natural beauty is always the best....ion like a shyt load make-up nd eyeliner. if a female dont need make-up she dont need ta put it on...lol nd she dont need none

  • u have a gorgeous complexion

  • I'm not a huge dreads fan but I would say that your dreads are very nice. I can see that you really take care of your hair which makes your apprearance more beautiful

  • Hi. I like your hair and enjoy your hair "how to" videos-sexy.

  • did u sew all your dreads? they all look thicker than wen u started

  • no, just a few in the front

  • Your hair is cute. what do you think about trimming.

  • thanks!

not sure what you mean by trimming...

  • no need ta count dem dreads child... and no fashon products now. let nature take her course wit ya locks.. JAH RASTAFARI!!!

  • I'm not rasta, therefore I maintain my hair and appearance to my liking

  • hey! from your experience does the pro style hold roots better or the mango and lime and do you use the gel, the locking gro or the cream wax

  • mango and lime by far! plus, it doesn't leave build up and smells really good. i use the locking gro.

  • you have beautyfull locs

  • Use aloe gel. That black stuff is terrible for your hair.

  • if you read the annotations, you will see that i stopped using this gel shortly after i filmed the video. i now use Jamaican mango and lime

  • how many dreads do you have?

  • 114

  • mango&lime at any wal mart locking creme wax ps it smell real good and no build up

  • if you see the annotations in the video that's exactly what i've been using

  • should let them go buck wild and stop maintaining them

  • But I like how my hair looks maintained

  • how many dreads u have?

  • 114

  • HEEEELP I'm dying. D:

My roots are getting thiner and thiner since a year.

My dreads are more than 5 years old and I'm desperate like hell.

I hope I can find some help on your hair video section.

You dreads are really beautiful, btw. <3

    Cheers,

    -Guy-

  • how old are you dreads? what do you do to maintain them? dreads naturally thin as they're maturing. unless they look like they're about to break, you're probably fine. otherwise you can combine a few locs to thicken them up. best of luck

  • Yes, I tried to fix them by combine 2 to one single dread and to crochet lose hair.

But now I figured out that the true problem was the way I washed my hair.

I used shampoo with something like conditioner in it and that was a bad idea.

After I started to wash my dreads with curd soap (like every 6th day) my dreads started to take the lose hair and thin dreads by theirselves. (So it's like the years ago)

Maybe this isn't compatible for everyone but it worked for me. :D

    Thanks for your help. :)

  • I like this vid and music whose the artist? (^__^)

  • it's esthero. FYI i always put the song title in the description box

  • cool thanks!

  • so beautiful

  • ur such a hot babe...and i love ur dreads

  • Your really pretty :) and you've got some real nice dreads

  • thank you!

  • i started double twisting mines but only bcuz I want them really thick...great tips newayz...peace out.

  • My dread problem is little hair roots sitting on the surface of the dread... I very well may be going bald because on the front dreads hair comes out very gradually, and it stays in the dread instead of falling to the ground... o.O

  • The video was going good until I saw that black gel - that's when I started hearing the music from the shower scene from "Pycho". LOL My locks look so much like yours. I have the knots, the sewn locks, the ones that get thinner towards the ends. Thanks for how-to's keep em comin'.

  • use water base pomade

  • i love your hair, looks beautiful

  • meh, i still think you're beautiful.

black women are some of the most beautiful to me.

  • am a guy and a planing on lockin ma hair.i want them just like yours

  • I still think that they are perfect :)

  • I really want dreads, but ma mum said no :(

  • well, once you're 18 and on your own i say go for it. it's your hair, do what makes you happy!

  • how many dreadlocks do you have cuz i have 185

  • lol you counted

  • yea lol took a while but i did it lol

  • my dad told me to do that. hes like "what! youve never tried?!" im there like "...no"

  • i agree jamaican mango and lime creme wax is great

  • I love this video and you were so sweet and honest. Whenever I even think about dying my hair I will come watch you video!!!

  • Your hair is perfect. That is the beauty about locks, they are unique to the individual. There is no standard.

  • have wavie hair just started locks 4mth ago. whats good products to tange wavie really good

  • עץ ביצה מרק כלב הלך צפרדע ג 'ירפה גמל זין

  • how did you sew them together? :) it's a good idea i've never heard of that aha

  • lol. i got a grey hair there too =)

  • try pure aloe vera gel. it lasts FOREVER? you can get it at any health food store.

  • I've been using Jamacian Mango and Lime, and I like it.

  • Comment removed

  • i have ben using Jamaican Mango and Lime for two years now. I love it, and it smells so good!

  • yea I just started using it a couple months back and it smells good

  • Good morning to you:)

I've had locs now since 1997 and i've learned so much from viewing your vids!

    Keep up the good work!

  • i know you have probably been asked this question a million times...but how many locs do you currently have

  • last time i counted 111. kinda weird number...

  • Im going to loc my hair soon and was wondering...

Which product do you prefer, JML wax of gel?

  • i'm really against using wax because it doesn't wash out easily and can trap a lot of dirt in your hair. so i'd say go with the gel

  • My loctician started using pure aloe vera gel
